RUclips has such a nice player, even for audio. That's why, Grey.
Especially when you have a fast connection and on computer.
The default player on the HI webpage doesn't load properly after being paused of interrupted.
It's really nice with RUclips premium, I can just download 10 episodes at once and let them rip

I was quite puzzled at that too. But since my phone contract includes 30GB and I generally live in a well covered area (most of the time LTE, or else HSPA), I don't care.

Now that I am mid-way into the podcast, it makes sense in a jokey sort of way.
Brady, 9 is an epic number! (10 is way overrated). . The sum of digits of any whole number multiplied by 9 always adds up to 9. If you take any two digit number, then sum it's digits, and then subtract that sum from the original two digit number, and keep repeating that until you reach a single digit, the result will always be 9. And BONUS: 9 play buttons would fit perfectly in a 3x3 grid. So send that button over to Grey!

I find trivia like this unimpressive. You found a sequence that always makes nine, but it takes so many steps that it's almost like you designed it to do that. It's too specific to me. When I read "fun facts" like this I think of the joke "Imagine how old you are + 5. That's your age in five years."

I've been listening to the podcast in reverse order starting with 69. I'm at 31! I didn't think what I'd do if one came out before I was done; but I'm here, so I suppose I have my answer.
Now you've got to start over, or else you can't have the continual experience, you know. 70, 69, 68... It'll be harder and harder to catch down before the newest episode, but at least you'll always have some episode you haven't listened to yet available.
I'm sure some day I'll re-listen to every one of them; but today is not that day! I'll continue on from where I left off (30 mins into ep 31) and continue backwords until the point (somewhere around episode.. 7?) where I, when listening to new videos, stopped listening.
you could just watch the episodes backwards, in incriments of 15 minutes.
things will become clear to you that you didn't understand not only every episode, but every quarter of an hour a complete sentence will appear.

Why I prefer listening on youtube:
The size of the search bar, plain and simple. The tiny player on the website makes it impossible to skip back and listen to something you missed. And god forbid you should ever click on a shownotes link, and lose your place.

I've been listening to the podcast while knitting at my grandma's house while visiting for the holidays. But my family likes to talk when we have free time together. So I have been alternating being the silent third person of the podcast and my family's conversation about every 10 minutes.
I prefer listening on RUclips because I can watch on 1.5 Speed while browsing Reddit.

Forgive me if this sounds dumb, but I wasn't even aware there was an alternative to listening on youtube
I really liked the analogy of public right of way at the end - I think that really does seem like the best way this should be treated. As a side note though - you didn't put the photos you were talking about into the youtube video - i went to the show notes to go see them, but it probably would have been good if they'd been put into the video itself so we could look as you spoke about them :) just a note for the future really - keep up the great work!

The problem with RUclips heroes is the 'mass flagging'. I mean, when would that EVER be useful? You get to flag a bunch of videos you didn't even watch? Since when did flagging take too much time?
frankly, I think that is the useful bit.Most channels that consistently upload vids where they just break rules and harras people don't get their videos flagged much because the people who would care aren't going to watch those channels in the first place. Those channels do deserve to get mass flagged.
That much power can easily be abused
FUS RO DAH even if someone flagged all the videos on youtube, that power isn't abused. All that would happen if someone mass flagged non violating content is 0 videos get taken down, they lose the weight of their flags, and they wasted some time of an employee at youtube.
After the first 10 or so vids they masss flagged are checked their now lower flag weight would probably mean that rest of the vids they flagged aren't even checked until someone else also flags them

I prefer the RUclips version mainly because it saves where I left of but also because I can switch platforms. I very rarely have enough time to listen to it in one go so I want something simple that saves where I left off minus a 20sec or something. So yea I want the RUclips version on the same day at least :)

RUclips should have a feature that does not allow comments until at least X minutes after the video has been posted, where X equals the length of the video. This would, hypothetically, encourage actually watching the video before you make a comment on it...

there is one thing you seem to be missing in your conversation about youtube heros, mob flaging. flaging becouse 1) the content creator said something they disagree with. 2) flaging becouse the content creator is invlolved in some sort of internet drama. 3) flagging becouse "LOL TROLL #YOLO" or whatever those ideots say.

Well I'd have liked to do that Harry's trial thing, but on further investigation it seems like they only ship to North America, despite all the stuff about them being manufactured in Germany. Shame. :(
