I'm in the same boat 🤣 shiny things just get me lol but I'm trying to hold myself accountable better with over buying. But of course.. I HAVE WAY MORE THAN WE NEED 🤣
Love My Father's world! My kids just finished Adam to us, it's great. Guilty as charged for trying all the new things and then getting overwhelmed 😅. Too many great options!
I absolutely purchase things and then forget about them. I've started being super intentional in keeping track of the things that I have so that I won't forget. We used Heaven and Earth last year and loved it! I relate way too well to the internet issues you have!!!! :) We're doing the Living Art Lessons from MB this year as well. I'm not good with art, so I'm very thankful for the gentle approach that Master Books offers to art.
We LOVED the book I Am and will be reading God's Promises this upcoming school year. I laminated big flashcards with each name and then put one up each week on our refrigerator. I've recommended the book to many families because it's just so nicely written.
we loved gods design (science) as well. we love notgrass as well. i would do it again if I didnt have so many noisy daycare kids in my house but its hard for me to use curriculums with so much reading. living art lessons is SO amazing...I wish they had a 2nd edition cuz I want to do it again.
Yes please expand on your morning basket! Also, can you explain the morning basket? What is its purpose? How is it used? Why is it utilized throughout homeschooling?? In I'm new to homeschooling this year. While it has always been my dream to homeschool, I'm starting to delve into things a bit more and this is a topic that I have seen quite a bit but don't understand. Thank you so much! Love your videos!
Morning basket is definitely not a must-have for homeschooling, but a lot of homeschoolers include some gentle family morning work in it to start the day :) You can take it anywhere in the house or outside! I include things like poetry, a read aloud, Spanish practice, Bible, etc. but you can customize it for your family!
Love seeing your picks!! Maybe this will help you with music. We do composer study the Charlotte Mason way. I pick 3 composers that coordinate with our history. Since you’re doing world history, you could go with anyone! Then for each 12 week term, we read a little bit about the composer’s life and then listen to one of their pieces each week. If they’re interested, then read a little about the pieces before or after. If not, then just have a good time listening. 😍 Simply Charlotte Mason has these already put together if you want to go that route rather than piecing together.
We did "Our Star Spangled Banner" last year & doing "Our 50 States" this year - you will LOVE it! Simple lessons, lots of great info, & I learned right along with my son
Love you , love your videos, Love your intros😂! You're amazing! Agreed wanna buy every pretty homeschool thing lol gotta real it back it in all the time! I would love to see a flip through of God's Design! Peek in your morning basket, YES! I'm always curious what others use and gives me great ideas!
We’re using Notgrass’ Our Star Spangled history this year. I can’t wait to start it! We’re also doing a composer study with the same book ❤️ If time allows, we’re going to learn about some different poets as well.
OOhh, just downloaded the Simple Spanish Unit 1 for FREE😀 We have just done a gentle approach so far also and this looks like a pretty addition! Thanks for sharing!
Would love to see flip through of science and notgrass! On music, maybe one of your kids will show an interest in music, and you'll be more motivated to branch out into the music theory curriculum. I can see how it would be unappealing if your kids aren't that interested yet. I feel that way about art. My daughter is soooo artistic and naturally loves art, so I am more motivated to delve deeper into it😬 lol!! Would love to hear how you like the master books art!
Love your family unit pics! We are using several from Masterbooks this year. Doing Zoology for science but would love to see how your kids like the Heaven and Earth book as well as a flip through. We also used Notgrass’ Our Star Spangled Story last year and have been curious about their “From Adam to Us.” We do science and history one at a time for two to three weeks so we can really focus on them and line up living books from the library. Our more classic subjects…Bible stories, poetry, music, art, hymns, literature/fairy tales, manners etc. are on a loop. We do one or two a day. Blessings on your school year!
We are doing Gods Design Heaven and Earth this year also! We have done Gods design for life and also the physics one! I have already purchased the chemistry one for next year. This is our 9th year of homeschool and we love that science the most of the ones we have tried!
We have SUCH similar interests in curriculum! We LOVE Notgrass! Using Our 50 States this year - used Our Star Spangled Banner last year. I don't think I'll ever leave Notgrass! For science this year we're trying Science Shepherd, which is all online. If that doesn't meet our needs, then I think we'll try Masterbooks' Science next year. We're using SQUILT Live this year, but not sure if it's a perfect fit for us. And for spelling, we're using 180 Days of Spelling & Word Study - very similar to Evan Moor. I wanted to try All About Spelling this year, but I'm like you in that I prefer a more traditional approach. For Bible, we are trying "Word in Motion" by Apologia - we plan on doing 1 lesson a week on Sundays. And we also love the "I Am" devotional book! I find myself learning right along with my son
Thank you for sharing! Yes, I want to everything homeschool related too. I have toned it down this year though . Lol I would love to see a flip through of your science curriculum. I almost bought this year. I am very curious about it . My older son who will be doing 4th grade this year might like it. Oh, I hear about music, it stresses me out. Love art though. We are doing a beak art projects and how to teach art to kids this year! Have a great day!
My daughter is going to be using the Adam to Us as well. This is our first year homeschooling and that was the first curriculum we purchased. It looks really great. I love the family activities it has as well. I’d love to hear what your kids think about this through the year.
Oh I am a super over-buyer. Even now, I've shared all of the curriculum I'm going to be using for this next school year but I'm still seeing new-to-me beautiful resources being shared by other homeschooling mamas and I WANT IT ALL. I'm doing a pretty decent job of resisting 😅 I'm not sure how long I can endure, but hopefully we can get through our first term without me needing anything else 🙃 We also love Notgrass! We take it slow so we're on Part 2 of OSSS for this upcoming school year. Can't wait to do World History with From Adam to Us!
I’m looking at a lot of the same picks! My older two are a little younger (1st and 2nd grade this year). Next school year I am thinking about Notgrass OSSS. Science still has me baffled! Masterbooks looks great for older elementary!
We live very rurally too!! The internet thing can be such an issue. I’m in no way connected with them, just wanted to share what has worked for us, but look into Starlink internet. We hadn’t been able to get any internet besides Hughsnet, which is awful!, till Starlink came out. It’s super easy to set up and we now have an internet that lets us stream! It’s been a lifesaver for homeschool!! Going along with that, for music we started Prodigies this year. It’s not really music history but teaches notes and actually how to learn to read music. Definitely recommend!!
@@OneBlessedMess oh bummer!! Well definitely look into it, it’s been amazing! We’ve had 5 things all streaming video at the same time and it’s ever had to stop and buffer lol. Thanks for the awesome video, it gave me some great ideas to add to our rotation this year!
I’d love to hear how you are liking From Adam to us! We did our 50 states from Notgrass last year and we are doing MFW ECC this year and I like it but I don’t love the science nor do much of the art or Bible … I was considering biblioplan next year after watching Pennies and salt but I have From Adam to us on my bookshelf lol my big boys next year will be 3rd, 5th and 7th
How long do you spend per day homeschooling? I'm scared of homeschooling my 3. They'll be in prek, 1st, and 5th. How long are your school days? How do you have any time to yourself?
This is a question I have myself. Next year I will a first year homeschool momma to a 2nd and 8th grader I'm So nervous but so excited at the same time!
My 6th grader is doing Heaven & Earth too! It looks great. We don’t do art or music in our homeschool 🤣 It’s not required in our state and my boys could care less. But we listen to worship/contemporary Christian music in the car at least 😂
Hey there! Regarding the master books science, it says that it’s structured to do four days a week in order to finish the entire curriculum for the year. But if I remember correctly you only do science a couple days a week, so does that mean that you tend to not finish the curriculum each year? Or how does that work? I’m trying to decide between the good and the beautiful science and the master book science. But for where life is at right now for our family, going into this new school year I definitely won’t be able to do science four days a week but also don’t like the feeling of not being able to finish a curriculum by the end of the year so I was wondering what you did regarding this? Thanks so much in advance ☺️
I want to say check out classics for kids but it's an online website thing. And without internet idk how helpful it would be. I'm sorry I use that and ambleside online. Both free but both online resources. Edited to add Classics for Kids is also a podcast!
Good morning, Mamas! ☕️ Hope you are having a wonderful start to your year (if you have started school!) Praying blessings over this school year! 💕
Hurray for simplifying! That timeline book is really nice, I like that it's not completely plain but is already partially filled in.
I'm in the same boat 🤣 shiny things just get me lol but I'm trying to hold myself accountable better with over buying. But of course.. I HAVE WAY MORE THAN WE NEED 🤣
I’d loved a flip through of the heaven & earth curriculum. ❤️

We are on our 3rd year with MFW and loving it! Thanks for sharing!

We are doing the same Science this year and so we love it!!! We love, love Notgrass too!
The Living Art Lessons looks amazing! I need to be more intentional with art too, because my kids love it!❤️

YES to show and tell! I’m learning about the different curriculums so I would love to see the inside!
I would welcome a flip through of the world history! We are finishing Star strangled , but am looking forward to what’s next!

I definitely have a curriculum buying problem lol
I have the same problem 🤦♀️ I'm also interested in the flip through. Flip through has helped me decided so many things.

Do you think you will use the Star Spangles Story with your preschooler over again once they get older?

I over bought textbooks for my eldest son and found I had too many workbooks we have been busy doing over summer.
