Look at all that Snow ❄️❄️❄️! Any chance of doing a comparison between Nokian, X-ice and Blizzak? It's hard to find reviews of all three at the same time. Maybe the guy from Nokian can hook you up?
First world problem, the seats take a bit longer to reach temperature then the outgoing model. However, they have 3 levels now, not just two. I feel the plastics on doors is fine, how much do you really touch that part of the door, honestly? This is an ongoing trend with reviewers I'd like to see addressed. It makes more sense for cost and weight saving to do it, and for the minimal times you are going to touch it, does it really matter? The HVAC system is very quiet on the first two setting, nearly inaudible on the first setting. So far I love mine, 450KM on it and very few things to complain about, and those things are really just nit picking. Fantastic car, and sounds great!
I would prefer a plastic seatback. The reason? When someone decides to push their knees against the seatback hard, you will not feel that you get extra lumbar support, as compared to a softy seatback. This experience I had let me appreciate a hard plastic seatback. I don't expect a soft touch plastic seatback given a car with such price range.
I just test drove a Sport in a 6spd manual here in Ontario Canada today -13 degrees out... You were absoulutley correct about waiting for those power gains took aorund 6 mins of idle and 5-6 mins actually driving it until it came alive.. This car might be replacing my 2010 Corolla XRS.. thanks for all the great reviews on it!! :)
It's normal to let the engine warm up at 90 degres for a turbo or even a non turbo car before floor it or else you might break something in the engine. Overall, I like it, I drove it and it's pretty powerfull for a 1.6T. A full power at around 1100 RPM it's pretty good and a good fuel conception.
This car is great. Here's something, the Canadian base model comes with the power sunroof! There isn't anything that is as sporty with so many features for the price. Looks great too with the 18" rims. I heard the dual clutch is much more refined in this sport version.
Ian Cho The US version does have the optional sunroof (2017) with tech package. The 2018 comes standard with the sunroof. The Tech package has been changed for 2018.
Actually, some expensive cars use the back seat plastic, reason being notice how the are shaped. With cutout shape for more knee room. And people, if you want soft touch everywhere, pony up another 20 grand or so. Otherwise, be pleased that these reasonably priced cars are as nice as they are. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR.
jake karam I run premium for that, and also this is a tgdi engine so it can use all the help it can get to keep the valves clean. I also use full synthetic for various reasons.
hold on a second, you mean it will take at least 10 minutes for the turbo to kick in colder climates. I think that is a bunch of crap..come on I mean I ain't taken this car on no race track or anything like that. I just want a daily vehicle that will get me wherever I want to go. That's all

Oh the good old Corolla XRS! It was a fun car to drive back then!
You will like that car! thanks for the comment!
If you put the DCT in sport mode it jumps off the line
Nice video. Good points.

That's true, US model doesn't have the sunroof and heated steering wheel.

DCT compared to manual transmission? oh comon! do you need to much power in snow? comon man!
DCT is faster on the track.
CarQuestion manual is more fun on the track.

Good thing wipers are part of regular maintenance lol
This car is so good that you gotta bitch and complain about little things like wipers?give me break.what a joke.
petty complaints
Premium fuel doesnt make a difference in these engines. They are built and tuned to run the same on 87 as 91
jake karam it runs smoother actually.
roccotaco87 not according to hyundai. I'm confused by their fact aswell but it "apparantly" makes no difference. Do you run 91?
jake karam I run premium for that, and also this is a tgdi engine so it can use all the help it can get to keep the valves clean. I also use full synthetic for various reasons.
roccotaco87 I'll have to try filling up with premium
jake karam have u ever felt the shudders in acceleration sometimes in certain rpm ranges?
