      @lexfridman - Thank you for your podcast. I didn’t even need to watch this one because I know the story and don’t need to hear Ackman lie. I think that Bill Ackman is a complete dirtbag and con artist. I despise people like him. All he did was sell short on Herbalife, then artificially influenced the market to get the stock price to drop. Thank God Carl Icahn was there to take the opposite position and scalp Ackman for $1B. Ackman’s claims against Herbalife were all investigated by the FTC and SEC, but no wrongdoing by the Herbalife business was found and there’s no enforcement actions taken against Herbalife. I don’t believe Ackman is a true billionaire through honest hard work. From all appearances, Ackman tried to disparage this company so he could gain a massive profit. What is so dirty about Ackman is that he has made his money off the backs of retail investors who do not have access to manage a hedge fund and influence the market. Ackman can direct those managers to do his bidding and bilk the retail investors out of their hard-earned money, which destroys their American dream. Carl Icahn’s investment in Herbalife drew the line in the sand against Ackman, who doesn’t appear to have any morals or integrity. Ackman looked to destroy the lives of the Herbalife employees and customers for his own greed.

    I just want to comment, the interview was fantastic, but I also want to credit Lex and his team for the quality of sound. I have had hearing issues over the past 4 years, hyper sensitive to the poor sound, that is all over this new internet form of media and information, a lot of times the sound is overlooked, you just accept it. But when it's dialed in, it is such a treat. And every time I listen I am so pleased in the interviews but also the great Sound!

Does Ackman fund Rufo's foundation?). I totally believe the anonymous Jamaican cab driver story is representative; how about talking to pharmaceutical patients who were price-gouged by Valeant during the Ackman time? Overall, the professors on the panel did an incredible job and was happy to be a Dartmouth student that day. Exactly!! Remember when Bill Ackman went on CNBC and screamed at the financial world for 23 minutes talking about the collapse of the world due to COVID??? AT THE SAME TIME he was shorting stocks and the market, MAKING BILLIONS!! Then when he knew the market was bottoming, he flipped his trading position and went long on the market when he knew the fed was going to inject massive stimulus. But needless to say, our memories are too too short.
      But let’s dig further on Bill Ackman! He’s the same douche bag who had to go after the Harvard President for plagiarizing her dissertation (I get and agree on the consequences for her). But when Bill Ackman’s wife admits to her own plagiarizing of her dissertation, he like any good scumbag, justifies it away and goes after Business Insider for horrible reporting, and then like the world class scumbag that he is, he cheers on people losing their job.
      I get the news industry isn’t trustworthy or even really valuable like they once were, but to cheer people losing their jobs is the depths humanity.

    Gaza is functionally a concentration camp populated by minors and descendants of refugees forcefully displaced by Israeli militias. These people live in an incredibly densely populated arid territory and are constantly bombed, spied on, isolated from trade, blockaded from basic neccesities etc.

    I think Lex let Bill Ackman off the hook on the question of free speech. Bill Ackman advocated for not hiring Harvard students who did not share his same view. This is the opposite of free speech. Bill certainly some good points but if Lex wanted to be an objective interviewer than he should have pressed him more on this when asking him about using his influence to get Harvard to change.

    • @omegaofgaia
      @omegaofgaia 8 месяцев назад

      I don't know who this ackman guy is but, not hiring harvard students who don't share his same view has nothing to do with free speech, this is about putting together a watch with cooperative cogs. Harvard is disliked not for its position, but the fact that it overall is an extreme position. Same can be said for the other side. As much as i hate to do it, we would all do better if more of us were more cooperative.

    I like Ackman and find him interesting but one thing I will not agree with is his fondness for Hunter Harrison. Harrison, ruined the railroad with the introduction of PSR “Precision Railroad Scheduling”. His decisions put the lives of many railroad employees in danger by turning a blind eye to safety all in an effort to appease the shareholders with a focus on short term gain versus long term. That is a predatory corporate approach. Essentially, firms like Ackman’s are the ones behind this aggressive push for PSR and hunter worked for them, not for the railroad and its employees.

  • @markpotter544

    So basically whoever doesn't agree with akman is wrong and it shouldn't be that way. I don't necessarily disagree with the stuff he said but certainly can see the hypocrisy, tribalism and bias in his views. He probably thinks he is a nice guy but there is definitely an argument that he is not. Then feeding conspiracy theories that s some crazy stuff

    What a creature!!! He is calling for freedom of speech and then he criticizes those who do not share the same opinion with him about the attacks....Double standards!! He felt pity for the innocent who died back in October, why he doesn't feel the same about the 20,000+ innocents who died in Gaza thereafter. He is biased and proud to show it. Students in universities should be allowed to share their opinion whether or not extremist and racist people like it or not.
