Tried on a ford explorer 2003 and it unfortunately didn't work (anymore).
Called help/support and after doing a few things of troubleshooting that failed, they eventually called the engineering department or whatever and they confirmed that they discontinued compatibility with many older vehicles. The guy helping was confused because the ECU strategy info or whatever was still in their database, but their system no longer had anything compatible or something along those lines.
Not sure what exactly that means as in what years or models will / won't work now, but yeah. Apparently they had some problems with communicating with the PCM on many older vehicles and so I guess they just discontinued them or something like that. It sounded to be like it was done recently, unfortunately. Nothing left to do now but return it and find another option.
Your video was helpful in understanding either way though!

I hate when that happens. Some dyno tuners can do a custom tune with your tuner to fix that. I found later that COBB tuners are much better and their out of the box tune s are much better than SCT, diablosport for ford.

Got my sctX4 I turned off speed limit but it still stops me at 120,

That’s strange maybe call technical support for SCT and see why. Once you turn off the speed limit, it should no longer have one.

@@madboostingmadmatt48 getting a Bama performance and race tune just bought the 150$ Bama tunes for life so hopefully that should fix that issue I know the 3.7 from 11-14 camerwwytwtteu itdhahj FDAGF(,gcFxFd w with that two piece drive shaft which isn’t meant to go past limiter but I had it set to 130 max so I could keep that in mind but with the CANNED TUNES that it come with I can’t go past gov still and I set my rev limit neutral to 5200 but it still goes to 7k

Wonder if this will fix my governor on my 2013 f350 6.7 diesel?

    • @madboostingmadmatt48

Yes I believe it will, if there’s a check engine light the governor will cut off at factory level. I had a check engine light the other day on my F150 and it cut out at 107miles an hour. Once I clear delight it went well over 100 no problem.

Can I take the governor off my 2003 crown Vic with this

The SCT website can help you find the right part number that works for 03 Ford Crown Victoria. They have different part numbers for different makes and models. As long as you get the right one and download updates before installing it to get latest version, it will work.

The governor will not be removed, it just gets turned off.
The part number you want is the 7015, it's an SCT x4

So I put one in my 98 grand Marquis and I think it revs too high before it shifts, I think it's set to 7,000 rpm, so are you saying if I lower the rev limiter it will make it shift sooner and not take so long to shift?
