The BBC decision to sack Lineker was overturned by VAR
😂😂
No unfortunately it was overturned by the spineless BBC!
@@frasersutherland6837 correct.
Please accept my apologies for my pathetic attempt at humour.
I now realise that the utterances of an ex footballer and crisp seller are of national importance and not to be trivialised.
I hope Mr Lineker’s brief comments haven’t left you too traumatised and I wish you a speedy recovery.
@Mark Blair At least we know what camp your in!🤣
@@frasersutherland6837 And we've noted where you are
At least we now know who’s running the BBC and it’s not Tim Davie!
He is reinstated because of massive public opinion in his support. The people who pay for the BBC (the Public) apparently run the BBC after all, despite the Tory Party's attempts to do so.
Exactly as it should be, don't you think?
The Conservative Party.
@@jujutrini8412 they couldn’t run a bath. The leftist TV luvies are in charge here. They couldn’t even get rid of someone that they wanted to. They’re pathetic.

Well it’s still the Tories but it should be the people. License fee and all
The irony of Jim calling anyone a sidekick..
Hahah he is the main presenter and sits in the middle and still just a sidekick hahah
Martin is trying to copy Gary the woke Lineker.
Freelance = Tax dodger
Martin really is thick as mud..Linekar has not been muzzled or had his free speech compromised...if he had he would of been kicked off Twitter...doh!
@@RonaldoCarbone what does woke mean for you?
"sack the lot of em".. Simon backed away from that one faster than VAR decision..
Sack them ...there rubbish 🗑
It's ridiculous
Simon Jordan was so forthright last week as how Lineker had breached his contract. Now he caveats with ifs and buts. Nothing wrong with changing your mind so long as you’re not a mug about it.
Well said
This. Sometimes Simon should just own it when he's in the wrong, but he loves trying to weasel out with a " I was mostly right" attitude.
Loved seeing his flustered, red, Tory face all rattled. Brightened up my evening
Simon is a hater
yep suddenly moderated his outrage as soon as he’s reinstated!!! .. the guy has an opinion about every subject known to man and always acts like he’s right!! he’s an obnoxious arrogant misinformed and usually wrong spoon.. 👍
Martin and Simon absolutely hate each other. I can't stop noticing how Martin always says Jim's name while he's talking, trying to childishly make it obvious he doesn't like Simon.
I don't think it's childish. Just a clear indication of what he thinks about Simon: that he is not worth addressing.
I have to agree - sometimes he is such an idiot and clearly in love with the sound of his own voice.
they’ve been taking shots at each other for ages, Martin went in on Simon for being a failed owner again recently and Simon retorted that Martin isn’t an invincible because he only played a couple of the games, kinda petty and childish but it’s about as exciting as you’ll get from Keown
@dis kid Yeah that's an ongoing theme for them, makes for good viewing though so let them crack on haha. I actually think the only other presenters in that chair that Simon has time for are Pearce and Murphy.
@Rene Roo I'm a big Simon fan and think this show is nothing without him. However, if I was in the room arguing with him personally, my opinion may change! I can see how he'd get under your skin, clever bloke really.
@@antmax696 I find that Murphy tends to agree or prefers not to get into a clash of minds with Simon. Whereas Martin almost always stands his ground. Simon in both cases 95% has the most convincing arguments which makes them both look a bit stupid, not that Simon is right 95% of the time.
While not completely relevant, Clarkson said lots of things the BBC didn't like and it was only when there was a physical altercation that they got the excuse to dismiss him.
The BBC have let things fly for so long with the big personalities and there was no way Gary was going to be leaving, they could not afford it.

Currupt and bias .
You understand the difference between expressing views and physical assault?
For years, every time he said something ‘offensive’, all these BBC presenters and celebrities were lining up to get Clarkson sacked (including Lineker). Now, they love free speech when they say something offensive. 😂😂😂😂
Different times my friend, there was a period where free speech was acceptable and nobody knew anything about American politics and there was only 2 genders, the good old days
@@blue24563Lineker stated fact. It was only offensive to Tories.
Not political though
Martin is going to put Simon through the barbershop window one of these days.
I'd pay to see it, talks like he's a hard man but you can guarantee Simon would be straight on the blower to the police if he ever got in a physical altercation
Wouldn’t blame Martin for doing it one bit.
Yeah I could see Martin thinking ”I’ll fold you in half you speccy mug”
Nice rockers reference, but surely keown is marty janetty in this instance 🤣
Simon is a know all smartarse still exhibiting a touch of bitterness which he deflects on to Martin.
Martin and Simon don’t particularly like each other 😂
You think??? wow! you are astute!🤣😂😅😆🙃
If it wasn't for players, he would have been capable of running a football club.
It's all their fault that Simon messed up.
I sense bitterness towards footballers, very interesting , it’s clouding his judgement and he ends up searching for ways to defend his position.
It's not just footballers. There is an inherent snobbery and condescending element to the establishment. If you are not considered part of the cognoscenti, then your view is considered irrelevant.
It seems, from the little I know (too lazy to search ) . going by his use of words . That he likes to exploit situations and people , comes across as a bit of a user !
I could be wrong , definitely has paid for knowledge, the stuff that hurts to acquire . Nice one Thanks
@@Coys01 Who are you talking about?

Bitterness towards footballers? Let me tell you something Mark, I've been around a long time, and I LOVE football, but I HATE footballers. Hate them. Lying, cheating, bullying, arrogant, petulant, snidey trash the lot of 'em. Not an honest man amongst them. I've yet to see Simon Jordan lie. I don't particularly like him, or dislike him, but I've yet to see him be anything but honest. As for Lineker, you know what the worst swear word is, the 'c' one. That's what he is.
MOTD was always better with Des as host ; )
Think it's safe to say martin wouldn't piss on Simon if he was on fire
Sounds like a waste of pee
I think is the other way around 😂. Simon hates the air Martin breathes.

Question to Martin Keown. When Matt Le Tissier , Phil Thompson, Tony Cottee was sacked by Sky. Did Ian Wright support them?
Well as Wrighty wasn't on Sky probably not don't think that Shearer supported them either. Both are often employed by BBC. Why didn't any of the Sky presenters support them?
@@kashgraham6453why were they sacked? Were they guaranteed a job for life?
@@philwill0123 Don't think that Sky sacked them, just didn't renew their contracts, am thinking that they wanted to change the line up. I didn't like that Charlie Nicholas was let go but that's life

He’s a Tory loving fool who hasn’t let go of his complete bitterness at anyone who may succeed in football,

There will come a time when SJ and MK won't be sharing the same studio. The tension is just too intense. SJ better be careful as MK can only bottle that rage for so long .
He shows him no respect, but that’s on Martin. Simon is on a different level intellectually to anyone else on TS, and he doesn’t tread carefully around that fact

Simon is very smart guy who knows a lot but boy isnt he arrogant. He is too proud to accept that he is not the only right man in the room. Will never acknowledge other people’s success without a “but”. Have always had lots of respect for him and i still do but today’s show has proved my point about his attitude.
Very well articulated respectfull comment.
I just think he's a c%#@
Exactly why I find him disingenuous he never gives a neutral view or is pleased for anyone other than himself he’s a narcissistic arrogant piece of work
The rudeness towards martin by Simon is terrible. Dont know how martin isn't going through him for a short cut.

Fantastic stuff Steve, however the overwhelming majority of people completely disagree. You're welcome to watch it on mute in the future.
It’s basically a highlight reel in that format. You can find those in many places. Saves you time on watching MoTD
Watch it on mute then
Lineker is not as popular as the BBC think he is.
Where was the solidarity when sky fired three legends in Nicholas Thompson and LeTissier
Simon changes his mind like the wind!
Well, with regards to this issue, he hasn't changed his mind.
Backed the courage of his convictions.
Doesn't know if he's Martha or Arthur as he would say
How did he change his mind??? He said if it was in the contract then gary was wrong. If it wasn't then gary was right... The same thing he said on friday
He did, he seemed sure Gary shouldn’t have said something and assumed he wasn’t allowed.
Like a lot of very intelligent and knowledgeable people in life, Simon Jordan has almost zero tolerance to anybody else’s opinion…
Zero Empathy
not sure bout your observation but thats totally right with Simon😂😂
Yeah he had a very punchable face
He's a failed club owner. He has no tolerance because he feels threatened by other people. It's impressive the confidence he has when his nearly bankrupted a football club and blew lots of his money.
@@Joe-og6br He's actually a lot more down to earth in his book. I sometimes thing he's playing "Simon Jordan the character" here.
Simon Jordan doesn't have a problem with the BBC taking direct orders from the Tories? Where's the impartiality in that?
Gary in his golden ivory Tower was completely wrong.
Is he waiting on a six year waiting list for a dentist like me?
Does he have to call his g.p at 8:30am to get an appointment. And 8:31am they are all gone???
He has no clue about the reality of immigration at all.
The cold hard truth.
Yeah we already know this. Everyone who spouts Gary's views on immigration, don't have to compete with them in any way whatsoever. Their opinions are utterly irrelevant on the matter.

@@benjaminmarshall1068 Why should we be in the top ten? We are a very small country compared to most of the ones you mention and need much better infrastructure.
I want my license fee back
They made this into an argument about free speech to distract from the issues being argued over, an argument Linekar and the profiteers he carries water for were in the process of taking a massive L over (public backlash on social media/huge tv rating for Linekar-less MOTD), such a slime move, sorry but some of us look up from our food now and see the games
I wish there was someone at the BBC who would go on twitter and say something as extreme from the other side of the spectrum. They would be blackballed from all media.
@@kevinb9830 Well exactly, the BBC has their own prescribed truth, they've been steering public opinion through the thin layer of entertainment since their inception, the idea that they're impartial is hilarious, it's always been a propaganda mouthpiece, Alf Garnett anyone?
Lineker was drawing attention to the issues. 36 Tories signed a petition to get rid of lineker for making them and party look bad. Boris's loan bitches at top of BBC got leant on. Maybe you should look up from your food more.
I like and respect some of Jordan's opinions, but my gosh there's a bitterness eating away at him. Envy towards Lineker's popularity and reach, anger towards Martin for having had a successful football career and massive regret around how his own club ownership ended up. It bubbles away just beneath the surface like Gollum's lust for the ring.
Well put and I believe you can put Gary Neville on that list too of people Simon is envious of.
So you're a mindreader?
How come match of the day without lineker had half a million more viewers
@@wozzi71 Because people were curious and drawn in by all the drama.
Very bright eloquent and terrific at putting a point across colourfully but yes , clearly an unhappy man
1. The BBC already warned Lineker so he knew his views were at the very least unwelcome, yet he continued to post on Twitter. Shows how much he values the BBC.
2. The BBC didn't think to make the necessary stipulation when his contact was renewed and he agreed a 400k pay reduction.
Do away with both Lineker and the BBC. The level of punditry is dismal and the licence fee and how the BBC chase the fee are inexcusable.
Dumbest comment so get rid of Lineker a man that's been payed the biggest wage at the bbc for seven years now....with only Zoe ball coming close to his yearly wage erm maybe just maybe because he's doing a great job and that's why BT sport was paying him the best money aswell or Spanish La liga TV he's box office for any employer
The bbc can’t warn him to do anything that’s not in his contract, which it wasn’t, hence why he came back. Mad you people still cling to that notion when it was proved not to be the case
I like Simon Jordans honesty 😊
Simon scorching Wright at 8:20, love it
I loved Wright as a player for Arsenal but as a pundit he just comes across abit of a fool at times.

I'm a Newcastle fan, but if Shearer, Wright, Lineker etc are the best at what they do then football punditry is at a very low ebb.
Lineker is a very good sports presenter. That's just a fact.
@@aaroningl Perhaps, but only if you're a fan of inane banter and an air of smarmy arrogance and narcissism. Every pot has a lid so good for you if you're into that. 💯
The biggest problem is the ludicrous amount of coverage this story has had, giving Lineker's ivory tower opinions a level of credence they are completely unworthy and deserving of.
Mr Jordan's analogy regarding the verbal insulting of a police officer, was stupid. The concept of being arrested for saying words is a direct contraction of freedom of speech. How is it free speech if the consequence of your saying them is the removal of your freedom?
This 'freedom of speech, but not freedom from consequence' is a self-serving caveat people often try to impose in order to undermine free speech, designed in order to retain their imagined right to shut down things they wish not to hear.
The price of genuine freedom of speech, is that people are allowed to insult you as much as they like, and it is a price you would be foolish not to pay.
I think Simon is very harsh borderline rude towards Martin.
He's straight talking from the hip that's why people listen to him. They don't want to hear mealy mouth fakes too scared to say the truth.
@efc toffee Not sure I agree.. I don't find him very straight talking, if you look over most of the clips and points he makes they tend not to come to fruition and makes a point by not making a point.

While I agree with what Simon says regarding the disposal of the lemmings such as Shearer, Wright etc. It then turns into a vicious circle, if they don't get their jobs back I'm pretty sure Lineker would support them until they do. Let's not forget, the focus here is Lineker and the potential damage that would ensue as a result of his dismissal
Just sack the lot of them and dump motd! It’s so biased it’s ridiculous!!!

He works for the BBC but they can't control what he says outside of his job! If my manager tried to do that to me I'd tell him where to stick it, so why should Gary?
Jim loves the drama 😂
All those football pundits who supported Gary Lineker, like Ian Wright, Alan Shearer among others were former England players and teammates
MOTD views went up by 500,000 without the jug eared snowflake. Opportunity missed to get rid.
People interested in what the show would look like, maybe coupled with the show being considerably shorter.
Bit of a peacemeal argument there obviously going to go up because of the outcry and I'm sure they'll triple next week when he's back and everyone will watch is opening monologue and then the wets will tune out and go back to twitter and the ardent football fans will sit back and watch.
Truth is you sack Gary and you may aswell wrap the show highlights are now instaneous on RUclips via sky and bt the days of sitting in front of the TV watching all the soaps are slowly fading with streaming services ruling the roost
The case here is very clear and straightforward. The rich and morally empty trying to control anyone that has an iota of moral capacity and human capital toward those that are suffering around the globe. Good for you Gerry Lineker👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Simon is bang on the money.
Yeah right
Simon Jordan - the only person at Talk Sport who isn't a Liberal mouthpiece.
How about we just cancel the BBC license fee? I don't pay it anyways, but it's ridiculous that I keep getting letters sent to me threatening to have someone come over. The BBC should be a subscription service for people to pay for if they wish. The reason they don't do it is because not enough people care about the BBC and wouldn't pay a dime.
Gammon.
@@philip013 if I'm a gammon for not wanting to pay the license fee then sure. I don't care.
Why does everyone let simon jordan talk over them. He always tries to behave like the most intelligent person in room. Martin needs to fight back more!
All I’m saying is if Lineker would have come out in support of the bill. He would be sacked and cancelled by now.
Gary Lineker won. The BBC took a major L and so did all the people that tried to go down the hate speech route. He didn't tell one lie. And I'm not even a fan of his.
They are the best at what they do, that's funny
I dislike the BBC, the government, and Gary Lineker. Why people are so invested is beyond me. Clown show.
No love lost between Jordan and keown!!!
Charlie Boy Vespa Well spotted, you are obviously a Geniearse!😁😆😅🤣😂🙂🙃LMFAO!
Simon was shaking his head so much his glasses nearly fell off
Lineker is a puppet
so like BBC , the puppet of the tories
Lineaker is a good, well trained puppy, isn't he.
Yeah he a puppy for them Liberals
Obviously not in this case
He is, cant stand him..Like Neville and carragher
Clearly not mate, he's just managed to annoy the entire BBC, the government, the entire written press, and a big chunk of angry bald geezers over the age of 50 🤣
All by saying something slightly critical of govt. policy on Twitter..... Maybe look in the mirror and ask yourself who the well trained puppy is, Paul.
😂 how?
The one that's come out against his employer is a well trained puppy. Explain that
