New sequin mermaid tail first swim!

My first swim in my newly completed sequin mermaid tail! This tail is gorgeous in the water and up close. I think it’s one of the most realistic tails I have ever made! I performed 6 mermaid shows / meet and greet swims in this tail and the crowd loved it!

How I made it: I purchased a Mertailor silicone flipper in 2017 (they have been discontinued) and started sewing a base for my sequin tail. I got the sequins custom made by mermaid Kariel. This project took 2 full (and large) bags of sequins and over 20 tubes of glue! I had to place each scale by hand and work on it in small sections. It was made on a duct tape double of my body so it would fit me exactly and has a hidden zipper and decorative silicone fins. I finally completed this tail after almost 5 years of working on it a little bit at a time.
