As I said somewhere in the description - " Wyll's 'I forgive you' and Shart's 'I thought we would save each other' broke my heart, but something tells me that my last words will be closer to Karlach and Spawn Astarion's 'GFY' 😆
I am the only one who thinks Wyll's "We were meant to save the world - not damn it. You and I. Together..... I... I forgive you." has a similar energy to Obi-Wan's "You were the chosen one! It was said that you would destroy the Sith, not join them! Bring balance to the Force, not leave it in darkness!..... You were my brother, Anakin. I loved you."
1:42 something about the way Gale says this makes my heart ache. It's kinda like what non-romanced spawn Astarion says, but subtler, weaker. There's so much fear and despair in Gale's voice and expression, it's like he's in a feverish kind of denial, hoping to wake up from a nightmare
Fantastic combination of heartbreaking and justifiably furious (both of Spawnstarion's, damn!), then Minsc's is straight out, "What are you gonna do with that big bat? Gonna hit me? Better make it count. Better make it hurt. Better kill me in one shot."
Something about Wyll’s frustration and confusion of his lover dooming the world after having saved it, probably being so overwhelmed with shock and different emotions just to land on a helpless “I forgive you” in his final moments is INCREDIBLY fucked up. I fucking love Wyll
All of the reactions were what I expected from a great cast of characters.... But Shadowheart, free of shar, ripped me apart. "I thought we were going to save each other." Sounded like she was on the verge of tears and heartbreak. I'm kinda glad these endings came out, just so I truly know what would happen if that power got in to anyone's hands, and why it needs to be eradicated.
Halsin's yell, Shadowheart's broken heart when she said "i thought we were gonna save each other", Will's "I forgive you" and Karlach's "Fuck you" hit the most.
damn, spawn astarion’s fury at your choice to be evil just hits different. also 4:06 something about halsin needing to take two breaths before he just ends up just appealing to his god for forgiveness (and he says "us", in a way blaming himself as much as Durge)…like he is FURIOUS, righteously so, and then in the span of one exhale the fight goes out of him and it’s like he gives in to despair. exquisite acting/direction. i love it (painfully).
it’s probably been said a million times but my god the voice acting is SO GOOD. the casting directors managed to do something incredible with this cast, what talent
So I know there’s not one thing not fucked about these endings, but it’s *extra* fucked kissing Astarion here, right? You used intimacy as a weapon against him one final time. His final moments are spent realizing he was betrayed by someone who he would’ve done anything for. But he was thrown away the moment he grew to be an inconvenience. He was utterly meaningless to them in the end. Also, shout out to 4:45. That laugh is Joker worthy.
I love how un-romanced spawn Astarion is so disgusted by you that his first "No" sounds just like he's gonna vomit and spit on you. Kudos to Neil for this perfect delivery.
Astarion's entire life, sex and intimacy were just weapons to be wielded, he was forced to seduce people and lure them to their deaths. And then Durge does the same to him. Lures him in with one last kiss, a cloak of fake love to hide the dagger behind his back. That was _super_ fucked up.
My fav romance in a Durge run is redeemed Shadowheart. The symmetry of them both leaving the service of dark gods and having to discover who they really are together is just *chef's kiss* perfection. Jennifer's tearful delivery of "we were supposed to save each other" hit me like a 10 ton truck. Every VA knocked it out of the park, but even among such esteemed company, Jennifer English and Neil Newbon stand out.
Holy shit, why do the non-romance ones go harder than the romance ones?! Spawn Astarion’s and Gale’s are especially cold. “Maybe this is what I deserve for all my sins”??? “A ruined world for a poisoned soul”??? I should have expected such prose from Gale
i really like that each character really has their distinct dialogue depending not only their personality but also their lore the way karlach emphasized on betrayal, selunite shart “save each other”, while her shar self just said embrace the darkness, and spawn astarion acted kinda like karlach, anger, but ascended astarion acted like minthara, betrayed, because both of them supported durge decision until they were killed, everything in this ending is just chef kiss. it captures complexities of each character really well
Okay but the second dialogue option at the very end is one of the toughest lines we could possibly say lmao. Might do a whole playthrough just for that alone
How often do you get to hear Halsin yelling like this? Not as many people mention that in these comments but I really appreciated Halsin's fury when he said "Only for you to cast it all away!"
Omg I was waiting to see the compilations for the romanced evil endings! (I don't need to reload a save for my evil playthrough!) Personally, my fav is Minthara's 'cause she was really loyal to you and hoped you'd rule the world with her. 🥺 Really loved her arc from start to finish. Additionally, I also loved Karlach's romanced version. 💜 I think I'm still confused why Ascended Astarion gets unalived by a simple blade though... 😅 He should survive that normally?
maybe he does survive it 😂 it just takes him off guard and still kinda hurts 😂😂😂 falls to the ground, but not his death, and needs to lie down for a bit 😂
Realistically this wouldn't kill any vampire, spawn Astarion also survives a stab in the guts in act 1 and runs away. So I guess the stab is just symbolic and in the end the tadpole will kill him (exploding his brain or something).
Sharran shadowheart is so sad. Because she still doesn't understand WHAT Shar is. Shar is applauding the destruction. Shar wants everything and everyone extinguished. And Shadowheart's soul will be left unclaimed in death, as all Sharrans are.
I just got this ending and I gotta say it would've strucken harder if it was anyone other than Minthara I got the ending with she basically tells you to sell your soul and become bhaals chosen wtf did she expect to happen Bhaal isn't exactly the god of cuddles and kisses
She thought she would be spared. Same as AA, they are both kinda delulu about that. But chances are, if you were dating AA, getting to stab him would feel pretty good instead of heartbreaking anyways.
FYI I just worked out how to get Jaheira and Minsc here, it's if you lose the duel to Orin and are cursed by Bhaal, then choose to take the brain in his name. They do not leave your party if you are cursed; only if you voluntarily accept his blessing.
@@fosaimaginator3920 Nope! Once Durge is killed, the fight reverts to the normal Tav-style Orin fight and will bring all the companions in the area back into the fight. Once Orin is defeated after that, even though Orin is defeated, Durge lost the duel so they are cursed! And Jaheira and Minsc do not hold that against them as it's not their fault, so they stay in the party.
I think, and some people said / suggested / confirmed as much, that if you 'fail' Bhaal - ( don't fight Orin, lose the duel and is not revived, etc..) Jaheira and Minsc won't fight you then, and you can still claim the Absolute in Bhaal's name at the end. So I suppose this would be the way to get their lines in-game. Me, I did it by 'cheating'/modding/save file manipulation. xD
They don't need Tadpoles to control someone, the only thing tadpoles do is to guarantee the control for a very far distance and make it permanent, the brain and mindflayers can mind control anyone without tadpoles,
Illithid psionic powers can affect and control people without tadpoles. Gortash did not have a tadpool and the Netherbrain is still able to explode his brain. Likewise, most player character illithid powers work on people without tadpoles. Using tadpoles for the purpose of mind-control instead of transformation is unique to the plot of this game, since it best fit the the purposes of the dead three chosen. Using the tadpoles linked the infected together within the illithid hivemind, allowing for long-distance subterfuge rather than overt domination obvious from its onset. 99% of the time, illithids use their innate powers to control people, rather than tadpoles.
With the current game flow, (Jaheira and Minsc fighting you once you accept Bhaal/ the Urge) I think it's really not possible. I'd have to check if it's an edge case for 'failed Bhaal' (if you skip the duel with Orin / die during the duel and it's not revived until the fight is over, etc...). In my case, my Durge refused Bhaal, so I loaded a save from the end of that run (High Hall) and just changed the flags /variables to 'accepted Bhaal' instead xD ( and so Jaheira and Minsc were still in my party) - aka I 'cheated' xD
Thank you for the compilation! The non-evil companions show real emotion and believable reactions meanwhile the evil companions are just so comical and low-key naive. There is no loyalty between evil feckers, they are going to die too. There is no 'us', especially with Bhaal's chosen 🥲
Non-romanced, Spawn Astarion's reaction is heart wrenching good grief
Wyll forgiving you even to death is just so painful to watch or Shadowheart telling you "I thought we were saving each other" is just so tragic
The anger and disappointment hits really hard. He was able to relate to Durge so much, only for them to choose giving into madness in the end.
wyll managing to forgive them in his dying moments if romanced is insane he really is a saint😭
As I said somewhere in the description - " Wyll's 'I forgive you' and Shart's 'I thought we would save each other' broke my heart, but something tells me that my last words will be closer to Karlach and Spawn Astarion's 'GFY' 😆
He really is my fave. So classy. Such a relaxing romance.
I got so fucking sad, he really shouldn’t have forgave them. He’s too good man
Wyll is a sweetheart and deserves so much better

I love non-romanced spawn Astarion's reaction. It's so believable.
"A front row seat at the end of the world". Brutal, isn't it?

Non-romanced spawn Astarion's reaction gave me the chills omg
I think i now understand why treachery is the deepest pit in hell. It hurts the most because it comes from the ones who have your deepest trust.
"I.. I forgive you.." OMG nothing beats how heartbreaking Wyll's last words are.

Karlach's last words 💀
Balls to the wall, straight-to-the-point
I love it
I don’t why I expected anything else 😂
Gale one hits hard.
Romanced Gale and Shadowheart and both versions of Spawn Astarion made my heart hurt

Gale And Wyll sayings broke my heart 😢
Minthara is SO ride or die. Fuck.
These are all heartbreaking. But the audacity of Minthara and Ascended Astarion non-romances, they straight up saying 'we' like Soviet Russia.
As a Gale girlie, “you made me want to live” just broke me
