Thank you so much for subscribing!!! Hmmm....I just recently did a video with some basic phrases and translations for people planning to visit Egypt. ruclips.net/video/fDDKHjDmfg0/видео.html But honestly it might be better to order in English anyway. If you start speaking Arabic they will speak it back to you and you will have no idea what they are saying. I think the basic phrases I explained in the video linked above is sufficient for ordering. I explain how to say "thank you", "can I have", "excuse me", and "the bill/check", amongst other words and phrases that could be useful for a quick trip to Egypt. So check that video out if you haven't seen it already. Oh, and something I wish I would have added to that video but I forgot to is: In Egyptian Arabic "where are you from?" is "minayn" which can kind of sound like the word "money" in English, especially if said quickly or the person is mumbling a bit. So don't make the mistake I did and think people are asking you for money when they are actually asking you "where are you from?" 🤣 When I first arrived to Egypt I only knew like 3 words in Arabic (I started learning more pretty quickly but did not learn what "where are you from" was) and people kept asking "minayn, minayn?" and I thought they were asking for money. Hello Giselle, thank you for this video. Wow, it looks delicious the juice that you bought. Also, as previous videos, a lot of memories while you were driving the motorcycle.... I recognize all the places. I am not sure if you have any videos having a Felucca ride at night by the Nile. I love it, so probably you can record a video showing us the good atmosphere in there. Hasta luego Che!
Ahahaha yes, the felucca rides! I did make a RUclips Short about one of the many felucca rides I have been on quite some time ago: ruclips.net/video/YC1bITC3wSE/видео.html But it is only a very short clip. Usually it is such a party atmosphere with loud music that I don't bother filming 😅I haven't been on a felucca for some time now. Maybe if I go again I will make a longer video. But the music playing on the boats always gets copyrighted on RUclips, and I am usually partying and perhaps not in the best condition to make a decent video....😂
@Gventures Hello Giselle, okay.yes I understand it..but thank you for sending the videoclip...haha..yes I see the atmosphere that I like when I take the ride. I am shy to get up and dance..so I just enjoy the ride watching all this. hasta luego Che!
You are right about the juice shops, they are amazing! However, I refrain from going there and no resort to making my own because I am concerned about the water they use. I am assuming it is tap water which is not ideal. I make mine with bottled. Still have to get the sugarcane from them because it cannot be made at home. Thanks for the video!
Oh that's unfortunate. I'm not sure if they are using tap but if they are I bet it's filtered. Anyway, I have never gotten sick from the juices, and I don't know anyone else that has either, so that's comforting, for those who are concerned about that.
Need vedio for your experience being in egypt more than one year To tell us how is life in egypt as a foreigner and how egyption deals or treat you and more details about being for long time in egypt I like your vedios ❤
I am intending to visit Cairo and some incentive through your videos, please will you advise me the good areas to stay as i was looking on Airbnb, Zamalek Nasar city or down town in Cairo. thanks
I wouldn't stay in Nasr City, that's too far away. I prefer downtown, but Zamalek is still pretty close to everything while being tucked away on the island, so a little more quiet and green. No matter where you stay, you will almost always need an Uber to get somewhere, the distances are very large here. Unless you love walking a lot 😅 Zamalek you can walk around and explore a little but, same with downtown Cairo, but it's just going to be shops and restaurants and just observing daily life and the streets. When you actually want to get anywhere and have a destination in mind, you're probably going to need wheels of some kind. I don't know if you saw this video or not, but I talk about the neighborhoods I recommend a little bit. ruclips.net/video/Il6pZFgyl_I/видео.html Also, not sure what kind of traveler you are (old or young, preference of hotel or hostel, private room or dorm, etc). But if you don't mind staying in dorms, I made a video about my top 5 favorite hostels in downtown Cairo. Many of them have private rooms as well as dorms. Something to consider. ruclips.net/video/zRG8qvqFNrc/видео.html
@Gventures I like to stay independent and cook my own food hot and spicy whilst all Arabia Morocco and Egypt eat very mild. Therefore, I like my own food. At one time, I was used to walking a lot now. I became tired and exhausted due to age factors. Anyway, thanks a lot. I shall look downtown.

Hello ,love your channel, i have read there is some difficulties to make e-visa, some people simple just not getting approved, they apply again and got rejected and not getting any refund, some people even apply three times...is that just urban legends or reallity ?
Really? I have never heard of that happening. But to be fair, I don't know many people that get an e-visa in advance. Most people I know just get a visa on arrival (myself included) and if they want to stay longer they go to the immigration office and extend it.
It's probably the only thing i miss about cairo . i been to many south east asian countries in which everyone talks about tropical fruits all fresh and abundant bla bla, i only got coloured water and stomachache ... add humidity to the menace 😔

Hello Giselle, when I've watched this video, one USD is no longer 30, but it is almost 47 EGP. It is good for the tourist but definetely not for the locals. As you were passing by the museum of Egyptian, I didn't see any pedestrian crosswalk. How do people manage without enough croswalks?
Hahahaha! Yes that's very observant of you to have noticed that about the Egyptian Museum, there is no crosswalk 🤣 So tourists that walk there themselves are dashing across the road for their lives 😆😆 A nice "Welcome to Egypt!" for them 😂
@@Gventures I used to use this 🙏emoji for 'pray', but somebody has brought it to my attention that Muslims use a different emoji for pray🤲. Nowadays I use both emoji. If the traffic is the way I see in these videos (without pedestrian crosswalks) as a 65+ person, I think I'm going to need a lot of these🙏🙏🙏🤲🤲🤲 P.S. I'll continue watching your videos. @@mahmutlevent4297 Oh haha, I see. That's thoughtful of you 🤲😁 Don't worry too much about the streets, people will stop in their cars for people crossing (even if it doesn't look like it 😅). There's always some Egyptian about to cross the street, just walk right next to them and easy peazy, you're on the other side. Glad to hear you're going to be visiting the temple of Hathor, that's my favorite temple!!! Not only is it absolutely stunning for multiple reasons, but there tends to be less tourists because it's a bit out of the way. Something I did not do (which I really screwed up!) was not seeing the relief of Cleopatra VII and Caesarion at the Dendera Temple. It's outside, in the back of the temple, make sure you see it while there!

Do they sell at that one the cactus juice? I had that for the first time when I was in Egypt, I believe on my second trip there. LOL, not a fan of Turkish coffee though. I was thrilled when I found out Cairo has Dunkin Donuts there, and I love DD's coffee, so I was a happy camper. 😂 By the way how in the world do you drive on a motorbike in Cairo? You have some guts! LOL! I am a pretty experienced driver, but even I wouldn't have the guts to drive there. 🤣
I am not entirely sure what you mean by "that one cactus juice," this place as so many different types of juices it's ridiculous. I do love Turkish coffee, but I've always loved espresso and strong flavors in general. I learned how to drive a motorcycle here in Cairo. It wasn't easy because it's always so busy and there is nowhere to practice, but it taught me to be a better driver. I love it

I did make a RUclips Short about one of the many felucca rides I have been on quite some time ago: ruclips.net/video/YC1bITC3wSE/видео.html
But it is only a very short clip.
Mnore be Nssehaa 😉
nice
I learned how to say some fruits and beverage in arabic yesterday
Haha, congrats man! Now just don't forget them 😅 It's helpful to know that stuff when at a shop like this
@@Gventures😄
You have a beautiful smile BTW
Thanks
you are driving like us 😂😂😅
You are right about the juice shops, they are amazing!
Need vedio for your experience being in egypt more than one year

I don't know if you saw this video or not, but I talk about the neighborhoods I recommend a little bit. ruclips.net/video/Il6pZFgyl_I/видео.html
Also, not sure what kind of traveler you are (old or young, preference of hotel or hostel, private room or dorm, etc). But if you don't mind staying in dorms, I made a video about my top 5 favorite hostels in downtown Cairo. Many of them have private rooms as well as dorms. Something to consider. ruclips.net/video/zRG8qvqFNrc/видео.html
@Gventures thanks for your detailed reply. I will be 60 in February. I saw your video top hostels in Cairo downtown. Uber bike, I prefer. Thanks
While you drive I feel how adventurer you are by deciding to take sharp manoeuvres in a very short time ,, It seems that you acquired the Egyptian driving bad habits ,, 🤓😅😅
Take care and drive safely ,,
I Apprecie your videos as it ( unlike others ) shows the nice side of Egypt and the Egyptians ,, 🌹🌹❤️🥰😍,,
Haha, shukran! I will try to remember to drive carefully, I know sometimes I feel a bit cocky and get reckless and that is when accidents happen. Ba7eb Masr! ❤

Nice video..keep it up girl 👏
12:25 a Minor Correction 😉👇
Meesh sukar = It is not sugar
Bedon sukar = No\without sugar
Lol, oh no way! Thank you for that correction. I will have to remember that next time 🙏

It's probably the only thing i miss about cairo .
i been to many south east asian countries in which everyone talks about tropical fruits all fresh and abundant bla bla, i only got coloured water and stomachache ... add humidity to the menace 😔
Yes I love the juice shops in Egypt! There's lots of great fruits in Asia, I've tried a lot of them myself (and sugarcane juice) and enjoyed them in SEA, but Egypt does the juice better 😎
@@Gventures Brazil was the best place i visited and as fruits lover also , it's just wonderful country and lovely people .
so... enjoy your travels n stay safe .

@@Arab--Man Haven't been to Brazil yet, but I've heard great things, can't wait to visit myself. My father is from Argentina so next time I'm there to visit family I will have to stop in Brazil, I've wanted to for a long time
As a juicer myself your supposed to consume right away because the quality and health value expires immediately so just something for you to consider about fresh juices friend
Hahahaha! Yes that's very observant of you to have noticed that about the Egyptian Museum, there is no crosswalk 🤣 So tourists that walk there themselves are dashing across the road for their lives 😆😆 A nice "Welcome to Egypt!" for them 😂
@@Gventures 😄😄😄🤔🤔🤔🤲🤲🤲
@@mahmutlevent4297 🤲🤲what's this emoji?
@@Gventures I used to use this 🙏emoji for 'pray', but somebody has brought it to my attention that Muslims use a different emoji for pray🤲. Nowadays I use both emoji. I'm planning to spend 2 days in Luxor, 2 days in Aswan and 1.5 days in Cairo in the late October of this year. If the traffic is the way I see in these videos (without pedestrian crosswalks) as a 65+ person, I think I'm going to need a lot of these🙏🙏🙏🤲🤲🤲
P.S. I'll continue watching your videos. Actually, after seeing temple of Hathor video, I have decided that it is a 'must see' place. I'll try to see it as well. Best regards.
@@mahmutlevent4297 Oh haha, I see. That's thoughtful of you 🤲😁 Don't worry too much about the streets, people will stop in their cars for people crossing (even if it doesn't look like it 😅). You can also just find a local to cross the street with, that's usually my recommendation.
It's outside, in the back of the temple, make sure you see it while there!
your apartment? what happened the HOLY SHEET HOSTEL?
Holy Sheet?! I only stayed there for two months, but I've been in Egypt for 2 years. I found an apt and moved when I decided I was going to stay and live in Egypt
9:20
Cop: "I've known you for 30 years, never once did you offer me a free snack!"
That's hilarious haha
🤣 That's so hilarious. Sorry, random guy that never got a free snack!
I love it
@@Gventures It's called Opuntia, more commonly called the prickly pear cactus, and where I was at in Cairo, I tried some for the first time. It was actually not bad at all. The juice you got from there did look good.
In Arabic it's called Teen shoki (spiky fig) is the literal translation 😂
@@amrhamdy2461 LOL, thank you! I really enjoyed that drink.
It might be better if you say, Instead of ( Shooya Sukar), you could say ( Sukar Kafif)= light sugar, Zero Sugar = Bedoon Sukar, Extra Sugar= Sukar Zeada, Mild Sugar= Sukar Mazboot. 😊
I do this for coffee, but not at the juice shop 😆
Good job 👍🏼👏🏼 but sukar khafif 😅 edit please .. and keep going

I don't know when the Egyptian Ministry of Transport would introduce an old invention called lane lines road markings to the motorways and the streets in Egypt! And also zebra crossings!
Well, some roads do have painted lines for lanes. But everyone knows, they're just for decoration 😆

Dear if you could explain us with price, it will be grateful for us 💖
Explain what? I don't understand what your question is. I give several examples of the cost of things in the video. I say the cost of the juice in the video
What I miss most about Egypt! All the freshly squeezed fruit juice you can have! Dirt cheap too!
"Showaia Sukkr" you said
He might understand it as a bit more sugar plz
Instead you could say;
Sukker Aolayy-ill
Or simply say Sukker diet, most Egyptians understand diet, used in Egyptian daily conversions
Aolayy-ill; in standard Arabic is قليل
In case you wanted to try it on Google translate
But in Egyptian dialect we pronounce it as I tried to pronounce it to you in written English letters
Yeah my boyfriend is from Cairo so I know, I ask him questions anytime I need help with Arabic, but I don't always remember that stuff in the moment
