    Nice Apollo 13 reference 🤩 if I didn’t know better I swear you guys could be rocket scientists the way you’ve planned and built this van!lol 👍🏼 thumbs up

      The epitome of a van build: square peg in a round hole 🤣🤣🤣 We find ourselves quoting Apollo 13 and the Martian quite often...those guys had alot of problems 😉

    You guys are charming. Did you ever plug the hot water pipe to your faucet (can buy a compression-fitting plug)? Otherwise, if you bump the hot water valve on the tap and it opens, won't water pump out the hot water line back into your sink base?

    • @FreedomStrider
      @FreedomStrider  Год назад

      We did put a plug in the hot water line otherwise what you said would have happened 😅

    Great job but I prefer a pump. Enjoy the running water!!!

      @FreedomStrider  2 года назад +1

      An electric pump is certainly less space-intensive but we wanted to try the foot pump one in the hope we can reduce our water consumption 👍

    Awesome vid. This is almost the exact same way I’ll be doing in my own van. I’m still hesitant about drilling holes into it though. 😅

    • @FreedomStrider
      @FreedomStrider  2 года назад +1

      Drilling holes to the outside is actually not that scary once you start, it's more than anticipation. Admittedly drilling into the floor is more risky because there's alot of stuff you can hit, hence our measuring. Best advice is take your ur time and if you can, drill from the underneath up and you'll not damage anything mechanical under the van 👍

    Wait you put a hydronic heated floor but you use a foot pump to run your sink water?

    • @FreedomStrider
      @FreedomStrider  2 года назад +1

      Yep... we are a mystery 😎😂
      The foot pump is useful for controlling how much water we are using. We have a relatively low water storage capacity so we are giving it ago. Could replace it with a electric submersible pump later on... might have to due to space saving issue with our reciculating shower plumbing 😉

    Well done guys, could I recommend you add a relief hole or pipe for your grey tank? We have one in ours for when it gets too full and we can’t empty it, it just goes out of the overflow relief pipe. It’s been a life saver especially when we are in a car pack or somewhere we can’t empty the grey tank 😊

    • @FreedomStrider
      @FreedomStrider  2 года назад +1

      We did drill a 10mm relief hole at the top of the tank, for exactly that reason 🙃

    • @FreedomStrider
      @FreedomStrider  2 года назад

      An open pipe like that can be fine in some locations, but depending on where people are when they are when they travel, constantly exprelling grey water may not be appropiate.

    How many miles did you cover before road chippings and stones impacted on your underslung tank ? Did you offer it any kind of protection ?

    • @FreedomStrider
      @FreedomStrider  Год назад

      The underslung tanks are fine without special protection, they have not been impacted as the plastic is quite thick

    Great job. Have you thought about a filter?

    • @FreedomStrider
      @FreedomStrider  2 года назад

      Thought about it - yes although right now there's no need for one for the sink. Always a possibility to upgrade to an inline one in the future though 👍
