Unbelievable (in a good way!!) !! My 12 y.o. son said he couldn't figure out how to take apart the centrifugal clutch on our little go kart. I searched and this video popped up!! PROBLEM SOLVED!!! Thank you sooooooo much! Great explanation, good visuals! Thanks for the helpful tips! Thanks for posting!
Damn that was way better than any video on RUclips before ... Wonder how many people are gonna make videos showing this same method and never credit Max torque or red beard for showing them in the first place...
I would buy one of his clutches just from this video alone, who gives anything away these days. The fact that he will just give things away to people because he can says alot about his integrity
I often wonder what the advantage of the center for clutches I switched to a torque converter and really enjoy it but there must be some advantage to maintain a centrifugal clutch would love to hear comments
unfortunately most of the clutches sold on the net are chinese knockoffs that are sub standard, they even say max torque on them, see red beards other video of Jim detailing how to spot a fake max torque 4 cycle clutch. ALSO I want to see all the work he does on the Draggin skin clutch AND the re-sprocketing of the Hartman oil bath clutch drums!
I need some advice. I am converting an air raid siren to run on a predator 224cc gas engine, and I want to use a centrifugal clutch. Therefore, an offset chain and sprocket drive seems to be the way to go. Problem is, I don’t have a mill or lathe, and I am reusing the shaft that the siren came with from the 7.5hp 1950s GE 3 phase induction motor that I scrapped to help fund the project. That shaft is about 1-1/4” diameter in the area that I’d need to mount a sprocket. The drive ratio needs to be as close to 1:1 as possible to reach full blast at 3450 RPM. The motor is governed at 3750 RPM so I have a very small bit of wiggle room. I have no experience with anything like this, and I’m learning as I go. Sirens, I can tell you any damn thing you’d ever want to know. Gas engines, sprockets, clutches, chains and such? This is totally new territory for me, and I don’t really have anyone with experience to consult with. If anyone could help me with some questions, I would appreciate it so much.
Is it possible to change the output sprocket on a clutch? I can’t find a 10 tooth #40 chain sprocket with a bore larger than 7/8”. If I could swap a larger drive sprocket on, this project would be a lot easier.
@@jacobkent9813 I am on disability so money is tight. I managed to scrape enough last year to get motors for the minibike and gokart but since then they have broke and the boys didn't get to ride them this summer.

Talk about customer support! This is a good example of what Made In USA used to mean.

Glad you finally found someone who knows something , at least you filmed someone actually doing something other that standing in the garage bit you do
Yeah it took a while
Not everyone knows how to rebuild one. So this video helps people out. Why go buy a Brand New one when u can clean or fix yours unless it's shot? 👍
Red beard is so legit! Can’t wait to see what he does next!
Awesome how to video! I have an SS clutch I'm looking to upgrade, so this is just perfect!
I like to hear that he'll give away some stuff that they won't use, alot of uses for round stock
Love the background music, however it may be a tad bit loud for others vs the people speaking. ✔️
Love to have one of his clutches here in the philippines having a hard time finding a good clutch
Good guy for sure...💯😎🙏
I'd like to work at max torque.. Looks like a good place to work.
Not bad, I use 3 C clamps with the side he has on the bottom facing up instead of facing down. Just as easy.
Great video Greg 😎👍🇺🇸

Whats a good tooth clutch for my 60 tooth rear sprocket? Thing wheelies to easy. Scary to ride
A clutch and chain is all that keeps me from getting my kids back in the seat. Can't afford it yet lol
Ken Johnson wat you mean I can’t afford any of it

Where do I go to visit this guy what state is he located?
if you cut 3 or 4 rounds off of that spring you will have higher launch rpms
Will that help stop my daughters kart I’m trying to finish up from spinning the wheels while at idle?
How would I remove a bushing with a stripped flange on a t belt drive centrifugal clutch
👍👍👍
