i was on the edge about getting this because i thought id have to rebuild my pc and take out my mobo but after seeing this video and seeing that everything can stay in im going to get the vertical mount. thank you very much
2:23 I'm using the vertical mount with both m-DTX and m-ITX. You do have to give up CPU tower aircoolers, but the stock cooler (both AMD wraith stealth and Prism work), AIO blocks or custom loop waterblocks work.
I do not comment often, but THANK YOU! I have been so confused about mounting it after already having built the pc! Now I might actually buy one, as I didn't want to remove the MB just to flip my GPU!
Awesome video! I currently rocking the 011 Dynamic, but I ordered a Mini and a pcie bracket for a secondary build! Thank you for this video really helped me out
1. Is it possible to have the vertical GPU mounted 1 slot lower than what you did in the video? 2. Would the AIO tubes reach if you mounted the AIO to have the tubes at the bottom?
@2:20 why cant I use ITX? Isnt it just as secure as ATX and mATX? The PCIe lane is the same height. Edit: corrected the time stamp. Edit 2: I figured out the answer on my own. The vertical mount can do the 5 slot and 7 slot config ("ATX and mATX"). The 3 slot config (ITX) is not do-able due to the vertical PCIe being too tall for the motherboard to be that low. This confused me because I can put the ITX board in the 7 and 5 slot configuration also. Hope this clarifies the video for future viewers.
Great Video! Question: Is it still possible to use the lowest PCI slot of the motherboard? (eg. for a wifi-adapter) or does the GPU take up all the space in front of the slots?
Nice video. I just did this same upgrade. My PC looks like an all-black version of yours :) One thing I still need to do is to get my wifi/bluetooth card installed vertically now since the bracket gets in its way. I hope I'll still have enough clearance for decent airflow after moving my GPU 1 slot to the left!
Why couldn't they have designed the mount to extend longer across the length of the case? Also why couldn't they have made the GPU seat deeper to the horizontal portion of the mount and not have the GPU connector exposed? This mount is made specifically for this case right? To me it looks precarious.
I know this comment is a year old, but I figure I'll reply anyway incase someone else sees this and wants to know. It really depends on your GPU. In the video, it seems like he has enough room for an exhaust at the back but I've just installed mine today for an RX 6900XT MSI Gaming Trio Z. It's a big card, I barely fit a 120mm exhaust fan at the back. I can't screw it in but it stays in place. Definitely check how big your card is and how it's going to look. I have a gorgeous EK Elite AIO which is now slightly getting covered by my GPU so I've got some regrets buying my vertical mount. Oh well 🤷♂️ Maybe it'll look nicer with a 7900XTX reference since it's a smaller card. Edit: for reference, I have an O11 Mini Air with an ATX motherboard
Beautiful build, thank you for sharing, just curious why you decided to have the 2 140mm side fans as intake? I think it’s the best way to go but most build videos have them as exhaust fans
In your second part of the video where it's adding it to an already built system...all I care about is the tray itself that it was sitting on. Did the case come with that tray? Or you had to buy the kit no matter what to have the tray? Just wondering if I actually need to buy the kit or not. I want my gpu mounted like how yours was at the beginning of that section
