      I was just being really confused after seeing someone who believed they were INFJ for years get professionally typed as ISFJ. Is it possible I was misgiven my N? I've also thought i was INFP for a while. However, I've heard a lot of other ENFPs say that they also are very good chameleons, which would fit with my confusion I guess.
      However, I will say the type in mind cognitive functions description site has a very relatable description of ENFP for me so I'm not sure.

    I’m an ENFP and this lockdown has greatly bothered me at times (speaking by someone who travels intensively and claims to love external stimulations). But there are days or certain periods I’m perfectly fine with secluding myself and seeking refugee in adventures in books/ travel shows/ gaming Strategies/ podcasts... Adventure is in the mind, indeed. Now the tricky part is how to balance between the two.
    These sudden drops and rises in our moods depend on our unpredictable level of aspiration and energy. I honestly feel that my mind is more predisposed to mood swings, depressive tendencies ... and I don’t like it!!! 😭😭😭
    Now, improving our inferior function Si has been a great approach, yet doing it over longer period of times is just gosh, so draining and stifling and constricting 😑😑 I honestly don’t know how my ISFJ mom can day-in day-out cook and eat at a regular schedule! My routine is no routine!!!! 😥😭😢

    This helps explain a lot to me. My issue is I will start a new "thing" (art, herbalism, planning an elaborate garden, learn a skill to change careers) and I will get so far down the path and then out of no where I just....stop. Dead in the water. It's like I get to a certain undefined point and then just loose all interest. Like it would be physically painful to continue. I used to think it was me be lazy or doubting myself or my abilities but that's not it. I think it's because if I commit to just one thing...I am going to miss out on x,y and z (even if I don't what x,y and z are yet). Then I just overthink everything from there.

    • @m_n_a_b
      @m_n_a_b 11 месяцев назад +1

      I deal with this, too. I am learning that for me, I need to have a few projects I'm working on that are vastly different from each other, without overcommitting. I don't place time limits on them, because then I'm forced into the project's deadline. This way, I can move from one project to another based on my mood.
      I got this idea on how to structure projects from the way I naturally enjoy entertainment in my free time. I realized that I will binge watch one show for a while or one genre of shows, but then get bored with that genre or show and I jump to something completely different. Then, I will binge that for a while until I get bored and jump to a third genre. By the time I'm bored with the third or fourth genre, I'm missing the first genre and will jump back over there to continue that series.
      I do the same thing with video games, books I'm reading and even my favorite restaurants and adventuring spots (I'll hike the same trail or kayak the same lake for a time, until I am bored and want to shake things up).
      So, I learned to do this with creative pursuits (projects), as well. I love creative writing even more than I love reading. However, I know that I can't just sit down and write until the novel is written, to the exclusion of all other pastimes. The quality of my writing diminishes once I am bored. Plus, it feels like torture to continue... even though I know the entire story in my head and I love working on it.
      So, what I do is write for a few weeks in my free time. As soon as I find myself getting bored with writing, I move on to reading or painting (just for myself because I'm not that good at painting, but I absolutely love the process), or playing a video game.
      I also find that engaging in the variety of pastimes fuels ideas for my writing. For example, I like to dance in my kitchen late at night when my INTJ husband has gone to bed. While I am dancing, I naturally begin daydreaming about characters from books I have read and this usually leads to me daydreaming about my own book's characters. Then, a scene will begin playing out in my imagination, so I grab a voice recorder and record the scene verbally so that I have it for later when I go to sit down and write once again.
      I also get more scenes for my book when I'm out kayaking or when I'm hiking or baking or even when I'm reading another book.
      I'm determined to not give up on myself with the novel I'm writing, so I'm intentional about paying attention to how I'm feeling about it while writing. I give myself those mental breaks from it by exploring my other hobbies until inspiration for the novel returns.
      The only area I haven't discovered how to apply my need for variety to is my work. My husband and I are entrepreneurs, and certain tasks have deadlines that I have to stick to. Those, I can't do anything about. I just buckle down until it's done. I have discovered that if I make a to do list of all the tasks that don't have deadlines, I can complete the tasks based on what I feel like doing that day... I choose the order they are done in and that somehow helps me not feel so restricted.
      Anyway, I hope this helps you. Does what I shared make sense? I am kind of all over the place with the explanation, but the bottom line is that I change my projects up regularly and come back to what I worked on several months ago, when it feels fresh and new again.
      Oh, and one last note... certain projects I have tried, I liked at first, but then genuinely didn't like them after a while. I've had to learn to distinguish between liking the newness of something, simply because it is new, and liking the actual new thing I am doing. For example, I tried baseball as a kid... I liked it at first because it was new and seemed fun. Then, I realized I absolutely hated the process and experience of playing the game. That is something that I never went back to and have no regrets about. Whereas, I also tried track and field and loved it so much that I continued joining the team year in and year out throughout school... I kept doing it even when mid season became tedious. I rejoined every year though, because I genuinely enjoyed running.
      The hobbies and projects I jump to as an adult are hobbies that I have realized, over the years, I genuinely enjoy. So, even though I gravitate to one hobby or project for a while and then jump to another for a while and then another, I am overall still enjoying the same set of hobbies and thereby making progress on the book I'm writing, the games I'm playing and the books I'm reading.
      I hope this helps you. -Fellow ENFP 💃🏻

    The last point is absolutely succinct. That is one of my biggest weaknesses as well; sometimes it can feel like all or nothing - when I'm in a rut, I don't have the mental excess for anything whatsoever (as I also feel shame that I don't and therefore do nothing), while when I'm in a good loop I can tend to just delve into everything, without considering if I really have the time and energy for it. Currently a bit happening at university, where I'm trying out as much as possible (also in a weird attempt to "make up for lost time", in the sense that I've had some sabbatical years where I felt that I haven't done enough), and it can be felt a little bit now. Should remember to just take it a bit easy, and not have a bad conscience when I don't follow through on everything.

    As an INFP, I relate to this one more than the INFP one! But I'm pretty balanced between Fi and Ne, and lacking in the level of insecurity typically associated with INFPs, so that makes sense. The only thing I don't have in common with ENFPs is.... any degree of extroversion.

    • @az5428
      @az5428 3 года назад +3

      Classic intro/extro mistake , socially anyone can be introverted or extroverted. Enxps are even the least socially extroverted of the E types reportedly. Cognitive extroversion relies on the functions being used. If you use Ne a lot then you do have a fair amount of extroversion.

    • @dominoot2652
      @dominoot2652 3 года назад +10

      I've also heard that E in the sense of ENFP doesn't always mean people, it often manifests as simply collecting external ideas. So if you spend a lot of your day alone, but soaking up all sorts of new ideas and interests and whatnot, that counts as extraversion, as you're bringing in outside ideas to your worldview.
      For example, I watch youtube, A LOT of youtube. I spend a great deal of my day soaking in new ideas about all sorts of things. I also tend to read as many comments as I can on each video to hear different perspectives on those videos. I also comment and reply a lot.
      SO anyway the basic idea is that extraversion can also mean "interacting with other ideas" just as much as "interacting with other people", at least in the tendency with ENFPs.

    • @Multitudes_
      @Multitudes_ 3 года назад +2

      @@az5428 Yes, I'm aware that Ne is a so-called extroverted function and that Ne-doms can be socially introverted. However, I still generally define introversion and extroversion in the normal, broadly accepted sense and not in Carl Jung's terms.

    I usually try to commit to the things when my hands are empty. I also try to fulfil commitments as hard as I can, even if I die. That's why I think thrice or more before committing to anything. And I usually procrastinate a lot, even often struggle to startover anything. But whenever I start something, I strongly stick to that until it is completed because I know once I would leave that, it might never be done because any kind of new opportunity might come after that and I have to go after it. So I tend to pause the doors of the opportunities for a limited time and patiently wait for the previous one to be finished, as well as doing the previous one with my full focus, potentiality, dedication, perfection, flawlessness and sincerity. My one and only problem is, I struggle to start and take too much time to finish things because I also get so many things in mind to apply them in whatever things I am doing and I also care about them. I mean, when I start something, I usually treat them like people so that I do not neglect anything about them or abandon them in middle. Whenever the thing is finished, I tend to look for further opportunities beside what I got during doing the previous one, so that I can choose what is more interesting and more likely to click my mind among all of them.

    Great vid. Thanks. Wise. Makes me feel I'm not a kid all the time. Besides I disagree with one of your movies about creativity. ENFPs are second best type in creativity after ISFPs. But we're creative in ideas and ISFPs don't understand or like that kind of thinking. But whatever they do, IT is full of art and creativity.
    There's one thing I'd like YOu to dig in about ENFPs. It's more of a dark side. When I say something, I believe in IT, but that does not make it true - sometimes because of this (and I mostly hate myself for IT) I become a Perfect human manipulator. It's like I engage myself in awkward situations with bad people, who take me for naive and want to use me, but I gain info and when things go very hard, I cut myself from this group, inform the Police, for an example, and use all that bad against these people. And at those time I get almost satanic determination. Most of the time I do something small, some projects, they go genius and no-one believes me I did it. They say I copied this. I am an "easy target" - say there are a hundred people in a line and there is a mission impossible - people make me do that, "knowing" I won't be able to. But when I do this they feel ashamed and I try to explain I just did IT partly, that I just started and I try to engage others into this. It only works if I make a fool of myself and people are able to prove to themselves their part in that started by me project was signifficant and mine was not. When the thing becomes possibile of course - just as I say - "easy target".

      @@fattysl26 He has some strong Ti as well, but it is always from the pov of Te.
      He finds loopholes in things that I say. But I have seen that authentic Ti is the one who actually finds the cause, the one who reaches the conclusion.
      I'm thinking about the difference between Chase Joseph and Michael Knowles.
      Chase uses his system in a very Te way, while Michael, is using only logic based on the facts.
      I think that the difference is between conscious Te as in an ENFP and unconscious Te as in an ENTP.
      Just like for me is conscious Fi and unconscious Ti.
      A lot of conclusions of Chase are pretty arbitrarily, but he's also different from someone who helps him by the name of Chris.
      I see more types than just those or combinations.

    • @kseniAlivalife
      @kseniAlivalife 3 года назад +1

      I think the way you can really tell the difference is by arguing with that friend.
      If they always take the same point of view and feel hurt if you keep trying to prove them wrong and they say things like "it's my truth" - ENFP.
      If they tend to be very fluid with their point of view, constantly changing their side of the argument and you can't quite understand where they stand and they are more likely to not care whether or not they are hurting your feelings in an argument - ENTP.
