When the warden comes out it would be amazing if it would roam around the maze lol and it would probably freak people out if they turned a corner and saw it
Concept: Put a bunch of invisible ravagers with the particles hidden. as the old backrooms lore goes 'If you hear something, the god save you because it sure heard you'
Now what you can do is you add three different 'entrances' and have each player go in so they might meet each other, but each 'entrance' is actually a portal to another maze. Then add in a music mod that's just occasional player footsteps and watch what happens
Imagine a maze with plenty of single columns, where the only way to find exit is to spin around a column 3 times. Like, no sane person will ever do it, but the exit is literally just around a corner all the time.
You should find the portals and put a piece of colored carpet above each portal (matched with the other portal) so that it appears in spectator mode. I’d also like to see everyone in thr maze at once.
UPDATE: I'm doing it by hand in creative, but damn using the grid pattern makes it so much faster to get framework done. I'll post another update later on in the build.

If you are going to do a update to the minecraft backrooms, (I will call it the minerooms) then remember that 1: the backrooms has multiple levels which you can enter by nocliping through the surface of any level of the backrooms. 2: according to backrooms lore in almost every level there are certain rare rooms which have small pieces of furniture in them. (They are usually things like chairs, lamps or tables) And lastly number 3: remember. There lives creatures in the backrooms, and if you hear them, you better start praying. *because it sure as hell has heard you*
The thumbnail+title made me think you had put a pheonix-sc AI in the maze to hunt you down.. Also two things, one: the backrooms have yellow walls, not wooden. second: you should add an AI with a completely black skin that hunts you down in the maze to be more faithful to the original backrooms.
not gonna lie you could do something very similar to this in just flat vanilla Minecraft with command blocks that detect the player and teleport at the same time you would just have to teleport to a area that looks the same from that direction so very slightly limiting

you need to change the walls to a more yellowish look and make it have some dark spots with shadows also add some carpet floors and trims on the walls to all give it kind of a creepy vibe like the backrooms game

You are trapped in a seemingly infinite maze of identical hallways. You remark that you are likely to starve to death before completing it. A god answers your prayer and makes food appear in your hand. You now know that you could truly stay here... forever.
I have 2 Ideas! 3 one way portals. Hide the entrance with one so you never can get back to the beginnning. You could make the beginning room recognizable. And put one way portals on both sides of the exit so that following the right or left side wall will never lead you out! The trick that everyone knows to leave a maze will help keep them inside. 😎
imagine placing someone is this maze and tell them there are portals but then you secretly dont have any portals and they will be suspecting portals all the time.
Idea on using one way portal in maze: Step 1: Create a proper entrance and a proper exit so that player can walk in the maze without gm teleporting someone Step 2: A one way portal near the beginning of maze that everyone will walk through. It run in a way such that if someone try to walk back to the entrance, they will be teleported to another edge of maze, so that escape from entrance will fail Step 3a: Another one way portal near the exit of maze that everyone will walk through before they escape. This time, if they walk back from exit, the portal will activate and put them to the portal near entrance, and make them find the entrance instead Conclusion a: The maze will act like a one-way gatekeeper that is hard to go through from entrance to exit, but speedy from exit to entrance. Step 3b: Use portal for exit like Step 2 Step 4b: Setup another set of one way portals that let one actually go to entrance and go to exit. Conclusion b: The maze will be playable from entrance to exit and exit to entrance, each with different experience. One can't memorize the route from entrance to exit to help in playing from exit to entrance! Bonus: Use 2 or 3 one way portals near entrance and exit, such that branches can happen near entrance and exit and no long one-way corridor to hide the one-way portal side-effect.
Idea: Do this again, but with more portals, add a mod where it has a creepy, distorted, black figure that slowly walks around the maze, and dont give him food, so if he doesnt escape in time he loses.
Portals have a setting, enabled by default, that tries to push you out of them when you walk through... I don’t remember how to do it, but it’s something with the /portal command. You can look at the Immersive Portals wiki for help. (I might look it up myself and tell you in the comment replies)

One way to counteract touching a wall to get to the end: make the end in a box, that is not connected to any wall, so you can walk around it
