The FT3 is an exceptional value at $300. It betters some headphones at twice its price. For reference, I prefer it over the Sennheiser 600 Series in most aspects.
I bought them and I do like them but like I’m not sure that you can compare them to $1500 HD 800 which leads me to believe that whoever says that doesn’t have both.
Great job with this video. You got me interested in the Fiio but I think I need a discount before I add to my armada of headphones. I like how you included some albums as a micro review! Keep that up. I could not quite make out the tubes on your Dark Voice. Would you mind sharing the model and make, unless you plan to make a video in the near future? Best of luck with the channel I liked and subscribed!
Thanks Robert. I use psvane cv-181 be and 7236. I would need to look at the manufacturer of the 7236. I will do a video on tube rolling as I have linlai tubes in the house plus older nos tubes.
I'd be very surprised if there's any discount on this in the near future. Part of it's appeal is that its price is super low for what you get. This is seriously the best value for the money that you're going to see at $300. These things are awesome. I like them almost as much as my Clear OG- they're not quite that good, but the accessories and build quality are just as good or better, and the quality of the sound is only incrementally worse. These should be the new default recommendation at $300, unless you have very large ears, or don't like the styling.
I'm glad you mentioned the Thieaudio Ghost in your review, as it has been on my radar for a while. As an owner of the FT3, I had been eyeing the Ghost as a rather different headphone, but do you think their sound has enough "overlap" that it makes purchasing the Ghost pointless? Do you run the Ghost with stock pads?
I made a video about the ghost. I like the ghost for the money but a bit warmer and more bass that gives it less clarity. The ghost is a fun listen. I used dekoni pads on the ghost and it loves tubes also. FT3 is a huge step up in clarity and performance.
I like them a lot and I think the best way to classify them are good headphones with a bunch of free shit. A 4.4mm to 4 pin balanced XLR is like 40$ at my audio store. I wish it came with a 4 foot cable in a 4.4 balanced termination instead of a long one with interchangeable tips. Btw what is that cable you have and where can I buy it. Yea so 300 good headphones wit$h like $100 of accessories.
@@false-set no no I love that about it. It’s just that I’m in love with the cable it came with and I don’t want a different one I just want it to be shorter☹️
@@jackfein8914 ahhh now I follow, & agree. I hope they do start to sell these cables in different lengths… mostly for Focal reasons lol. Maybe with the ft5 we will get something different.
@@false-set I read somewhere that they bought out the remaining stock some company had of the cable that they're using, and later models might not even use the same one.
What can you say about the bass of FiiO FT3? I really enjoy electronic music and want to know if the FT3 is good for this type of music. And of curse, I don't want a super basshead headphone because too much bass gets in the way of the highs frequencies. Did you test the headphone in games? If yes. Is it good?
Thanks for your job. Any other comparison with other cans, would be appreciated . On head fi some people says the're better than Ath r70x. Do you have ever compared withe them? Thanks. Greetings from Italy :-)
Sorry sold most of my headphones so I could review new ones. I can say that I have never heard a dynamic driver headphone sound this good and with so much soundstage.
@@hellofriend4941 tough question. I love planars with the speed and attack. Still have a few planars and love the he-6. This is more of a reference sound and the amp can change how it sounds. Just good to hear this on tubes and how amazing it sounds. A dynamic driver that can sound this good is amazing. Quality on this looks much higher than hifiman if that matters.
@Thrift Shop Reviews hmm I do know that QC in hifiman is just trash But everyone says they're sound signature is a very different and stand out one and actually i got sundaras for 300€ down from 500 And now i wanna get the fiio k7bt Just wanted to see if i can get a little more out of these fiios or nah Btw thanks for response
Sorry I don’t have experience with audio interfaces only dedicated headphone amps. I looked it up and no output power listed. This might be tough to drive on that system but not sure
Get them here

Nice video review and headphone update. Keep up the good work
Thank you for doing this review.
Nice, thank you for the heads up on these.

The suede pads have more bass btw.
And warm it up less treble
Thanks for the review! I just found you and subscribed.
Many thanks.
I prefer this much more than the audeze maxwell, but that’s wireless. This does run just fine off of my btr7 though…..so technically……..
Cool. Thanks for the feedback on the maxwell

Match with FiiO k7
Sounds great with K7. I still think it sounds a bit better with my SMSL SU-8s/SH-8s stack, though.
