We're back with another Day in the Bay!
Today's Day In The Bay we have this awesome Mk 3.5 Convertible Golf owned by Max.
Max has gone to the extreme with his golf to re-trim the interior completely in leather! See how easy it is to clean, condition and protect using just one product!
Max admits he's never used a DA on the car but he didn't think the paint was too bad considering it's been fully repainted. Luckily the bay is fantastic for showing up defects that you might not be able to see... So using the Ultimate Compound we show Max just how easy it is to remove those swirls for good!

I have decided to detail my car after feeling confident watching your videos now 😄
It's a Pearl White color hatchback.
It has swirls if you look closely from an angle. I want to get a shinny smooth finish with minimal cost as I might also sell the car in a few months to upgrade.
I have a few questions 😁
1. I'll clean car thoroughly, maybe use an iron remover
2. I'll Clay
3. Compound
4. Polish
5. Wax
Now in my country car products are expensive as it's all import.
I had a plan to do Meguires Ultimate compound, then ultimate polish and wax. It's a small car and the Wax specially is most expensive!
Should I go with the Meguires white paste wax ?
As it's a white color, swilrs won't be visible right. Will it be suitable to apply that directly after claying. Just 1 product?

Thanks to your videos I've just spent £135 on your products! Your videos clearly work from a marketing perspective. Is there a difference between the drying towel and finishing towel?
Other than size no. But because the drying towel is much larger it's far better at absorbing water when drying the car.

I finally made a choice and ordered MEGUIAR'S COMPLETE CAR KIT with the mt310
I said the same thing... he didn't prep the pad!
As we mentioned in the video at 3:50, because the paint is single stage we don't want to over apply the product but at the same time use a firmer pad to correct the paint efficiently.

Dale, at the release of the new meguiar's ultimate leather detailer, can we mix it with ultimate balm?, Which one first and which one in top coat ?.

Give the initial clean, condition and protect with the leather balm and then you can maintain with the Leather Detailer when it's released.

Do you recommend using a clay bar towel instead of a clay bar?
Do you recommend using a clay bar before compound and polishing. After polishing is it okay to hard wax the vehicle
Can we get Maguire’s 3” foam cutting pads? The Autobrite Direct 3” foam pads I used on a 20 plate Clio detached from from foam backing. In all 3 pads fell apart due to insufficient glue. The 3 stage Maguire’s on a black car was hard work but worth it. I’m still aching now. Products used 2 x MT320, 1 x 5” backing plate, 1 x 3” backing plate. 5” Maguire’s Cut, Polish and Finish foam pads. 3” Autobrite Direct Cut, Polish and finish foam pads. Autobrite snow foam (purchase in 25l drums). Ultimate wash and Maguire’a Super Thick Microfibre Car Wash mit using 2 bucket method. Ultimate WashClay kit, Ultimate Compound, polish and wax. Drying towel Maguire’s x 2, GT dryer and Finishing towels.

Can you please explain what is the difference or benefits of using the Gold Class Shampoo vs the Ultimate Shampoo? Thanks.
The Gold Class contains conditioners that help with water sheeting away from the panel. The Ultimate Wash and Wax is our only shampoo that contains suspended carnauba so when used leaves a layer of protection on the car.

Carnuba wax and then ceramic detailer? Im currently just using hybrid ceramic wax. Much easier :)

Question: can you compound/polish metallic paint?
Absolutely! It's a great question and one we get often. It's totally safe as you work on the clear coat which is on top of the metallic.

Can I just compound to get swirls out without the clay bar first? And after compound can I go straight to wax without polishing first. Doesn't the compound put oils in it, so I can just go on to wax?
Clay bar removes grit and dirt that you could grind into the paint.
Its better to have a clean surface, go all the way!

Dual action. You can see the machine vibrate when first turned ON.
So if i use a compound, then a polish, and then here you use the carnauba wax, but can you use the meguiars ceramic spray wax instead or would a paste wax be more beneficial?
So the Hybrid Ceramic Spray wax wont add any gloss to the paint. Just protection. A paste or liquid wax like the Ultimate would had gloss and protect the paint.

Don't go through automatic car washes. Get as much debris off the car before touching with a wash mit. Use the two bucket method to wash it and never wash in a circle motion.

Iv tried the ultimate compound with the red Meguiars cutting pad and the swirl marks just don’t go of my mk5 golf gti,so iv ordered menzerna 400 followed by the menzerna super finish,hopefully things will work,if not,then I’m paying for a pro to come out coz these swirl marks are doing my head in specially wen the son hits the car and being tornado red you see it a mile of
I used ultimate compound with the microfibre cutting pad and it improved my tornado red paint on my Mk7 golf but there are still swirls aswell.
Try s20 black with the spider pad...my motor is red also .....came out pretty good
Depens how deep the scratches are! Potencially look into wet sanding the scratches first, saves you plenty of time but be careful not to go throught clear coat.
You could do rotary cut, and then follow with a da to polish to get the haze and the holograms out...thas what i do sometimes....
