    Scavenger flag for the buildings, just like the ruins you'll "scavenge" the remains of the hoomans

      I thought i saw the builders go and grab them as an alternative rubble. The ruined house near the scavenger flag is gone though

    5:07 For the "contaminated adults", I'd recommend sending them to the main district by setting a minimum number for that there. (Maybe around what the washing machine can handle at one time.) This should also improve your worker situation on the high grounds, as you get free beds.
    → It looks like there should be a space for the medium mine in the high grounds - beside your rice and sunflower fields. Of course, this means you need more beavers up there to run it.
    27:31 A bottle neck in the river is shortly after the bridge, where you have your stairs going into the water. It looks like it's here just 1 or two blocks wide diagonally.
    → Putting one lemonade stand (maybe with just one worker) into the high grounds can help with the provision of drinkables there, and use some of the lemons you are harvesting there, thereby lowering the demand on the district crossing haulers. Doesn't need an extra tank, the 195 storage included there will be enough for a while.
    → I think one way of using the floodgate dam would be to close up or open the bypass - when it's closed, the water will rise over your house wall. Not sure whether that's the only way, though.
    → If you want some bad water in the main district, maybe adding some bucketing posts (or even the bad water pump) in the bad water behind the factory could help?

    It is because it collides with the other stream in the opposite direction, so they have to force each other before one winning.
    (I think this explanation was confusing, but it is the best I managed)

    Near the bad water tank in the High Ground, there is a small hill that can be leveled and then you can put a large mine there.

    Remember your lido in the high grounds is using up a lot of your water. Since the water cannon is not active yet.

      Pretty cruel of me to do that, then, considering that they have to deal with badwater the most. We'll give them jails next time and eventually another washing machine but that might take a while.

    1:12 Connect the new district, through that passthrough lodge holding back the lake, to that plateau then keep building the road to connect it with that swampy-looking plateau too!
    If you build three bridges you can get all the way to the main water sources

    For the Bad water bypass, I like the buildings with integrated ladders in the center.

    If you take explosives downstream from town where the bad water comes in off the cliff - you could blast a deep, wide, long channel that would rapidly drain the upstream area and should prevent flooding. Flooding happens IRL and probably in-game because the water can't drain away fast enough.
    A straight channel through under the town centre would also help run the water through sooner, although it would be a major PIA to do, if it could be done at all.

    13:20 no, that’s not what’s I’m talking about, I’m talking about running the bad water up high from the source blocks at that high level either through the half ring of cliffs behind them, or along the edge of the cliff in a dynamited channel to that discharge point there

    You have a lemon tree that is still alive near the new lemonaide stands. Clear out the old dead trees so it can spread.
    For the shower issue in high ground put double platforms out of the district leading into the deep pool so they have water during the drought
    The main district dam honestly could be made two high using the deep water pumps and end peices (caps off the ends) as for the bad water bypass sulution. Well. Only idea i got is kiss a bypass lounge with eachother or the badwater houses since they have a deeper footprint
    Again i shall pleed make a fermentation house so that you have a way to garentee to make stuff for kimchi, sake, and methane

      Yes, and/or some showers overhanging it. The rice fields should always have water, and washing beavers don't use it up.

      bath is better then the showers so once you have a permanent clean pound the bath is the way to go 99,9% of the times

    For the bad water by pass you can stack building higher than the opening in the mountain ⛰️ and place the dam inside the mountain opening

    hey JC, I am not saying you are wrong about needing science for lots of stuff besides ladders, but IF you invest in ladders and use them sparingly you can access a lot more of the map and maybe find places for mines and stuff. just saying:D I love this series best and hope the creator of the mod adapts it for update six so you can have a series with the newest stuff someday. meanwhile, I am really enjoying this. Thanks for making the videos

    Time to rush the gigadrill and start terraforming! Kabooms + coupe well placed terrain blocs ... and a lot of patience but at least while that is running in the background you can work on that well-beeing, 22 is quite low for the WB with the max beeing in the triple digits

    You could put a shower in the rice area up top to keep the beavers clean during a drought/badtide, right?
    Also do you have storage up there for the screwpress axle? I honestly cant remember, but i think thats the only thing left for the water cannon?

    In the High Ground District you need beaver jails and scrap metal scavenger flags.

      Alternatively, send the contaminated beavers out into the main district. (Can even be automated by setting a minimum number in the main district.)

    46:00 Problem with the dam over the buildings, if the water flows over the "door" of the building, it will be considered as flooded

    30:58 I used to do that in my WB, to solve that you can build more houses that are normally paused but when drought starts pause water pumps and unpause house, I manly used pit and ladder lodge

    the bottleneck for the river is next to the 2 water tanks... BTW.. a couple well placed damns up top would give you a nice reservoir ;)

    There is over 15k scrap right there available on the map, turn those useless eaters in explorer/scavenger and you won't have scrap issue for quite a long time

    If you use the buildings as dams can you use dynamite to put the floodgate in the outlet trench and not on the buidings for a bad water bypass.

    Hey, I don't play the game, so take this opinion with a grain of salt. I am wondering if your flooding is not actually due to the water interaction with the bad water-fall *after your town. If you look at that area, it looks like there are only 3 blocks through, and one of those blocks seems to sometimes be in "competition" with the bad water falling from above. This would bring your throughput to slightly below 3 blocks (I imagine). I wouldn't be surprised that this causes a very slow buildup and only when there's enough "pressure" of good water upstream (i.e when it floods) does enough good water go through the dam to even it back out.

    Maybe you can put a pump on the hole on the top of the screen here.
    And it would be interesting if you managed to close that water path, forcing it to go through the smaller one, because it might help the water to get to the bottom a little bit faster than going both ways.

    34:34 🫣🤯😱😰😭 you really can’t just bring the bad water along the top of the cliff to the left there by blasting a channel? The edge of that plateau on the left looks like it could easily have a path placed all the way from the High-Ground’s rice paddy pas through lodge, over a bridge, along barren plateau, over another bridge and along the edge of the swamp like plateau using some side platforms and stairs to get to then build a bridge onto the final plateau over the gully you can send the bad water off the map in…
    If you look at 34:34 under the list of which blueprints you have there’s about 3 blocks between the higher and lower cliffs, enough to get a deep channel a block or two wide past and into the part that goes off to the left. It’s a lot of dynamite, but it’s a at the start of the episode put them all in on ultra low priority and check at the end of the episode kind of project

    45:00 there are a lot of production buildings that can be used to dam up too, one engine in there and a gazillion fermentation barrels on methane to fuel the "industrial dam" (will want all the shafting options tho)

      But the (levee-like) production buildings still house beavers, don't they? So we also need to increase food production in parallel. (I guess water pumping can be easily improved by putting deep pumps with upgrades on top of such a wall.)

      yeah, are you on the discord? did a quick build without the pathways as an exemple ( but was dumb enough to drop mecha kitchen in the way so it's not pumps all the width due to the chimneys

    I am ten episodes behind, however, perhaps you should link some flywheels up to your power for when it isn't in use? (Still though, not sure what has happened in the span of those ten episodes, I just wanted to ask this as I think it would help with the power issues.)

    Can it sit on terrain/dirt blocks I know it'd take a while but build a wall and put gate at top then you would have a huge reservoir to put pumps on

    Please look at the buildings one to the left of the Floodgate Dam, I don't know how costly it is, but it might be able to solve the problem and create the bypass.

      This is an utility dam - it provides in one direction a pass-through for beavers and in the other direction a power shaft.
      In the U4 version, it could be upgraded with the floodgate dam, but now that's an independent building. It doesn't allow to build something several layers up, anyways.

    Do you not have too many trees? First time watching water beavers so maybe not. You're pretty much always at wood storage limit and the tree farms almost always have uncut trees. could reclaim some of that space for your reorganisation or for more storage?

      I think this comes to not doing enough with the trees - e.g. the plank production is holding up due to missing sawblades.

    Why is a bad water bypass even necessary? To save your lilipads and rice? You're putting in so much effort to save an insignificant number of crops. To save water? You're pumping plenty.
    Its seems to me you'd be far better served unlocking ladders and damming the big lake above your colony rather than hiking around the entire map and building a wall of houses that might not even work without cheese. Then farm to your heart's content up there.

      You still need to get up there - without ladders and stackable platforms, that's somewhat challenging.
