I would suggest stopping at 800 or so grit next time you redo it. The clear will fill the etch and have some surface to adhere . If you get down to 2k grit the clear will eventually start to flake.
Leaving it at 800 Grit won't leave the headlight smooth though, yea you can wet sand it afterwards but it would leave little bumps or feel like cracks. Unless I did it wrong lol
@@JzLyfeyou don’t want it smooth. You need a surface for the clear to stick to. The clear should lay flat and fill the sanding marks if you use the right process and sand paper.
Lol RUclips showed me your channel as a mutual channel meaning we share the same audience so I figured I'd come check your channel out, love the content I just subscribed, keep up the good work, also we have those same locusts here too they are annoying lol.
Looks Good! Every time I do this to my AP1 or any of my family's cars I just can't want to drive them at night to see the better light output you know? I just use a sponge and wrap the sand paper around it. Works like a charm. :P And the voice audio was a little low, maybe an external clip on mic for the camera? Liked and subbed!
A wet sponge makes a good sanding block and helps keep the surface wet. Also I don't think I've ever seen a headlight so bad that I needed to start with 220 grit, I'd start with 320 at most, probably 400 to start and see if that works. No point in putting deeper scratches than needed and you save some sanding steps. Good job though.
Did you try whitening toothpaste before sandpaper? I have an 87 convertible Vette and the rear rubber window is so yellow that I can't see out of it. Haha. I tried using Sensodyne toothpaste, but that didn't work. This video gave me the idea to use sandpaper. Pray for me 😂😭
At first i was like you fucked them headlights up by sanding them down but once I seen the end of the results 😲 not only are you Gorgeous but smart 😘❤❤

Don't restore headlights better to buy them new its cheaper and if you think about the value over time the new ones will cost a lot more on the resale and get more buyers interests
false, nobody will know nor care if its wet sanded and looks good as new, or looks good in general lol. cheapest is to restore, not buy new unless badly damaged.
Love you headlights they look amazing! ❤❤❤😊 keep up the great work i enjoy your videos.
lmao "headlights"
You are too cute!🥰 props on your diy 👍
I was thinking of adding clear coat to my headlights too. I am glad you answered that for me.

Awesome content Girl!!!!
Your channel just popped on to my feed. Why haven’t I come across you sooner🥰
Need upload more often 😊
Your videos are great. They are very relaxing, probably not the intent but I like the quieter sound without a microphone lol.
I was taught rubbing compound and wax after. It works but it's something you have to do annually.
One question after you did the wet sanding. What compound did you use to remove the dull haze from the sanding paper?
meguiars ultimate compound, very inexpensive about $12
@@suookie thank you 👍

Suookie try 3M's Headlight Restoration Kit. IT really works. It also protects the headlights and prevents from ocurring again within time. Good luck!
