@@codycast More like Tom's lawer. After seeing his Pursuit of Tone documentary after years of only hearing Mark's side, I think he just got burned out, and I don't blame him; it's actually pretty common with punk bands. The break up was messy though and I think a lot of it had to do with miscommunication caused by their lawyers. But yeah, either punk bands end up playing the same music for 30+ years without change, take a break and go on hiatus, or create side projects so they can continue to experiment with their sound. I don't think Tom ever stopped trying - some of his best work is with AvA; I think he honestly just got tired of Mark and Travis and touring. He also decided to prioritize being a parent. In more recent performances, you can see Mark and Travis would take their kids with them on tour. I can honestly see that being taxing on the kids; it's not the lifestyle for everyone. Tom being able to work on his creative endeavors, while caring for his kids, and creating music on his own time is something to be admired; I honestly don't think he gets enough credit for it. Now that Blink has 10+ ghost writers and has artists like Pharrell and Lil Uzi co-writing on the tracks of the new album, it seems like they are suffering serious burnout as well. Not really feeling their newer stuff anyway. If anything, Mark should just continue Simple Creatures and maybe give Blink a break, especially since Matt still has Alk3 amd Travis is always collabing with hip-hop artists. Just my two cents.

It's crazy how a change of drummer and producer could change everything for Blink. I love this Dude Ranch period so much where everything sounds authentic, Scott was a pure punk drummer, energetic and smiling.
