- Veteran game developer Brian Fargo (Fallout, Wasteland, Bard's Tale) breaks down why the RPG series will shine like never before and how the Microsoft acquisition has helped.
I played Fallout 1 and 2. Brian is the man
Preordered on Gamepass..... Only game I wanna play for the rest of the year.
What about BG3? In such crappy times we need many great RPGs to help of through.
Cyberpunk??
@@NRV0 I do want to play BG3 ...just replayed BG1 and BG2 on Xbox. BG3 hasn't been announced for consoles yet though. I love those isometric RPGs.
@@houseflan2505 Same, but I can't really play them on console. I brought Pillars of Eternity for Xb1 and just couldn't come to terms with the controls.
@@NRV0 commanding a team using a controller is not easy
I'm so happy Brian returned to success,
he deserves it big time.
I'll give it a try! Looking forward to their next project as well! 👀
Really excited about Wasteland 3. But even more excited about what they can do with a big Microsoft budget and proper time and personell. Really bright future for inxile. ❤️
Fargo the legend
I need to try this game
You'd think a developer who's doing this many interviews would get a pair of headphones and a microphone.
3 was downright AMAZING. I beat it twice and a friend lost it before the expansions....now that i taught my son how to actually get somewhere on 2 I am buying the game again....yep
It really is the best!!

Sadly the bit about not giving anything up in favor of the game being approachable is just not true :( I had high hopes for this game but since seeing the gameplay demo I am kind of disappointed. Giving up individual turns is horrible to me :(
In my opinion it makes it more strategic because you can plan ahead with more clarity while in individual turn games it's always a bit too chaotic to predict how turns will play out in my head. I say this based on the knowledge that this game's combat is a grid based strategy rpg game heavily inspired by XCOM but if you have a system like Divinity Original Sin 2 the individual turn order works great.
Also, in terms of role play I think the "team turn" approach gives it a "tactical squad" feel if you know what I mean. It feels as if your team is acting in accord with each other in a planned assault instead of the "every man for himself" approach of Final Fantasy Tactics for example.
Nah, after playing Wasteland 3, I can’t go back to traditional turn based in an rpg. The flow of combat is so quick, but the strategy and difficulty is still retained. I think it’s perfect pacing.
