I’m finally coming to terms with my sexuality and this made me cry like a baby because I know how afraid I am to be in a relationship with a girl and face all the struggles and stigmas .... but this was a reminder of how beautiful it can be

It's definitely not as bad as it used to be, but you're still going to notice when people stare, especially if it's a hateful/dirty look. Hell, we just celebrated our 10th last fall, but my wife and I still notice the really obnoxious people and I'd be lying if I said it didn't bother me. The difference now is we'll talk about it and then laugh later, but we're also way better at reading the situation and whether we need to leave or not. When we go see her family though... it's a little town in Ghana. *Weeks* without being able to walk too close or even share a bed, it makes me appreciate how good we really have it in the US. Find the closest LGBT center or queer bar with meeting groups (once it's safe to again obv) and build up a support network, straight friends and family can be the most amazing in the world and there's still gonna be things they can't relate to or help you with, it was the best piece of advice I got when I first came out. Hope this finds you safe and healthy!
It is difficult, to "come out" over and over again in different environments (though this does get easier with time). However, I will say, to live and be authentically you is such an amazing feeling!

It is almost chilling to see how much this relationship resembled my own. I am Orion in this situation and my girlfriend was Britt. It was my first relationship with a girl and I was very insecure and weird and very much the shy nerdy kind of girl. My girlfriend was much more experienced in relationships, she wasn't afraid to put herself out there, she was confident and was much better at talking to people.
Nobody could understand our relationship because we were so so different, I barely understood it.
But when we were alone we found just as many similarities as differences, and it is in these we found each other. She was just as weird and nerdy and insecure as I was, she just carried it differently.
We were together for 1 year until our differences caught up to us and it was taking too much pain and too much effort to make it work.
I did learn a lot and it was one of the most sincere relationships I've ever had.

Aditi Jain I think being "the insecure one" isn't always a bad thing. Whatever youve been through in the past must have surely helped you "grow" then, right? It's not a bad thing to question yourself and everything surrounding you. If you were 100% comfortable and cool then that's not fun because you could end up being really bored. I've been on both sides of "the insecure one" and to me, I got way more out of questioning myself and everything attached. Working harder is always the most rewarding. Even if its just your crazy brain 😂 Just my opinion on it though.

I don't think seeing it from the outside we could guess the power dynamic of a relationship. I'm pretty sure everybody acts differently when they're alone vs when they have 3 cameras right in their face and 20 softbox and white lights over their head, plus 200k+ people watching the video afterwards.

As a bisexual, it is frustrating to see how others can view us, including those in the lgbt community. We then second guess our feelings and thoughts in the beginning because everyone is questioning us, even the community that is to embrace us. I feel for the brunnette, with time she will grow more comfortable in her sexuality. I wish bisexuals and transgenders had as much focus put on them and their journeys as gays and lesbians do these days because we are still deeply behind and misunderstood in comparison. I also feel bad she has such low self-esteem and anxiety. I have that too and it hasn't gotten better. I just relate to her a lot. She seems really sweet.

I really feel like lesbian femmes have it harder. At least when you come out as bisexual ppl aren't like "u don't look bisecual" bc there is no one way to look as a bisexual. but lesbians are portrayed to dress masculine and to look like men so when a girly girl comes out as lesbian ppl give her so much shame saying how she isn't actually lesbian, making her basically feel invisible and make her wanting to try to change the way she dresses just to prove to ppl that she's actually lesbian. cs since she's girly ppl assume that she's either a confused straight girl or a bisexual

You guys have the whole fucking dating pool. You win all the time. You know, as a gay woman, there is basically no one around to date, you got like five people that are compatible with you in one city. As a bisexual you got tons of people to choose from. I know that coming out when you're not in a gay relationship is pretty hard bc there are lot's of people that won't believe you, but you got straight people to blame for that who only ever made out with one girl/guy and then tell everyone "oh I'm bi" like fuck no, if you wouldn't date a woman and just didn't find those girl's lips disgusting you're not bi. As a gay girl distinguishing that is pretty hard. Also, whenever there is a breakup, the bi girl has all the chances and the gay is back to dating her exes' exes. So seriously, don't think so much about it, if you're really into someone they will notice and if not, you'll find someone else. Being bi really seems like the best thing ever to me.

I'm just really annoyed how butthurt people get when someone else has a genuine concern. Having a family with a man is simply a lot easier and if I was bi and wanted to have children, I would consider this a good reason to date a man sinply because it's easier for the children as well. Having doubts about that as a partner at first is completely rational and has nothing to do with bophobia. The woman in the video never said her partner being bi was a serious reason not do date her. Saying you were concerned once is not something that should offend people that don't have serious issues with their self worth.

Thank you, exactly. Lots of people were saying how we who see a disconnect are only comparing them to mainstreamed romances. But truthfully you can just sense it. Britt told Orion in several ways that she doesn’t want anything too serious too fast. & Orion already fell too deep to a point of no return. They would be great friends.
Everyone in this comments section keeps going off about how different they are from each other and that they're going to break up because of it... People need to realize that not everyone has to have a partner that's exactly like them. Sometimes you need a bit of the opposite. Maybe Orion needs someone who is more calm and reserved to help her feel calmer and keep her grounded. And maybe Britt needs someone who's more eccentric to bring her out of her shell. You guys might be seeing negatives, but all I see are two beautiful ladies helping each other grow.
