Aznben1994 - Scania Bowmaster 1:03:52 I can’t believe you’re using punkdeath and I old video at the end killing the female boss. We use to farm those day after day and write down the time so we can go back and kill it again. Dreams do come true❤️ This was my first ever maple character and I stuck to it till lvl200 and let me tell you, the amount of patience it took to get it to lvl200. All the blood, sweat and friendship that was built around that character could never be replaced. Old maple just hit different than it does now. To this day, I always wonder what my friends that I built in that game are doing in real life. I hope they’re living their life fully and in good health. RIP to the fallen ones.
I wonder the same things bro. Man, I don't care to go back in time to experience any part of my life, besides going back to being a teen and playing maplestory all day. All the laughter, love and friendships. I love those times.
So many memories, I used to be a Bowmaster in Yellonde pre-Big Bang. The friends I made through that journey, all those adventures, are things I'll always treasure. I remember how excited I was the moment I finally got Hurricane, that was the skill that made me choose the job. Bowmasters will always have a special place in my heart. Forever in my thoughts, BlueSky, my precious guild.
OMG! My beloved Dream guild! I remember sitting on TeamSpeak with the guys when Zakum came out, and we were fighting disconnects more often than the boss. Bowmaster was my main class, and at one point, I was pretty high in the rankings. You have no idea how the nostalgia hit me when I saw the first few seconds of the video. Good old times..
Same, except I already picked it up and dropped it again. Just a mmo that didn't age the best unless you like extremely long grinds for extremely simple barely existent endgame. Was fun when I was 13
I've been looking forward to this one. My main was a Bowman, and I was so proud to unlock Strafe and Arrow Rain as a Ranger. Unfortunately, I stopped progressing at level 75, even though I was so much looking forward to unlocking Hurricane once day. Such a good class with iconic skills.
Love your nostalgic videos man. Shortly after beta, I created my first MS character (F/P Wizard) and my IRL best friend created a Bowmaster. Sadly, he quit shortly after 2nd job.
Great video, would love to see more. One important thing that i didn't see mentioned in the video is why the higher hit-count skills were better than the lower ones even with lower % damage total in the tooltip. That's because the way Critical strikes were calculated back in the day was kind of weird; The Crit would add 100% damage to every line, example: X ability does 400% damage, with Crit it would deal 400% + 100% = 500% Keeping that in mind, Sharp Eyes also has a deceptive tooltip, on max rank it Increases the damage per line by 140% rather than 40%, this effect stacks with NL and Archer Critical Shot meaning: X ability which deals 400%, if we put SE and Critical Shot would deal 400% + 100% + 140% = 640%. on NLs and Archers which have high line count on their Skills and Critical Shot means they benefit a ton from it. This also means that a class like Corsair while not having any base crit, have high line count skills, benefit more from Sharp Eyes than a class like Paladin, who only have 1 hit count skills.
fuck yes I've been waiting for this. My main during old school maple I struggled through them hell levels grinding through 3rd job and being ridiculed for not being a sin because of my damage and then 4th job hit and all of a sudden I'm everyone's favorite class man what a time that was. The first time I ever experienced true vindication in never giving up on my class. I'll always cherish the post 4th job experience
I'm loving these history videos, really brings me back to OSMS. I look forward to your video on IL Mages, that was the class I mained back in the day and I feel like I saw so many other IL Mages, it felt like a meta for a file
Man... one of my favorite classes, hurricane was just dopamine everytime I used it, and strafe was sick too. Hitting it right everytime Togain, great stuff man! Can't wait for your next video.
Bruhhh I thought I forgotten these memories! Thanks for refreshing them back! Love you bro! Also as a crossbow master main, I always feel the pain of the 2nd child 😂 please make a xbow master next lol
Would be neat but it would be a lot shorter since there’s no classes to go thru. Instead having to focus on new gear and how training changed based on what patch we were on. At a certain point it’ll devolve into jump quests, party quests, getting 5% an hour grinding, and leeching on a rope. 😔 Though, it could be a neat way to introduce party quest content in a bulk video without having to go in depth on each party quest.
a lot of beginners back then were just hackers ironically it could open up the can of worms of maplestory cheats which would also be an interesting video
We both have the same neuron activation when it came to Strafe. It almost became the primary motivation to get to 3rd job. It took...for...ever back then Dx
one of the only content creators i’ve ever considered supporting financially. your content means a lot to me and lets me relish in my childhood in ways i never thought i would be able to again. thank you for your hard work on these videos!
Thanks for the video. I hit bowmaster back in OSMS but got so burnt out that I stopped not long after that 😂, but watching your video really brought back the good and bad memories of leveling as a hunter
What an amazing and entertaining video Togain a very nostalgic too thanks for this beatiful trip to my childhood, bowmaster was my first class in Maplestory and really enjoying until level 75 when the level experience was too much for me to handle, still i really enjoy my time in GMS.
As one of the 2010 Royal Guard pioneer grinders from 159-174 in days locking down spawns with an HS and PG mule, this vid makes me so proud to have mained BM ❤ always contested by NL’s at Anego, but Royal Guard was truly their time to shine with puppet antics
32:19 can we talk about how underrated and ahead of its time the group Messenger in OSMS is. Wow did o get hit by a rush of nostalgia seeing that. Instantly remembered getting a chat request from a friend or random and seeing their characters pop in/out
Love your videos! Brings back a lot of memories whether for the better or worse. I've had memorable moments on MapleStory as my grades tank and my mom goes crazy to the point where she's hiding computer hardware or ripping the modem out of the wall. I'd love to see your take on hacks and exploits. Perhaps a video on off-meta builds? Remember having HP warriors to use Power Guard to tank a hit and land damage on a boss? Or when Three Snails had 100% accuracy? I remember vividly using these two methods to leech from high level mobs and bosses. Back when the EXP cap was 199.99% per mob. Can't wait for your next video!
Great video! This series brings back so many nolstalgic memories. Would you consider making a series on the changes from these OSMS classes to the present day versions of these classes?
Love your vids man, it scratches such an itch I have for MS without actually playing it (because god knows I don't have the time now that I had as a kid)
Magician has it easy on maple island because they get off at lvl 8 where lvl 9 and 10 are the real pain due to the increase in exp. Thieves have it way harder given they have no str wacking lowest possible number and forced to grind out to lvl 10 instead of just 8 like mages.
Love these videos. You got me back into the game - went from 3.6k legion to 7k legion after a years-long break since I saw your first Blastin' video (I'm a scrub DailyStory player). Cadena 4 lyfe. Wrist pain binds us.
I never played an archer past level 20 in OG MapleStory... Even still, I watched this video all the way through and absolutely enjoyed it! I'm really hoping you do WK/Paladin one day! That would be a real treat!

Such a thorough and in-depth video! Unfortunately, very little is still present in today's BM. I wonder if there's any class out there that still retains most of their characteristic of old school maple.
Hey Togain, could you please do a full in depth video on the entire lore of Masteria, NLC, and Crimsonwood Keep? that was and still is my favorite game update of literally all time. I think it was completely and utterly perfect. Thanks!
The editing in your videos is outstanding! I have to ask: where did you learn how to do all the cinematics and visualizations? If you do actually respond I thank you in advance.
I remember when the hype of 4th job was coming out and some of the animations were leaked and one of the animations was hurricane and I thought it was going to be for the bow user and not cross bow since it was shooting a projectile at a rapid pace. Man those were the good ol days

God I loved Yellonde. Had a hunter friend called Kimmiko.
i may have screenshots of osms that unironically have ur guildmates in them
Best part of seeing this means, we’ll likely get every class highlighted in this type of vids. We’re so spoiled…lol
Can only hope this video was epic

Love your nostalgic videos man. Shortly after beta, I created my first MS character (F/P Wizard) and my IRL best friend created a Bowmaster. Sadly, he quit shortly after 2nd job.
Great video, would love to see more.
One important thing that i didn't see mentioned in the video is why the higher hit-count skills were better than the lower ones even with lower % damage total in the tooltip.
That's because the way Critical strikes were calculated back in the day was kind of weird;
The Crit would add 100% damage to every line, example:
X ability does 400% damage, with Crit it would deal 400% + 100% = 500%
Keeping that in mind, Sharp Eyes also has a deceptive tooltip, on max rank it Increases the damage per line by 140% rather than 40%, this effect stacks with NL and Archer Critical Shot meaning:
X ability which deals 400%, if we put SE and Critical Shot would deal 400% + 100% + 140% = 640%.
on NLs and Archers which have high line count on their Skills and Critical Shot means they benefit a ton from it.
This also means that a class like Corsair while not having any base crit, have high line count skills, benefit more from Sharp Eyes than a class like Paladin, who only have 1 hit count skills.
That explains why back in the day, I saw damage numbers like 2.5k non-crit but never a 5k crit. So it didn't double the damage?
fuck yes I've been waiting for this. My main during old school maple I struggled through them hell levels grinding through 3rd job and being ridiculed for not being a sin because of my damage and then 4th job hit and all of a sudden I'm everyone's favorite class man what a time that was. Well, I would like to share an interesting bit of trivia. Over a long period of time, both the Crossbowman and Hunter classes got the skill "Power Knockback( 22:09 )", but originally the Crossbowman had a different skill called "Union Focus," which was an upgraded version of "Focus ( 4:27 ) ." It slightly reduced the enemy's accuracy and evasion.
"Union Focus" was a pretty useless skill, but there are two memorable things about it. First, its activation sound effect was extremely loud, almost like noise. Second, it had a bug that was never fixed until the skill was removed. It could completely prevent monsters hit by it from attacking players, and this effect even worked on bosses. Plus, teammates and even unrelated bystanders wouldn’t get attacked either.
Although there weren't many bosses worth challenging at that time, the skill that made players completely invincible was still quite impressive.
You see a bowmaster, you go make a bowman. Then you start getting swarmed by mobs and realize you have 100+ levels to go to really be cool.
