I’m having a problem where I can’t play any of my ultimate edition characters. I had went to game stop and a copy of the mk11 ultimate edition disc version but when I had downloaded all of the addons the characters were still locked any way you can help me

Man, the data disk works as a data disk, but two months ago when I blocked it the first time it worked without problems, and a week ago I wanted to delete the game because of the limited space on the PS4, and today I am trying to return the disk, but it stops at 730 MB and the word "Error" appears.

A new copy of MK11 Ultimate comes with a "redeem code" flyer in the box that allows you to upgrade to PS5 for free. I'm not sure how it's done as I don't own a PS5 but from what I've read you might need to run the PS4 data disc on PS5 and input the redeem code when asked. You might want to contact WB Games for support. They are very responsive and helpful and can explain step by step.
Make sure your internet connection is stable and uninterrupted. Try to uninstall the game. Restore the lisences in the PS4 settings. Try to install again. If it still not working you might need to get an exchange or refund. A lot of the copies came faulty from the factory.

Ideally, you insert the data disc first to install everything. But a lot of physical copies of this game have been misprinted by the manufacturer. If the data disc is not working, just put in the game disc which should work as a data disc and will install everything. Then insert the data disc which should work as a game disc. It's really just misprinted artwork on the two discs.
If you only buy the base game "MK11", you will not get the extras that come with the Ultimate version. You will have to buy all that separately. Other than that, what happens is that regardless of what version you buy, digital or physical, you'll have to install the game. If you buy the digital version of the game, you will not need a disc. If you buy the physical you will of course need the disc. Let me know if that answers your question or if there's something particular you meant and I didn't get it.

You might need to contact the WB games support team. They are quite responsive but you have to be very clear with them and might need to send them couple of screenshots.

You can delete MK11 and install MK11 Ultimate and all your saved progress will still be there. You can also just buy and install the kombat packs and Aftermath packs and add them to your existing game and you will still have your progress saved.
put the black data disc in. your copy might actually be printed correctly so the black one should work fine as a data disc. not every copy is faulty like mine 😅 if neither of your discs work as a data disc then you might need to return it.

You can still use the data disc on another ps4. Normally there shouldn't be any problem. It's like buying a second hand game the date disc of which has already been used on another ps4. It will still run on your console just fine. Your new ps4 will just read it as a new game to install.

How long you've been waiting for? Try to contact the retailer and ask for the tracking number. The international posting has some delays due to the virus crisis so it might be normal. I was waiting one month for something I ordered from China. Don't loose hope. Oh and make sure your physical copy is licensed to be played in your country so you won't have any dlc problems.

Not sure. Are you talking about PS4 or PS5? Maybe try to re-install the game. MK 11 Ultimate includes Aftermath so it should be there once you install all the packs from the data disc.

tried it, but the play disc doesn't finish installing either, gets close to the 30GB mark and then an error pops up

That's weird. Try to reinstall. The real data disc should have all the packs on it. Also run all the updates on the game.

There can be several reasons for that. Try updating your console's software. Maybe free some space in the storage.
