I love how uncomplicated Alison makes cooking seem! I feel like most cooking channels make even roasting chicken seem like A Task, but here is Alison, truly showing that we can do it and it's going to be simple, delicious, and possible!
Alison's channel is one of the many new channels that filled the hole in my heart that Bon Appetit left after it fell apart. Just people cooking great recipes in their home & talking passionately about food all while just being themselves. I'd watch videos like this over any cable cooking show. Moving out of my parents' house soon and can't wait to make some of these recipes.
Your authenticity and self deprecating humor never ceases to delight me. This meal looks so simple yet rustic elegant. I can never pass up a whole roasted chicken. Thanks for sharing your technique and food insight with us. We learn a lot from you.
Will you please do a video about all your kitchen, pantry and fridge essentials? I am dying to know what brands and ingredients are must haves for you! ALSO THE FASHUN JUST STAYS SLAYING ALL OF US, AND I LOVE YOU!!!!!
That was hilarious! Here in Portland we get these giant bananas in our local grocery that completely elude me but they are organic.....like Alison pointed out about the leeks.
It would be a nice addition to see the camera crew also taste the food at the end! I know they get to eat after filming, but it’d be a fun thing to watch occasionally! :-)
I live in Los Angeles, and every week after your Home Movies come out, I notice a distinctive lack of your recipes respective ingredients at my local Pavilions (especially after the key lime dish). You really do affect how people shop, and I think that's super cool - and I can't wait to make this dish, it looks amazing!
This was a delicious Sunday dinner. After recovering from my husband throwing out all but the whites of my leeks in order to make space in the fridge, it was a huge success. My daughter said best meal she’s had in a long time. Thank you, Alison!
I made leeks last night. White wine, red pepper flakes, two TB butter and olive oil and anchovy. Soooo good! I made it not from a recipe guys. I am proud of my knowledge from all Alison Roman videos.
HI ALISON. I JUST WANTED TO LET YOU KNOW THAT I am eating your eggplant parmesan while watching this new episode and I am so glad, also because is longer than 25 minutes. Love from Copenhagen.
I’ve already made this recipe twice. It’s so good. I was searching for what to make with all the leeks I grew and stumbled upon your channel…now I’m a subscriber.
Best day of the week now 🙂🙂🙂I am definitely making this one next week. Can’t wait! My mom requested a week’s worth of Alison Roman recipes for her Mother’s Day gift this year (or Mother’s Week gift as it ended up being lol). It was amazing! 7 Alison Roman recipes in a row and she said it was the greatest Mother’s Day she’s ever had. We love you and your recipes. Peace and love. ❤️
"At the start of spring you find yourself surrounded by certain vegetables - potato, potato, leek, potato, asparagus, potato" Ladies and gentlemen the spring monologue ala Alison Roman.
Loved this recipe when you sent it out in the news letter! I used the left over chicken and aioli to make super delicious chicken salad sandwiches for lunch the next day. Definitely one I'll be coming back to!
I love how Alison continues to dismiss what seems like frivolous culinary rules. Key takeaways from watching all Home Movies to date: 1. Dark green parts of leeks are edible 2. Roasted chicken skin is okay to not be crispy 3. Ice baths are unnecessary 4. Anchovies are the shit and should be added to everything 5. Ginger does not have to be peeled 6. The ends of garlic cloves don't need to be trimmed 7. Keeping roots or skins on alliums are totes fine Always down for working smarter, not harder. Keep 'em coming!!! #mindblown
I roast chickens frequently because of this video, I didn't know it was this easy. I usually do carrots and potatoes on the bottom so I don't have to do an extra veggie, my toddler and baby love it 😊
Today I was a plump version of you. I ordered my groceries for dinner and now my chicken is in the cast iron pan with the leek strips in my oven. Yea, you, yea me! ❤️
Just ordered both of your cookbooks! So excited to get them soon. I'm loving all your recipes. They turn out great but are not horribly complicated and difficult to make. I appreciate that. Would you ever do a video about your home kitchen must-haves (e.g., pans, pots, appliances, tools, etc.)
You’re only as good a cook as how well you can roast a chicken - so I’ve heard - and this looks phenomenal! No surprise there. The leek “bit” was hilarious, just the laugh I needed!
I find I return to Alison Roman's videos more and more for entertainment than culinary betterment. Thoroughly entertained, not tempted to cook the dish.
Love Home Movies plus plus all the delicious recipes especially chicken cause it's so versatile. Always thumbs up and I do share with family and friends.
Today I learned two things: Ice baths are NOT mandatory and it is possible to love Alison Roman even more 🥰 Thanks for teaching us how to lower our anxiety in the kitchen!!
This chicken was absolute perfection. The leeks were DELICIOUS. I’m so happy to know o can use leek tops! Yum! My only variation was deglazing with white wine. THANK YOU!
Made this last night sans the asparagus and radish since I didn't have it one hand. Also added a preserved lemon to the salsa verde since I don't like capers. Two bites in my SO exclaimed that, "This is delicious! I feel like I'm eating like a king." This is a winner winner chicken dinner and so easy to put together on a weeknight.
I have made everyone of these. I made the one pot chicken last night and then went around with copies to everyone at work today because it was so ridiculously delicious. I guess I'm gonna be having chicken again soon! Love these!
I love you so very much for making at least one part of every Tuesday great! I really enjoy every single episode. I’m buttering you up of course. Maybe sweetness will get the little door opened.
Chicken came out perfect! It was my first whole roasted chicken. I made everything like you described including the salsa verde and aioli. For day 2 I made some simple chicken quesadillas with some of your green sauce inside! Day 3 will be chicken salad sandwiches then hopefully I can start my stock! Thanks Alison!
Omg finally! Someone address the CRISPY SKIN SITUATION!!! Like that roast chicken video they have at Tasty... it’s like they are insanely obsessed with crispy chicken skin.......
I literally made this LAST NIGHT and I think it's v important to say that contrary to the idea that this is an 'occupied the whole time' dish, it's actually perfect to make in advance! You can make the sauces, blanch the veg & prep the chicken hours ahead and just pop the chicken in 90 mins before you plan to eat. Take it out of the oven, let it rest while you take your veg out of the fridge and arrange on a plate to take the chill off, carve that bad by up and you're good to go! A perfect (and delicious!) dinner party meal :)
I can’t wait to try this recipe!! I just had the salmon in butter, olive oil, red onions capers etc etc for the holiday of Shavuot. It’s a huge dairy meal and my guests couldn’t get enough! I just love your chilled intensity if that makes any sense.
So much for all the information about the garlic I was totally unaware of a few picked really young baby garlic like you could use the whole stem oh my gosh come up with so many great ideas
Genuinely can’t imagine my post-workday afternoons without Alison anymore ❤️ ✨ Also, Alison (or any hardcore fan who knows), what pepper grinder do you use??
Hi there! You have been such an inspiration! I have both your books and your Tuesday drops make my week! I'm another Brooklyn gal- can you recommend which farmer's markets you frequent? Thank you so much for all you put out in the world.
How much for another great recipe I always love seeing and hearing all about this now I may even get interested in trying to grow garlic after watching this video hugs and kisses from grandma Sandy another great cooking video and a great tip about the garlic
Does anybody else think these videos are hilarious? Some of the best comedic timing on youtube. Alison definitely has a great sense of humor.
She should have a comedy cooking Netflix Special!!
I watch for her humor more than the food
I love how this week's show is nearly half an hour of Alison Roman and I'm here for it
I love how uncomplicated Alison makes cooking seem! I feel like most cooking channels make even roasting chicken seem like A Task, but here is Alison, truly showing that we can do it and it's going to be simple, delicious, and possible!
@@alisoneroman Well..You're showing it to all of us, it can be done!!👍👏
Yep! She's the best! I now have a great affinity for anchovies! Who knew?
Nu kKo00
I think she's **amazing**
I’ve always been too scared to try making aioli at home but watching her do it makes me want to try!
The day formerly known as Tuesday is now called Home Movies Day. Love this show SOOOOOO much! ❤️❤️❤️
Even me. (That’s Maltese for “me too”)
Agree😊
Calm down it’s not that great
@@emmacassady4518 my opinion calm down and get a life!

Ohhhh I would love this! Kitchen/pantry/fridge tour and chat.
Hey, if you look up Alison Roman pantry - she did one with Delish on youtube at the end of 2019. It's really great!
I'd love to see that!
Alison Roman: praises her fish spatula for the second Home Movies in a row
Me: immediately buys fish spatula to use in every dish I cook #UnsungHero
Literally bought one today because of the last mention!
Right? Me too! It’s Thursday, but I have to watch Home Movies again.
Same! Fish spatula on it's way..
I’m glad Alison addressed the gargantuan size of those leeks within the first few minutes.
That was hilarious! Here in Portland we get these giant bananas in our local grocery that completely elude me but they are organic.....like Alison pointed out about the leeks.
I literally cannot stop thinking about them. I've seen this video maybe 7 times and I laugh whenever she's holding them.
I couldn’t stop looking at it 😂😂
Poor David, never grow up, stay you forever
Thank you
Half an hour of Alison!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Getting snacks and a beer, going home right now and watching this all snuggly on the sofa hell YEAH ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I wish this is an hour long video. I loved watching you cook. You make me laughed and it helped with my depression. Thank you Alison. ❤️
It would be a nice addition to see the camera crew also taste the food at the end! I know they get to eat after filming, but it’d be a fun thing to watch occasionally! :-)
lol Dan is attractive and would do well on camera!

With this video and 100k subs, Alison's definitely hitting the big leeks now
YOU are the only reason I wait for Tuesday. I love you. Your biggest fangurl

Ah finally somebody addressing the fear of tins! For the last 33 years I thought I was the only one in the world 🤣
I think this is my favorite episode of Home Movies. Everything about this chicken dinner is absolute perfection. Thank you, Alison ❤
never expected alison roman to make a ref to `this is why I'm hot` but I'm here for it
I love her! She needs her own show. She transforms the love of cooking into a wonderful, whole new world.
Loved this recipe when you sent it out in the news letter! I used the left over chicken and aioli to make super delicious chicken salad sandwiches for lunch the next day. Definitely one I'll be coming back to!
Home movies are such a comfort. I’m having a stressful week and Alison is currently my serotonin saviour.
The Aioli is Food Chemistry
And I thought I was the only one who lifted leeks on my peloton!
Right? Waiting for that LB name!
Lol same!
LOVE your Home Movies videos!! Thanks for taking the time to make them.

The more of these i watch, the more I realize Alison is a woman after my own heart. takes spoonful of dijon, is pleased. yes.

Always such a pleasure to watch you cook, educate and make us laugh Alison Roman ! You are gold xo
Her: "grow up david"
Chicken : *squish*
Me: *giggles like a child and funny squishy noise*

Please don't ever stop doing this show, it's making my week so much better!
Was it just me or was Alison giving major Alexis Rose vibes. “Grow up David” “Yummmmm” 😂

More of this please Alison! This is a truly beautiful you-esque meal. Thank you very much!!
This is the best roasted chicken I’ve ever had. Thank you for sharing the recipe! Also, The salsa verde thing is mind blowing.
the opening has " no sleep bus club nother club nother club nother club plane next place no sleep nother club nother club" vibes
Alison: *whispers* bdsm
Us: Whaat?!
Can't wait to try this. Thanks for introducing me to leeks. Love them!
A middle class apt. kitchen...Allison excels in so many ways.
I made this whole meal last night and my family freaked out. Thank you!
great episode. always here for longer videos!
Potato!🥔 Alison, love your honesty, sense of humor and energy. So refreshing. Thank you 🙏🏻
Another bad-ass Tuesday with Alison Roman! Love it - best shows!
Roast chicken is a staple in our house. This recipe is absolute perfection and you look fabulous in red.
Can you walk through your compost situation?! Would love to know experiences, goods/bads, spaces for research on apartment and countertop composting!
"Grow up, David." 😂🤣😭😭
The inevitably soggy crispy chicken skin on a roast chicken conundrum has finally been settled by Alison. Thank you queen!!
“She’s a little BDSM” 😏
“Yeah” …. “Wait what?”
Unrated moment tbh. She said it so slyly 😂
Alison Roman in single handedly saving my quarantine with these videos. Thanks!
Made this for my hubby…it was phenomenal !!!thank you.
Flash of Bonnie Raitt, Alison Roman, good food....now, that’s what I’m talking about!!!
I made this spread for dinner last night and it was incredible!
Today I learned two things: Ice baths are NOT mandatory and it is possible to love Alison Roman even more 🥰 Thanks for teaching us how to lower our anxiety in the kitchen!!
"I have this weird piece of lemon and this old fennel bulb.... maybe I won't use the fennel" 🤣🤣
You make Tuesdays special! I love chicken and leeks! Potatoes Parisienne (round baby potatoes) are a must!!
This chicken was absolute perfection. The leeks were DELICIOUS. I’m so happy to know o can use leek tops! Yum! My only variation was deglazing with white wine. THANK YOU!

That's not a leek, that's a lunk!
Just made it- it’s wonderful and jammy like you suggested
I have made everyone of these. I made the one pot chicken last night and then went around with copies to everyone at work today because it was so ridiculously delicious.

I have tried several of her recipes and they went over very well in my household!
I made the salsa verde just because it looks so good and I had all the ingredients. It's great!
I’ve been binging your videos and just loving them all - love these full dinner party meals especially!!!!
I can’t wait to try this recipe!!
I just had the salmon in butter, olive oil, red onions capers etc etc for the holiday of Shavuot. It’s a huge dairy meal and my guests couldn’t get enough! I just love your chilled intensity if that makes any sense.
This looks insanely scrumptious. Simple yet decadent. Omg.
Another masterpiece! I’m definitely making this! Thank you as always Alison🤗🌸
every time Alison is grating something I feel my heart beating faster. (recall the potato kugel incident)
So much for all the information about the garlic I was totally unaware of a few picked really young baby garlic like you could use the whole stem oh my gosh come up with so many great ideas
Genuinely can’t imagine my

Also, Alison (or any hardcore fan who knows), what pepper grinder do you use??
