I write music as a hobby and feel that way every few months until a new inspiration hits me, but I can't imagine being in an actual band on a deadline to finish an album and having that feeling and the stress that would come with it.
my favourite part of the actual physical copy of the album was the little tidbits of info in the artwork on how each song was recorded. I remember going in my room after school and playing the record and looking through the artwork simultaneously.
I know exactly what you mean. I just picked up the Untitled record on vinyl yesterday and the inside has all those little notes nice and big on the inside.
Must be the weirdest thing when your friendship becomes a business. Funny looking back nearly 20 years and as an adult seeing human dudes and not just blink 182. You the man Mark thanks for aw the tunes and being a stand up dude.
My favourite Blink album by far. It was such a step forward in terms of experimentation, songwriting, and emotional maturity, and it's one of those records you can just put on and let play all the way through without skipping any songs.
Like imagine. When mark said "There it is, that was the death of punk kid" I think it is crazy having a demo of a really great song and the seeing LIFE footage of it being forgotten and just briefly remembered 20 years later. Thats crazy core

My bass is still standing next to me in the living room, I'am about to be a father myself any minute now. I want to thank you Mark, for passing all the laughs, all the chills, all the vibes, all that magical california feeling straight back to Belgium. You're the best!! BLINK 182 FOR EVER

I truly enjoy the fact that White pulled up socks are finally a thing for the youngsters now in the 2020's. I have the feeling that pop punk is coming back. Who knows... my newborn daughter might go through the next phase of poppunk music.
This was really cool for Mark to do. I remember being a teenager when these videos were available to see, there is so much more footage than what was shown, and as a young musician being able to watch one of my favorite bands, it meant so much. Now to sit here much older and to watch this footage again with Mark... is actually so cool.

This video is unbelievably cool - I remember being in high school waiting all year for this record to be released and watching the studio clips slowly release as it progressed. I bought the physical CD the day it was a released when I was 16 - I now have the vinyl framed and hanging in my apartment. A masterpiece of an album and so cool to hear Mark look back on it all these years later.

Glad to see all this stuff. The work that you've done in blink 182 is very big and impressive and it's cool to allow us to see more anecdote like this. It remember me the "Tale from beneath your mom" book but for Untitled ! Thanks you for this video !
I loved when bands used to have In The Studio documentaries and videos, not just on MTV but so many CDs you bought you could get a "deluxe edition" with Making Of footage on a bonus DVD. It is so cool to get to see someone almost 20 years later looking back on this footage and giving even more information on that time period. I wish Mark (or anyone from any band, really) would do this with more footage from previous albums! This is truly one of my favorite albums of all time and it's fascinating to see any part of what went in to the record.
Sadly it seems that all went away with cds, but at the same time we have RUclips now. You can see countless footage of bands or artists whenever wherever so I guess it evens out. It was just cooler and nostalgic when you actually got a separate little movie with the cd of your favorite bands.
Thank you for sharing this with us, Mark. Blink 182 is a lifeline band for lot of us, your albums are soundtrack of our lives, your music accompanied us through bad and good times. we love you, guys

I was a huge Blink fan back in the early 2000's and remember recording this on VHS at the time and watching it over and over, so it's really good to see Mark commentating on it. At 1:03:40 Tom is wearing a black Atticus jacket. I remember buying one off Ebay at the time, dyed my hair black and walked around school in 2003 thinking I was the coolest kid on the block 🤣😂🤣
This was an MTV special. I recorded it and watched it literally everyday. I'm a musician, and that 2003 record changed my life. I was obsessed with it.
When MTV broadcasted blink's untitled album documentary in March 2004 (at least that's when it was broadcasted on MTV in Europe) my girlfriend recorded it for me on VHS because I was on a school trip with our class at the exact time it was shown on TV. It meant so much to me and I would come back to the documentary time and again (later on youtube, of course) because I was so fascinated about how all those songs came together and all the banter and fun between the three band-members and their friendship just made me like them even more. I gotta admit, though, that I wasn't an instant fan of the untitled record. It took time to grow on me, but then it became my most favorite record ever. I'm pretty sure that the documentary did its part here as well. Anyway, when Mark recorded his reaction to the untitled sessions I watched most of it, but couldn't help contemplating about those days being over and it made me really sad. Now that Mark, Tom and Travis are back together again, Mark is healthy, and their upcoming record is just weeks away, I can finally sit down and watch this with a smile on my face. Thx, blink! Love you, always!
I remember I recorded this with my vcr and a blank tape off of mtv when it originally aired. Brings back a lot of good memories when life was a lot simpler.
Thank you mark and blink for this album, it means so much to me and so many. I still remember the red cd player I had when I bought the album. It’s a timeless piece of music.
This whole thing gives me so many feelings. The album, remembering this documentary, seeing Mark laugh at Tom being dumb. This album changed my life at 10 years old. Maybe the second album I ever owned, and possibly my top album of all time. I'm glad they pushed the release back so many times because the result was a total masterpiece. Blink became the first band I ever got obsessed over.
Listened to blink and boxcar a lot as a kid (10 yrs old in 2004), and having a sort of rediscovery of the music and the band mates lately. Watching this is amazing

We really enjoy this! We need more content like this Mark! 🤟🏽
i still cant believe this was actually made for this album. So freakin amazing
i'm your 203rd sub remember me when you are big bro
God I needed this so much. This doc has been such a huge source of inspiration
Thank you mark and blink for this album, it means so much to me and so many. I still remember the red cd player I had when I bought the album. It’s a timeless piece of music.
39:02 you can tell Mark loved that song, no words needed
Don’t waste your time on me you’re already the voice inside my head (yed *sic*)
Some of the best lyrics i’ve ever heard.
This is such a treat. Love this album so much
This whole thing gives me so many feelings.
Came back to just bask in the news that Tom is rejoining!!! More footage like this to come❤️❤️
Listened to blink and boxcar a lot as a kid (10 yrs old in 2004), and having a sort of rediscovery of the music and the band mates lately. Watching this is amazing
I really think their Untitled album is one of their best. I love the entire thing. I would love to hear what "Punk Kid" would have sounded like
Ive always wanted one of Marks basses, ever since i was 16, but never had a chance to get one, one day ill make that dream come true 😭
Finally, Mark Hoppus is RUclipsr
I bet that Punk Kid song would be a hit, please finish that Mark! It sounds like that song was always one of yours in the first place.
I clicked on this video accidentally, decided to stick around for a couple minutes - ended up watching the whole thing. Love it!
