Hello Olha! I purchased this Proxxon MF70 Micro Mill earlier this year for my ship modeling hobby, and have loved using it! It has come in so handy and does a great job in shaping some small details. Still learning a bit on how to accurately measure and place stops, as I have simply "eyeballed" some cuts so far. But, all in all, an excellent machine and great addition to my shipyard! Working on the Pavel Nikitin Santa Maria now, then the Constitution! Love your videos! Thank you!

Really happy to see this tool in your hands! Proxxon has the small 1 2 and 3 mm tungsten carbide end mills. They are extremely sharp and very very good for wood 🪵

You’ll enjoy having this in your arsenal of tools! A couple things you can do to improve accuracy: The cross feed table mounting holes are oversize which allows adjustment to true up the table to the spindle. Put a small bar, end mill, upside down drill bit etc in the collet chuck, and crank the table (X travel) to one side and adjust so the side of the inserted bit is in the T-slot and close to, but not touching, either side of the slot. Now travel in the opposite direction and watch the clearance between bit and slot to determine which way to move the table to true it up. This is a rudimentary approach, but it’ll get you close enough. Or you can buy a dial test indicator and use it in place of the bit to get ultra precise! Also, square the vise jaw (using the rigid jaw) the same way when mounting it to the table. If you’re lucky, after truing up the vise, you may find that the vise base is dead square with the table front, so future mounting of the vise after removal can be done with a square! I’m really looking forward to your using this machine and reporting your haughty in the coming months! I have a Sherline lathe & mill and love both!

    Olga, congratulations on your purchase!
I had been considering this option for a long time. My favorite tool is an excellent hand mill from Sherline, which works well when you need to create a single part. However, when producing multiple identical pieces, in my opinion, a CNC-whether a laser, printer, or milling machine-is the 'must have' option.
I considered Proxxon, but ultimately decided against it as I had the opportunity to acquire a more powerful and precise (repeatability failure = 0.015 mm) machine, which is necessary for processing metal. I am extremely satisfied with my choice, as it allowed me to craft, e.g. perfect 3 mm blocks from pear wood.
Additionally, I’m very eager to hear about your experience and am looking forward to seeing the first results of your work!

Every tool can be useful. After all, if you have everything at hand and you don't need to change nozzles, you can work faster. But it's definitely not a necessary tool, especially if you have a Mill like this, or even just a rotary tool with a stand...
