Best version ever. So glad to see Slash's guys getting into and have rehearsed it to death. Nice tip of the hat to the Max machine and just how good they really were
My favourite memory of this show was that my friend made a sign that said 'Slash, I will get your autograph tattooed on' and threw it up on the monitor at the end of the show. Myles saw it and smiled, we waited out back and talked to Brent and eventually met Slash, he autographed my friends forearm and the next day we went to Ottawa for me to catch my flight, and he got it tattooed on, thank god there were some tattoo shops open on a Sunday. Amazing night. One of the best shows Ive ever been to
I can't stop watching this... Battlescar is a great song, very under-rated publically... but something most musicians can appreciate. Powerful but not overdone, Kim Mitchell caresses a tasteful, skillful guitar solo when he plays this. This song just sounds so good live.
Chris Sutherland is an excellent drummer. Style and ease of play with such smooth movement, transition and crispness. One of the best around!! Love watching this guy.
This got almost no attention in the states. In '80 or '81 Rush & Max Webster crammed all their gear into a room & recorded this song. It appears on Universal Juveniles. At the time is wasn't in print in the US. I had to order the record & wait 2 months. I first saw Max Webster opening for Rush on the Permanent Waves Tour.
Same here. Max Webster opened up for Rush Market Square Arena in Indianapolis ! I bought universal Juveniles right when it came out. So many great songs on it !!!
I picked up Universal Juveniles in the states after I first heard the song. I was living in NH. Much to my surprise the entire album was excellent. Pretty sure it was in 1980.
I first heard this on the radio in Dallas, TX in 1980 - was so powerful and tried in vein to find out who this was. Luckily I recorded it on a Teac 4 channel reel to reel and still have it today. All I knew was that was Geddy Lee on the vocals at the time. It wasn't until several years later when Kim Mitchell's Max Webster CD's were available by special order did I realize who this was! Simply Brilliant!!
WOW !!! I love it !!!! What Energy !!!! Very progressive in my humble opinion . Fantastic effort by all and a well working collaboration !!! Thank you !!!
What an awesome video! & they sounded killer tight as well,Kim Mitchell is an underrated guitarist for sure.& the drummer Chris Sutherland rocks because we have the same last name lol,I'm a Sudsy also.
Dude's no Geddy... But Dayum.. that was pretty freaking good. And wow, talk about tight rhythm section...🤘🤘 The guitars just sang👍 What a great version of Battlescar .... love it! Thanks for posting.
Man, this is absolutely incredible! Was this concert broadcast on TV or is this a DVD from the show, and is there any chance I could get a copy? Looks and sounds amazing!
Kim makes it look so easy - phenomenal skills on the guitar
Chris and Brent were right on perfectly with each other, absolutely fantastic

Blistering version of Battlescar. Trading leads and vocals. Todd Kerns brings Chris Cornell to the Geddy Lee parts. That is metal. Killer.

Cool arrangement, with light and heavy working beautifully together. Tight and together playing too. Yeah!

Still sounds as fresh as when it first came out! A great song for a guitar-heavy ensemble to jam to.
Best part - Todd Kerns admiring Pete as he absolutely BELTS out 'FEEL THE WAY I FEEL' near the end... amazing stuff.
