The wind wing because it is more free. You're not harnessed to the sail. You can kill power instantly and do S turns, jybes or surf small lake swells. However, the kitesurf foil can go in the lightest of winds. The windsurf foil is straight line runs unless you are really good.
I just started wingsurfing, am already quite good in windsurfing with foil, so it was pretty easy for me to learn wingsurfing. Altough I guess I`m slower with the wing, I guess I will go more wingsurfing than windsurfing in the future..it feels just more free as Greg already mentioned.
GoFoil 29.5" tuttle mast. Plus the plate adapter which makes it 3 inches taller. The GL180 front wing and pedestal tail. Board is the Jimmy Lewis Flying V 115L. I weigh in at 157lbs
Assuming same size foils I'd bet on the Wind surfer because the sail is more efficient, locked in and vertical. With that said, most people are not foiling for speed. As a comparison - surfers do not surf for speed.
I think I’m gonna choose kite and first learn twin tip and then with good kite handling learn to kite foil. Then once you have a foil you can get a wing if you wish. With getting the kite down first, if you feel like it, you can also get nice air with the kite and do some mega loops.
Good idea! I started kiting 3 years ago and by now I'm also kite foiling, but also doing insane jumps with my twin tip when the wind is blowing hard. I might try the wing trend one day but no rush
a kitefoil is way too small for wing foil.. unless you consider something rly big for kite foil... for wing you also need a big almost a SUP size board...
Nice video. What would you recommend if you never tried anything like this before besides snowboarding and a week kitsurfing lessons, what is easiest to learn? I assume wing foil is the easiest setup?
Wind Wing is the easiest by far which is why we are going to see a huge growth with it. You can buy a wing then use on a SUP, snowboard, skiis, skateboard. The foil is another element you can learn with the wing or tow slow behind any boat.
@@aquaman1 This is a great response! Thanks. I am a surfer and standard windsurfer, but I think I will start with a wing and then gradually pick up the foil.
What were the wind conditions and what wing and foil sizes were you using? Can you plan with 7knts wind with wing foil? Have you tried inflatable wing foil?
7knts is too light for my 6m wing foil but enough for the 10m kite foil. Someone with a bigger wing maybe. Never tried inflatable but would like to. Great for traveling.
@@dominiquegagnon5264 The kitesurf kite can generate more power and get you foiling on the super light wind days. Since making this video larger wind wings are being made. However, a kite can harness the wind gradient. The wind wing is more fun in the waves and places where you can't launch a kite. The windsurf foil for those who want the windsurf feeling, but I'm not a fan of it even though I windsurf. I predict a decline in windsurf foil. The wind wing is my favorite.
Love this one Greg.
Amazing video! Nicely shows the different disciplines with the similarities and differences between them.
Nice! Where is this place?
you can attach a leash from your board to your wing and from you to your board if you wish
very nice video :) great job
OK, and which one do you consider to be the most fun?

I think I'll stick with foil kitesurfing , having the wing right in front block the whole view I enjoy when foiling.
Which one is faster in light winds like 5-12 knots, wing or wind?

Which kite and size is that?
10m Airush Ultra. Don't need anything bigger.
@@aquaman1 Thanks!
The Kitefoil will need half of the windspeed to get go... :)
No strings, launching or landing, no mast, no boom, no bar, no extensions and no massive board. What's not to like. Wing!

And the winner is ..........????👍😎🇫🇷
Depends on the day and conditions.

@@aquaman1 Thanks for the info. I think im gonna go with kite foil but wing foil seems fun :)
kite surfing need medium or strong wind, big jump, old skool new skool trick, wawe riding strapless, no foil, kite foil sucks, is for grampa rider
Kite always wins.
Higher=more wind.
