I was there when he explained this. He said he came up with it because that time they were in London a kid in an elevator told him his hair made him look like Kirk hammet from metallica ,( while imitating a British accent)
yep...good things never last long...Omar really pushed him too which must of created some amazing music in the process...you can tell the guy lived on drums...so close to Bonham...
When I saw this show for the first time I asked myself how they could do this perform just few months after Jeremy's death, they could be lost and down, but instead made one of the most beautiful concerts ever. That was a lesson for me beyond music, and uploading this at Jeremy's birthday is a great gift. Long live The Mars Volta.
this was it...the moment to see Mars Volta...when John was drumming...lightning in a bottle right here...never the same after this point...this is raw and how i will always remember them. Epic performance!! thanks for sharing dude :)
For any other band this would be a normal show. But for TMV it's so weird to see them just play there songs straight. What do you mean Drunkship isn't 30minutes?
@@evanwright9016 When I saw them last year, Cygnus was over 20 minutes and no other song apart from Graveyard Love went below the 10-11 minute mark. You sir, are talking some uninformed shit.
I was lucky enough to see them with John and Ikey Owens, saw the a couple of times after with Thomas on the drums, still cool but no match to this line up.
It was shot in 2003 and released on DVD. What do people expect? It’s funny that the same people who will bitch about this will ask for the band to release current footage “on dvd.” As if dvd has ever been good quality. It’s 480i. It’s a garbage format.
Long live the Marble Shrine.
You're really lucky if you got to see them during their first few tours playing like this.
This times a millon
"Hello, We're Mudvayne." 🤣
The randomness of Cedric's jokes would be surprising, but then you read the lyrics that came from the same mind. :)

This lineup at this point in time was the best band in the history of music
They truly were like rush good and talented. .... + live performance. .... woo fuckin wee
I never get tired of hearing Jon on drums. He was so crucial to the band, in my opinion.
Dude is insanely good

this was a rare time were they played all songs from the album in order. they said they hated that in interviews so they quickly stopped
They barely jam on their most recent tour.
@@evanwright9016 Have you seen them recently? They do quite a bit of jamming, not as much as 03-05 but still a lot.
@@evanwright9016 i saw them and lvia was like 30 minutes

"When 900 years you reach; look as good, you will not." This transfer is amazing! Thanks for this goodness, The Marble Shrine!
