If somebody stumbles across this, on my model (EC685-BK) there are 3 grounding wires present, additionally connecting the inside to the chassis. The first one is attached to the top and needs to be screwed off. Two others are on the rear. When looking at the water tank, on both sides you’ll find a plastic strip that you can pull upwards and then off. The left one doesn’t matter, but the right one covers both additional grounding connectors, that can be unplugged with tweezers or thin pliers.

Does hot/scalding water come in contact with plastic parts within this machine?

How to unscrew those special screws at the base of machine? What kind of screw driver I should make use for it? I have no idea at all... Thx
