Steam train rides between Haarlem and Leiden The Netherlands April 21, 2024

Something a little different. Now in gauge 1/1 ! Running all day, close to my home,
what else can you do but make a video of this gem on rails!
These train rides are organized to see the flowering bulb fields on a historic train. The ride is on the oldest stretch of railway in the Netherlands between Haarlem and Leiden. This stretch of railway was also the first to be electrified in the Netherlands. From Haarlem to Leiden, the BR 23 of the SSN and the return journey to Haarlem pull the former Dutch railways, 1251, electric locomotive. In total, the train made the Haarlem-Leiden-Haarlem journey 5 times with +/-500 people per journey

She is moving along at a fast pace. The helper looks like an EP-5.

It is not a helper! Panthogaphs are down when it runs at the end of the train. The NS 1200 series locomotive is pulling the train on the return journey. On return the steam locomotive is almost idle.
