Thanks for highlighting this, which is a feature of which I was not aware. This would be great to share picture as a fine art image. I’ll be trying out this feature the next time I share an image to social media.
Wow, a very worthwhile addition. Right, I thought, give that a go straight away! Very sadly, not available (yet?) on Android. Why oh why can't Adobe do universal releases? Still a big thank you to you Brian!
Thanks for this, a very useful feature and probably overlooked by most of us, including myself I was wondering if you can show a Lightroom workflow to produce a ‘fine art’ style black and white long exposure result Many thanks Andy
Like you said, I wish that feature was in Lr Desktop! Great new feature that I didn't know about, but then I"m rarely editing on my iPhone so how would I? Lol!
Nice video you mentioned vertically at 4.5 what about landscape horizontal is that also at 4.5 also is there a set number that you use for size. Thanks Mark
That's true... but I don't use LR Classic. This channel is focused exclusively on Lightroom's cloud-based ecosystem of apps. Still, reminding people that it's possible in LRC is good. 👍🏼
I guess I have been doing it wrong this entire time. Under Transform section on Lightroom Classic I play around with the scale option to get the desired border look.
Hey Brian, thanks for the suggestion! It's a great feature, but using LrC I only have Smart Previews at lower resolution in my mobile app. Are you aware of any way to sync the original, higher res, file?
My pleasure! If you're syncing photos from LRC to Adobe Cloud, then it'll only send Smart Previews. You'd have to import the original photos using Lightroom Desktop, Mobile, or Web to get the full res copies available.
That feature is missing on Android. I've got the pixel 7A and it is missing because I did look for it so I used to have an iPhone. I used to use that a bit on the iPhone 13 pro over a year ago actually
I was worried about that because I don't have an Android device to compare it to. Hmmm... I'll look a bit deeper to see if I can confirm whether Android doesn't have that feature.

I have been aware of that feature but never gave it second thought until now, thank you I will definitely try it .
That’s wonderful! I love hearing that kind of feedback to my videos!
Adding a white border (the only option) in LR Classic is very easy using the Transform/Scale slider.

Nice feature and thanks for sharing! I used to import to Canva to add a border but should be able to do it all in Lr now
Very cool! I did not know that feature existed!
This is great to know. I will definitely give it a try during Football season. I thank you for all of your videos.
In the Lightroom Classic version you can use the Print Module to add a border and save it as a Jpeg.
Sorry but Lightroom Classic does not provide any Save As option, and the Export as Jpeg option will ignore any border you set in the Print module.
Great Topic 😉
Thank you, my friend!

You can get close on an Android, using the vignette tool: top slider to 100,, all the others to zero. Corners are a bit rounded though.
Whats the point of this video if the result is ugly? Having an uneven border its fugly 🤷🏻♂️
You can do this Lightroom classic, using the print module, by adjusting the cell size and the paper size

Does it work for Android phones, couldn't find it on the LR mobile app?

It needs to have a drop shadow option.

Brian Matiash the option is not available on my android phone or tablet. Any ideas?
I was worried about that because I don't have an Android device to compare it to. Hmmm... I'll look a bit deeper to see if I can confirm whether Android doesn't have that feature.
@@brianmatiash Not seeing it on my Android either. Just checked there weren't any updates (there weren't)
I’ve confirmed with Adobe that it’s not currently available on Android yet.
@@brianmatiashIMHO when Adobe adds a mobile device feature it should be added to all platforms
@@brianmatiash Thanks for the quick reply.
Is it true that Instagram prepares the algorithms to reduce views of photos with borders and signature?
While I have no insight into that, nothing would surprise me when it comes to IG's algorithm.
How can you do it on Android please
It’s not currently available in Lightroom for Android, just iOS.
Great to let people know about borders. But this video shows an ugly border solution. Make the border consistent or polaroid style.
