His lyrics might be cringe and his vocals aren't the greatest but Fred's character and charisma help massively. His stage presence/physical play style along with his sound wrapped up in a mysterious and freaky costume on stage Is a whole other element to Wes Borland that makes him such a badass player.

I want to add that he was genuinely my favorite musician to chat with. and he spoke to us for an hour while his bandmates were on the bus with my friends girlfriend. Not a train,, Several other dudes gfs went on that bus too, I don't wanna single him out like that. We had to sneak under the fence near their tour bus. Wes gave me a budwieser that night. So did Kid Rock but he was too drunk to have a conversation with. ..and who knows? maybe they did bust a train on her, I was hanging with Wes.

I love that Fred is playing into the boomer 80s old man persona. It's so funny, Fred and LB were their own style and yes it is amazing to see the band together, atleast Wes and Fred (idk the rest of the members). I'm sure it helps not touring nonstop for decades

Wes is by far one of the most expressive guitarists of its time, delivering precise riffs... And I am not talking about shredding, but about energy and heaviness. It's like heavy poetry coming straight from the amps that punches you right to the face not to knock you out but take you down and make you want to get up and thrash around.
Limp Bizkit was perfect. Every member was such an integral part of the band. Wes fit Limp Bizkit perfectly. Had he been in any other band, nobody would call him underrated, because they wouldn't even know who he is. LB style is Wes and Wes is the LB style. Him and Fred, Sam, John & Lethal were the perfect blend.
For this recording, I basically used the VST "ignite" amp and the corresponding cabinet impulses ("nadir"), simulating v30 speakers. Then, there's some EQing and that's mostly it :)
It's mostly listening to the songs and figuring it out by ear - as well as watching live stuff (if it's available). Most of the tabs around are wrong, in my experience :)

I haven't heard it when playing on my acoustic as much as I hear it now when I am messing around with electric 🤔 And trying to tab it from snippets of him playing it live. Limp Bizkit was a really unique band. I think "Three Dollar Bill Y'all" is a classic album of that era right up there with "Adrenaline" and "Korn".
Wes is certainly an underrated guitarist. His playing can be harsh and gritty, but also beautifully melodic.
