I've been running a similar build (but with Spear and more dex than Int) and it's so crazy how much finish does with 3 bleed stacks. This video was extremely well done!
@@LionAD Yes! More survivable with Fort perforate on spear as it's almost max fort in 3 hits! Also you made small mistake at 8:00 in the vid giving examples of how much time bleed stacks have left, but they should always be identical, anytime you hit tondo, it refreshes/maxes any other stacks on them! Cool build, love how it has both pressure of DoT and crazy burst. I remember I was just trying to cheese DoTs with Tondo and skewer with keenly jagged in the mix, was a ton of fun in duels
I am curious how your surviving with this setup. I get 3 shot by bow or musket in OPR and no shot to get off more than 1 bleed and thats if I can catch them. There isn't a gap closer so I struggle to hit anyone whose actually paying attention. Under 10k health with 100con. 1 Bleed imo doesn't do any damage unless the guy has zero gear on so I have to try to get 2-3 off but I die in the process. The only thing I could not get from your build was empower on wep so not sure if that massively nerfs my damage. I only was able to get omni on wep. What is your advice to make this build work better in OPR? or is musket bow in OPR just a losing fight? Anything helps and greatly appreciate your dope videos.
You can’t leave yourself out in the open and need to play out of muskets LOS which can be hard. Usually if a musket is shooting you, the heals between your berserk and pots/food are enough to keep you up. Gap closers are evade itself and social distancing actually causes a root/slow, and pursuing ranged users can work but also sometimes is a bad idea, just gotta get a feel for the player you’re going up against. 1 bleed stack should do 3000-4500 damage on a light armour player, are you waiting a long time between your tondo and flourish and finish? If you let most of the tondo bleed tick away, the flourish and finish won’t do much

Planning on running this on fresh servers. I'm guessing that until I can hit 250 int, putting points into dex is just better right? Also are you able to get the int damage conversion gems at low levels?
yo im sorry i didnt see this till now! how did your fresh start levelling experience go? personally i didnt use this build for levelling but id say you can use the int conversion gems at lower levels yeah

In the intro you had a few clips with a bow. Do you change anything around when you swap to bow? Been gearing this up for the past few days and some OPRs feel like ass to play this into so Iv been swapping in the bow and it feels alright. Not a strong as a pure bow build but good enough to have some fun.
all my clips with the bow were from when i was very fresh and new to this build and then i later developed ways to purely focus on flourish and finish. you could definitely do a 300 dex/200 con or throw 50 int in there somewhere and run it with a bow for sure! just try to at least get blood letting on your ring

Just so y'all know. In the next update, there will be a food that reduces the duration of DoTs by 35(?)% for 40min. Which is a direct nerf to the rapier blood tree's damage.
So I have been playing with this on an IG build. It seems like with this build you are using the hatchet to buff your movement speed, dodge stam cost with adrenaline rush, and gaining defy death. I find with the IG build the IG primarily gives us the ability to slow enemies with ice shower and ice storm and gain temp invuln with entomb. I use ice shower mainly defensively when I want to peel, and use ice storm to chase people down. The only thing I do not like about the IG is that the IG abilities take longer than I'd like to get out. You have to be very proactive with them in my experience. I assume the hatchet build can chase people down well? Can you elaborate on the differences on playstyle?
You got the summary nailed pretty well! Hatchet is safer and I love using social distancing/rending throw offensively too, however IG does have a lot of damage potential with all that INT! It’s up to you but I personally enjoy Hatchet more

I spent about 200k last night building this build.. I must say it's extremely hard to play in Arena.. haven't tried it in OPR yet. Deffinetly need to spend more time practising.. But in Arena with everyone fire staff, bow or just ranged, they just bait me. I land a bleed and they just run. But I'm so squishy as well, a couple fire staffs and I'm done. On top of that I can't land a finisher to save my life.. literally. You deffinetly need some skill for this build which you clearly have. Very impressive plays man. Top video too, very clean engaging to watch the whole thing. Best get back to practising, I want to get good. I like bleed builds in games.
Best of luck with the build! In time you’ll find how to pick situations that are favourable for yourself because things like going in first and getting shot down by ranged users really does suck. Also sucks when people body block your finish or it misses :( And thank you for the praise!

So do bloodletting and the perk from the 250 intelligence attribute stack towards your overall DoT time? Are you getting (30 + 29)% duration? I ask for clarity because if it is in fact a 59% increase in duration, that's bonkers.
Great video, appreciate the time you put in it! I was looking what to pair with Flamethrower Fire Staff for my return to fresh servers and it is decided with this video. Could you please give more advise on decision between choosing Fleche or Riposte? I think Riposte can help turn around the fight if melee enemy is oppressing me so that they stay away and give me more time. Fleche is good for catching up or changing position to confuse enemy, but maybe Burn Out from FS would be already enough. Not sure Evade is as safe option as others for more protection, especially since they will be nerfing it.
Great vid mate, one question I have is about the opal gem. Since you have more INT than DEX, are you losing on rapier dmg by not using a Frozen gem for example?
Have you tried Heavy Puncture with this? I find hitting heavies with the rapier pretty difficult, but you could in theory stack your bleed timers to infinity and send someone to Narnia with Flourish and Finish.
hey sorry for the late reply and your english is great! i'm not too sure that this would be very good for levelling since there are a lot of perks that you need to make the build good, which can be hard to get a hold of in the early game
ice gauntlet/fire staff or bow/rapier might be a good fit for you! im not sure when/if id upload a guide for them but im sure if theres a lot of great guides out there, or just shoot me whatever questions you have!
viable as a fun build but struggling to hang on after the nerfs, i've got an updated guide on the way! and for muskets you can use it however you'll probably struggle to survive when pushed
if you had a spear or bow definitely do not go 250 int as both of those weapons are very damage reliant and you won't get much with that much into intelligence, its an unfortunate situation :(
Would you even think about pairing this with IG? Hatchet definitely seems the better choice for elusiveness plus defy death can be very clutch but I love my ice spike it's one of my favorite abilities now maybe running entomb would still make it hard to kill.
I just have 1 issue, I keep dying if I don't have 150 CON and Middle weight armor any help with that? And when I have 100 CON I only have like 8k health but I see you on 10-11k and I don't know how
I understand that! Sometimes medium armour can be more unsafe than light armour because even though you’re more tanks, you have less escape. 150 Con is definitely a good idea if you don’t like 100, especially this patch. As for how I have 10k HP I think that might just depend on Hale and Hearty town buff + health amulet
yes, but id recommend going 250 dex and putting an extra 50 int in for the bleed duration passive, and you wont lose out on too much musket damage either. it might also be tricky to survive with a musket as your secondary too, but id love to know how it goes!
There’s a ton of people on Delos running it too, I didn’t mean I was the only one who ran it, I meant I went into more depth with it than I’ve seen anyone else do e.g. taking Omnidirectional Evade on Rapier
isnt it possible to improve tondo initial dmg (and therefore the bleed and so F&F dmg) with any attunement dmg increase perks (like arboeal)? i thought this 18% dmg also works on skills.
so the attunement doesn't increase the damage of attacks, it kind of functions as its own attack if that makes sense. when you hit them with a tondo with attunement, the attunement won't affect the tondo but it will deal its own portion of damage like a separate attack, hope that made sense!

I wonder if this rapier bleed setup would be better than the "traditional" grace setup when paired with fire staff... Seems like it would be, since there's so much int in this and it'd give you a ranged option vs hatchet.
they're each meant for different purposes! my build focuses completely on making flourish and finish as strong as it can be so I just use the hatchet so I can stay close and stay alive, rather than trying to stretch myself by using a firestaff and probably dying with such low hp
@@LionAD yeah true. Firestaff probably pairs better with the more common rapier setup for the kiting capability. Though i'll still try this sometime soon, and luckily i've already put together like 10-12 different near perfectly min-maxed build sets so I should be able to piece it together if I get bloodletting ring lol
hmmm not too sure, the entire point of it is lethality so im not sure what the tanking value would be but im sure there is definitely a happy medium between tankiness/damage you could find!
been seeing lately a lot of these build on upraising. I play VG blood rapier for fun outside of my main build as its not a competitive build. Very fun to enjoy though. Sadly its a inferior blunderbuss with no utility and a long build up. But hey lets enjoy it till people start reading descriptions and figure out how to fight it!
i agree so many rapier players tried that with me and did not end well for them. I use GA / Hatched and 8 out of 10 times i can easily win the fight against rapier user who tried similar builds.
There are close to 100 clips compiled into this and if you are gonna say all of them are weak players that’s straight up insulting lmaooo However you’re right about a lot of people not knowing what’s going on, as even good players get confused when a Rapier one shots them Thanks tho
I made a tondo/finish build a while ago and I've lost count how many times I have heard it needs a nerf. It does not. This rapier build is weak against pressure. If you encounter it, just be aggressive, don't let the fight last long, but be ready at all times to press block when you see the tondo/flourish animation. If the enemy rapier bleed guy is more mobile, just keep being ready to block tondo as you slowly make your way to your team, or more favourable terrain. As long as you are blocking tondo, he can't really do much, he can't trade damage because you will both be tankier and have more dps. If you also have shirking dot cleanse or/and purify on your earring, this build does nothing. Hope this might help some of the players that think rapier bleed tree needs a nerf.
yeah there are so many avenues for counterplay against this build, ive got a video coming up about all the means of counterplay and why desert sunrise shouldnt be added to the game
I have all my gear in the armour section, and that was just to show that I was removing blood letting for the damage test I tried to be as concise as I could but there was a lot of build theory to include

Only tondo. Any other bleed interact with f&f. keenly jagged in rapier is also useless for f&f combo.

It will increase the physical damage but not the bleed burst, so I don’t recommend thwarting strikes

I made exactly the same expirience, but if the combi works .... it hits so hard .... Why somebody can block a bleeding attack? :D
Does Keenly Jagged bleed get consumed by Finish as well, or only Tondo bleeds?

No nothing changed about the empower, but there was a food added to reduce the duration of DoTs

It is receiving a nerf, a food called Desert Sunrise reduces the duration of DoTs by 17.5% :/ we’ll have to wait and see if it’ll be viable
Why did you prefer int instead of full dex?
the 250 int passive makes tondo's bleed last 30% longer, giving you a direct 30% dmg increase :)

if you had a spear or bow definitely do not go 250 int as both of those weapons are very damage reliant and you won't get much with that much into intelligence, its an unfortunate situation :(
Would you even think about pairing this with IG? Hatchet definitely seems the better choice for elusiveness plus defy death can be very clutch but I love my ice spike it's one of my favorite abilities now maybe running entomb would still make it hard to kill.

I just have 1 issue, I keep dying if I don't have 150 CON and Middle weight armor any help with that? And when I have 100 CON I only have like 8k health but I see you on 10-11k and I don't know how
I understand that! Sometimes medium armour can be more unsafe than light armour because even though you’re more tanks, you have less escape. 150 Con is definitely a good idea if you don’t like 100, especially this patch. As for how I have 10k HP I think that might just depend on Hale and Hearty town buff + health amulet

yes, but id recommend going 250 dex and putting an extra 50 int in for the bleed duration passive, and you wont lose out on too much musket damage either. it might also be tricky to survive with a musket as your secondary too, but id love to know how it goes!

There’s a ton of people on Delos running it too, I didn’t mean I was the only one who ran it, I meant I went into more depth with it than I’ve seen anyone else do e.g. taking Omnidirectional Evade on Rapier

isnt it possible to improve tondo initial dmg (and therefore the bleed and so F&F dmg) with any attunement dmg increase perks (like arboeal)? i thought this 18% dmg also works on skills.
so the attunement doesn't increase the damage of attacks, it kind of functions as its own attack if that makes sense. when you hit them with a tondo with attunement, the attunement won't affect the tondo but it will deal its own portion of damage like a separate attack, hope that made sense!

I do not recommend it, you’re losing damage and losing mobility and you’d ultimately die very easily, plus it would be harder to catch up to people

This build is mainly for PvP, in PvE not so much since Evade/Flurry are too good

I wonder if this rapier bleed setup would be better than the "traditional" grace setup when paired with fire staff... Seems like it would be, since there's so much int in this and it'd give you a ranged option vs hatchet.
My usual rapier/fs stat spread is 150dex/200int/150con (with 40con food)
they're each meant for different purposes! my build focuses completely on making flourish and finish as strong as it can be so I just use the hatchet so I can stay close and stay alive, rather than trying to stretch myself by using a firestaff and probably dying with such low hp
@@LionAD yeah true. Firestaff probably pairs better with the more common rapier setup for the kiting capability. Though i'll still try this sometime soon, and luckily i've already put together like 10-12 different near perfectly min-maxed build sets so I should be able to piece it together if I get bloodletting ring lol

hmmm not too sure, the entire point of it is lethality so im not sure what the tanking value would be but im sure there is definitely a happy medium between tankiness/damage you could find!

been seeing lately a lot of these build on upraising. I play VG blood rapier for fun outside of my main build as its not a competitive build. Very fun to enjoy though. Sadly its a inferior blunderbuss with no utility and a long build up. But hey lets enjoy it till people start reading descriptions and figure out how to fight it!

Nice guide! May be im not such a good rapier player but i think it only works with weak players who have weak gear and don't know what happening
i agree so many rapier players tried that with me and did not end well for them. I use GA / Hatched and 8 out of 10 times i can easily win the fight against rapier user who tried similar builds.
There are close to 100 clips compiled into this and if you are gonna say all of them are weak players that’s straight up insulting lmaooo
However you’re right about a lot of people not knowing what’s going on, as even good players get confused when a Rapier one shots them

I made a tondo/finish build a while ago and I've lost count how many times I have heard it needs a nerf. It does not. This rapier build is weak against pressure. If you encounter it, just be aggressive, don't let the fight last long, but be ready at all times to press block when you see the tondo/flourish animation. If the enemy rapier bleed guy is more mobile, just keep being ready to block tondo as you slowly make your way to your team, or more favourable terrain. As long as you are blocking tondo, he can't really do much, he can't trade damage because you will both be tankier and have more dps. If you also have shirking dot cleanse or/and purify on your earring, this build does nothing. Hope this might help some of the players that think rapier bleed tree needs a nerf.
yeah there are so many avenues for counterplay against this build, ive got a video coming up about all the means of counterplay and why desert sunrise shouldnt be added to the game
