- My first venture into South London since June 2019 sees a visit to the busy terminus of London Victoria, served by both Southern and Southeastern services! This video was filmed from Ebury Bridge, which lies just before the approach to the station, boasting front-page worthy photographs of trains ascending and descending the Grosvenor Incline.
Featured in this video are loads of Southern Class 377s, as well as plenty of Southeastern's 375s, 377s and 465s. Gatwick Express (before it was announced they would be permanently ceasing service) was also featured in this video, operating 12-car fast services to Brighton under the Southern brand. A handful of the dwindling Southern 455s are also featured, with many of them either ready for the scrap pile or being refurbished at Wolverton.
My next video will be from Norwood Junction on the Brighton Main Line.
Enjoy the video :)
Times of filming: 10:10 - 11:15, 2nd April 2021

Brilliant mate well worth watching. Is that location easy to find? 😊
Thank you! It’s very straightforward - just search “Ebury Bridge” on Google maps and it’s where this road crosses the railway.
@@ItsAllAboutTheJourney 👍👍 thanks
Good video I’m hoping to pay a visit here at the end of July along with going to Gatwick airport too
Definitely worth a visit!
I didn't know that the 430 class from the 377 generation of southern services is refurbished! I looked at every possible 377 service class and they all looked the same. Interesting.
Indeed, many of the 377/4s have been refurbished now. At the time I recorded the video it was just 377430 but has expanded to maybe 20 of the 377/4 fleet now.
3:35 casually skimming past the graffiti
Haha yeah a lot of trains have the graffiti problem
Great! Will you be getting TSW2 Rush Hour? Includes London Victoria - Brighton via Gatwick Airport
As soon as it comes out! Really looking forward to the Rush Hour series.
@@ItsAllAboutTheJourney Me too! I will do a Few videos on it Eventually
@@Irish_Transport Is that on the Sidcup loop? I'll look into it :)
Which one is your favorite trade I was London Victoria is it the class 377the class 738 Gatwick express
Ooooh that's a tough question. I'd have to say the newly refurbished Class 377 units with Southern. Have you seen Victoria's new departure boards too?
wait... in the description it says that the Gatwick express is *permanently* ceasing service
There's no mistake there... the Gatwick Express brand will be permanently ceasing service - the first of their 387s have re-entered service with Great Northern... I can see why GTR chose to get rid of the brand, it wasn't profitable before the pandemic and selling tickets for trains just a couple minutes quicker to get to Gatwick for twice the price was never going to work...
@@ItsAllAboutTheJourney :(
do you know when this is happening?
I will miss the GX
@@CoolTransport GX are gone already I think - haven't been down there since their ceasing of service was announced. 387201 and 203 are the ones with Great Northern already, with 206 at Hornsey waiting to enter service. GX will be missed by many definitely.
@@ItsAllAboutTheJourney last Thursday when I was at this same spot I saw 387210 headed out of victoria :/
@@CoolTransport Since the start of the pandemic the 387s have been operating for Southern on London-Brighton fast services. I think this is what you may have seen; some of them are still on the Brighton Main Line. However, it's not impossible that the 387s could stay on the BML with Southern, or even displace their ageing 455s on metro services.
