Social media has ruined the Secret Spots from people wanting to get the 15 minutes of fame. To many places have been ruined and vandalized. I appreciate your enthusiasm for wanting to share your adventures, but sometimes it’s best left alone.
Ha, I just drove through there on my way from Denver to Reno and back this past weekend. I also have a 4runner and a Sur Ron, both are great and are keepers. I love watching your videos to find places around Colorado to camp and ride my Sur Ron. Keep it up!
It's not a permit, it's a recreation pass and it's $5 you can get down the highway by Kamas (Yellowpine area). They don't limit numbers, monies go to upkeep of restrooms and picnic areas in that part of the Uintas. May not need one if you are just passing through.
Ha! the sign that says "recreation pass required" you should have already had one if you have been camping up there for a couple days. You can get them from the pay station you passed a mile past Samak, across from the yellow pine trailhead. There is a self pay kiosk. There is not a "permit" to use any particular trail in the Uintas like in national parks where they limit traffic/use. Lots of people just blast through hwy 150 to Evanston but if you turn off Mirror Lake Highway in the Uintas Wilderness, you need a recreation pass, that's all that sign said.
I know where you camped! (but I won't tell...) It's a beautiful spot. I've been all over the Uintas. Bow hunted lots of the North Slope. You could spend all summer up there from Kamas to Flaming Gorge and be just beginning to scratch the surface. Great video. Stay safe.
Hey brotha, where is this? Im looking to take my wife out someplace like this for our anniversary. I've looked and cant find it. Let me know if possible!
yup, it's beautiful out here. Just an hour outside of salt lake you can be on the salt flats if you go west or in the mountains if you go east. which drone are you flying? The video quality is pretty good. : )
Its different when you are actually there. very humbling. You can rent some ATVs/side by side/dirt bikes in SLC and ride in the Knolls OHV area just 15? miles east of the salt flats. One of my favorite places to get away and decompress with the family. We camp out in the salt flats and its a perfect place to play and relax.
I agree. I am pretty sure I know where this is. I’ve been to a lot of different spots around utah that are just perfect and nobody knows about them so it makes camping there all the more better.

I'm thinking the same thing I need to find this location but I understand how good locations like this can be ruined by people but can you tell me where to start looking at least?
@@spencerroberts9815 I made a riddle to find it. I'll give you a week to find it using this riddle and if you can't I'll give you a nudge. If you're good at map reading you'll find it. That’s exactly how we found it 2 am at night then amazed in the morning 🙌🏽
I feel blessed to have grown up in Utah and especially enjoying every summer in the uintas
Do you know where this site is at?
@@killjoy0484 it is called Flat Top Mountain and is west of Saratoga
You sir make the most stunning overland videos. As a fellow videographer, I salute you! This is the best type of therapy when you are stuck at home!
Utah is one of my favorite states! I just got back from exploring the LaSal mountains, Moab and Canyonlands. The geology of Utah is mind blowing.

The nighttime time lapse photography is stunning. All around great video.
Thanks! The best time-lapse was all Justin's!
We have husky liners in our 2011 4runner and they’re great! Take them out, spray them off, then put them back! No more vacuuming carpet.
Almost my back yard, glad you enjoyed it out west come back again soon!
where is that spot at 10:12? My wife are driving out to Yosemite and stopping here along the way!
Did you ever find the spot? I live in Utah and want to check it out.
Stunning spot!
Good job! Sweet shots!
Great to see @AmbitionStrikes make a quick cameo in this great video! 😃
Great video and storyline! Well done! Thanks!
Great video. Nice work! Definitely inspiring me to get out there and do some exploring and filming!
Do it!
Well done. Great camps, great company. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks!

New Sub here! What amazing content!! I’m trying to figure out where that is based on the view of Timp in the distance. The Uintas are awesome!!
What’s the name of the campsite with the cliffs and views into Wyoming? What’s the trails name?
Its FR412 near soap stone basin. 40.55090, -110.92314

Great work! Too funny I was just starting to think “how is he getting those great shots driving by” when you picked up the camera! 😆
The cut at @13:43 made me jump! haha Awesome video per usual
enjoy the videos so much. ty
Can anyone confirm the Yellow Lake Wildfire took out the epic camp spot @9:24? Mega loss if true :(
Yup, it burned.

Beautiful spot you found.
I would love to know where that campsite is.
Fantastic video!
I live in Utah and there is still so much of the Uinta Mountains that I haven't explored yet. Would it be possible to get coordinates on the spot?
Same
FR 412 A near Soapstone Creek
How do you find other people to run around with? I love that you are always adding people to your escapades
Facebook groups usually. Several people I travel with are from a meetup I hosted years ago!
im fairly certain you cant see wyoming from there?
Lost my drone there today 😅 worth it though. What an amazing spot.
Amazing!,,
Why'd you limit it to 60 MPH?
A 4Runner isn’t fast before you strap all the gear and bumpers to it! I was a joke though - it can go a little faster than that!

Hello from Italy. Nice video my friend 👍+🔔🔔
So where is this located? Please message me 😅

Just outside of Laramie. We went back through Wyoming though, so there will be more to come!

I've lived in Utah my whole life, I would never drive a car I liked out on the salt flats. You will not get all the salt. There will be corrosion.
You said aluminum correctly!! Nooise
I did, but everyone knows that it's supposed to be aluminium!
There is absolutely no way any of these "campsites" are less than several hours drive from Salt Lake City.
For the last campsite it's about 50 minutes from SLC to the unpaved road, then another 20-30 minutes after that to the cliff we camped at.
spent 5 minutes in google maps and found it 🤐
Me too. Luckily there's not a lot of pure vertical cliffs in that area ;)
Got the coordinates?
