Written in 1823 for a private occasion when he was 14, revised for a larger ensemble and played publicly in the same year. This work essentially disappeared until recently, but two years later, he wrote the octet, which has been widely played. It's a shame this genius died so young, and also that his brilliant sister preceded him to the grave.
Mendelssohn is a genius as Mozart. Both lived a short life.

Mendelsohn es de mis compositores preferidos. esta obra me encanta aunque los expertos dicen que no está muy bien lograda ya que es de grandes pretensiones.

Though I love the playing of Mr. Capucon (in general), this performance is too rush and too superficial.. Need more stability and depth
impossible, unfair to say that mendelssohn was not deep or silly just because he was rich. here we hear other argument!!!
