    Nickel Plate Road 765 did a good job on it's steam excursion at Steamtown. It came to Steamtown after Reading & Northern 425 came to Steamtown. Because Steamtown didn't had any operating Steam locomotives. So they try to borrow some of the other steam locomotives that are in operation. They are running a Baldwin Locomotive Works Switcher today. Canadian Pacific 2317 is getting an overhaul at Steamtown. And Steamtown is getting Boston & Maine 3713 to return to operation. It is in restoration today. That engine is called the Constitution. And I hope it will be in operation soon.

      CP 2317 is not currently getting an overhaul. It's sitting in the roundhouse, its future uncertain. Right now all steam-related focus is on keeping 26 operating and restoring 3713.

      Big Jim Video Productions well I just mean in the future for it's overhaul. It's saids on Google on the Wikipedia of Canadian Pacific 2317 that it's awaiting a future overhaul. And 3713 is still in restoration today.

    I wish either they do this again, or they bring the 765 to Strasburg or something, because I forgot mostly everything from this day, because of my stupid 2nd grade memory

    Great video! Just a quick qudstion, how did they turn 765 around to head back to Scranton a wye?

    • @Bigjimvideo
      @Bigjimvideo  5 лет назад +1

      There's a wye in Portland, PA where I filmed but didn't include here...but it's the location where Norfolk Southern comes up to the former interchange at Slateford, PA.

    Imagine if/when they restore NKP #759 and if/when NKP #765 returns to steamtown they can do a double-header

    how did you get an Open Vestibule? I thought 21st Century Steam guidelines didn't allow them.

    • @Bigjimvideo
      @Bigjimvideo  3 года назад

      But this wasn't on an NS trip - it was on a Steamtown trip, on Pennsylvania Northeast Regional Railroad Authority (PNRRA) rails. So open vestibules were allowed.

    I wonder why 765 needed a caboose?

    • @Bigjimvideo
      @Bigjimvideo  4 года назад

      It wasn't so much that 765 needed it, but it's the Delaware-Lackawanna's caboose, so they chose to have it on the end of the train. Plus, they used it for the reverse move around the wye trackage when they turned the locomotive past the Delaware Water Gap, they had a shoving platform handy right there.

      Because I plan on see one some day but it won't be for a few years, (unless they come through SoCal one day).
