    I was looking at some of your videos 3 to 4 years ago. Even back then your teaching was excellent, but today I see that you just Glow with Confidence. You still have that amazing teaching technique, not only for beginners but , well just for everyone from 5 to 95. I notice also that you don’t miss a beat when teaching which is why we can all understand at any age. Excellent!!!

    I just discovered your videos and I think they are great, much clearer and easy to follow than other guitar videos. Here are the things that I find helpful: 1) You use 1+ 2 + 3 + 4 + to count instead of only on "down, up, down, up...). 2) You have excellent graphics to illustrate what you are teaching 3) You count down before you play, which enables me to get in sync and play along with the lesson. Thank you so much!

    Hi Lauren. I am 62 years old. I have had a acoustic guitar for about five years but only (after a breakup and being alone) my Ex had bought me the guitars as a gift but it was a killer o my fingers lol. So, I picked it up to since I had new time on my hand and distraction. I always liked the song gone with the wind. I tried it last year from you video and started to get better at it but it was frustrating. Meanwhile I seen your tutorial on landslide and crossed over. It took me over
    A year but I finally got it minus the solo. Thank you. I love the acoustic and wished I had picked it up earlier. I only love finger style. It’s soothing to me. I just heard another soothing song but can’t Find it anywhere(If they are I
    Refuse to learn from anyone but you😊) the song is ‘Little green’ by Joni Mitchell. Never heard the song before but it’s in that same soothing vibe I like. Do you think you can do a tutorial some time on this? Meanwhile I’m going to go back to what started it off for me: DUST IN THE WIND. Again thank you
    Over. It took meer a year to get it but I finally did

    I like to make my D chord with finger 2 on D- 4 on B- and 3 on E. Then for the A chord I leave finger 2 on the D string and move 3 to the G string and 4 to the E. This pushes my fat middle finger furthest away from the fret and leaves 3 and 4 side by side right by the fret. And my middle finger can almost reach the mid point between the frets instead of having the first finger crowded into the first fret wire. I can play the A chord the standard way like you do, but these finger positions seem to have a lot of great anchor points that can be used to reach several chords. Anyway thanks for all thees great guitar lessons Lauren, I love your laid back cheerful attitude. I've been working on my strum after watching your how to strum and sing video.

    I am curious if we are going with the second strumming pattern (dddudddu) then do we change the refrain or still play it as ddu-ddu? What would you recommend?

    • @LaurenBateman
      @LaurenBateman  9 месяцев назад

      Whatever feels right. For those just starting I recommend picking one and sticking with it.

    Btw. I don't know if it's your cold, but your voice kind of sounds like Stevie Nicks😂
