I have often pondered why the Lord said “Feed my lambs,” “Feed my sheep” and then again “Feed my sheep.” Why the repeat? One day I realized that “lambs” is plural and “sheep” is plural. . . and singular. So, to me, the Lord is saying “Feed my children,” “Feed my adults,” “Feed the one.”
When you made that connection of Christ asking Peter if he loved Him or just the miracles... I thought of that Christian song that says, “Help me want the Healer More than the healing Help me want the Saviour More than the saving Help me want the Giver More than the giving Oh help me want You Jesus More than anything “ That is really what it’s all about. Knowing and Loving our Savior for who HE IS, not for what He can do.
Regarding the 153 fish, I had a thought. As a fisherman I'm thinking that they would have sold the fish, and 153 fish probably would have brought a lot of money. So, Jesus asks Peter if he loves him more than the fish, or the value of them which probably was significant. Peter says he loves Jesus more than the wealth of the fish..
Thank you for sharing the letter from you daughter who is in a mission right now. It touched my heart so much I cried. I’m so thankful for your videos. You guys bless my life.
I didn’t know it was possible for these lessons to get any better! But they continue to strengthen me and my family. May the Lord always bless you and your families.Absolutely loved Grace’s letter!!
When you compared “fishers of men” to “feed my sheep”, I thought of the changing role of Peter. At first, as an apostle, Peter was a special witness of Christ in bringing disciples to Christ. The final phase is different. With the resurrection of Christ, Peter becomes the president of the early church. Peter received direct instruction as the prophet. Christ emphasized the the importance of ministering to members with the “feed my sheep” repeated three times.
Hi from New Hampshire! I am learning so much about the scriptures from you guys. I didn’t know Mark was written to be read aloud. And last week, I didn’t know Jesus was quoting Psalm 22 on the cross (even though there was a cross reference footnote...). Your first-hand spatial insights into the geography of Jerusalem and Israel are so helpful, too. For being a lifelong Christian, I know shockingly little about the New Testament. The Come Follow Me curriculum is such an exciting opportunity for me to learn more about my Savior in good company. I am so grateful to have people who love the scriptures to walk with me on this New Testament journey and to point out all the cool little things I didn’t know were significant. Thank you for doing these videos!
Thank you so much for all that you do and for everything that you bring to us! I am very thankful that I can be able to watch this and learn daily! I am not much of a reader even though I do know how to read LOL I just learn easier by doing and watching if that makes any sense LOL so thankful 4 modern day technology and God bless every heart every soul and I thank our heavenly father for the miraculous peace that passes all understanding and every breath we take and every day that we wake maybe feel it more and more miraculously as we wake and continue our day and I pray these things in the name of Jesus Amen🙏🏼☝️✌❤💪☝️
Everyone is talking about your channel and so I stopped by to take a look. I appreciate your enthusiasm and anecdotes but am concerned with your understanding of the content. To be fair, this is the only episode I’ve seen but, well, let’s take Mary as an example. “And certain women, which had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities, Mary called Magdalene, out of whom went seven devils” (John 8:2). The casting out of devils is part of a description of women being healed of evil spirits and infirmities. There is no indication of wickedness or “devilish”-ness. In the New Testament, devil possession was blamed for seizures, mental illness and aberrant behavior. Just do a word search: Blindness (Matt 12:22), Dumb (Matt 9:32), Lunatic (Matt 17:14-18), etc. There is no evidence that this was a moral condition. Also, the assumption that because she was a woman, she would not be listened to? There is no evidence for that. Even if you were using Lynne Wilson’s book, she admits (in the book) that the handful of mean things said about women from men in positions in authority likely had little impact on the day to day lives of the vast majority of people. Yes, Luke says that the testimony of the women seemed to the apostles as "idle tales" but so did the testimony of the apostles to Thomas. No one would believe without seeing it. It didn't have to do with the validity of the messengers but on the impossibility of the message. A better source to understand a more authentic view of women from that time period can be found in the "Anchor Bible Dictionary" (Yale University) entry on "women" (you can find it at many libraries) and the “Women in the New Testament World” by Oxford University Press. Women were in every level of society as rulers, business people, and over the private sphere. There is no evidence for a historical practice of not believing women as witnesses from the Biblical time period. Please check your facts and sources or at least post references to your sources so others can check them out. People are listening to you and repeating what you are saying. May the Lord bless you in your efforts. PS I really liked the connection of the Blessing of Israel (Num 6) with what Christ might be saying as he blessed his disciples in Luke 24.
THANK YOU for doing these videos! I have been struggling finding ways to do CFM with our family to keep it interesting for our teens. We watched this lesson tonight and everyone really enjoyed it. What fun, too, to hear Grace's letter. One of my daughters leaves in August for her mission. How inspiring to hear the adventures/experiences Grace is having and what a great example for our children. We look forward to your upcoming videos. -With grateful hearts, we are praying for you from north Metro Atlanta.
When I first saw you were giving away those books I thought how wonderful of you and you had an actual number which reminded me of the precise number of fish in the lesson. You are so refreshing! Sorry I cannot meet with you in person but online is highly recommended from me.
Love these videos- thanks! I hope I can be there to meet you guys tomorrow. One thing that stood out to me today is reading into the 153 number. I feel like in the church we want to find secret messages in the wording of every detail and I bet 90% of the time it's just speculation. Why do we do that? Isn't the clear and direct message enough? Anyway, just a weird question that came up for me.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! For all of your insights and amazing examples, connections to other scriptural references, just everything! But mostly for sharing your knowledge! I am a literal, concrete thinker and I get lost when it comes to symbolism...so thank you for opening my eyes this year! You two are AMAZING!!!
I’m praying Grace will be serving in my daughters Ward or walking on the street in Sacramento and she will reach out to a less active sheep and feed her. Thank you for all that you do to help us Come Unto Christ!❤️
Hi! I'm writing from Mexico City, I enjoy your videos so much, I am the Sunday School's Teacher in my ward, you are helping me a lot, thank you! I would like you to refer to your notes from the board, they look great. Where can I see the sources you mention? I want one of those books!
I am so happy to hear the scriptures come to live in this videos. I gain more love for Jesus and the apostles has to read along with you. I would love that one day you can come to Miami, Florida to meet you.

I love those 4 examples of who Jesus appeared to after his resurrection...they were people he loved, pure and simple....he loved them.
You must never stop making these videos. Ever. Soooo good.

Grace's letter was absolutely amazing. I also loved the idea of "counting the fish."
You both are a great blessing to me! I tell everyone to watch and where they can find you. May God bless and keep you and yours.😊
According to James Talmadge, there is no reason to believe Mary had a questionable past. Check it out in Jesus the Christ.
Which appearance of Jesus to Mary took place first, the one in John 20:11-17, or the appearance in Matthew 28:9-10?
I’m new here..... what book is that? The one you are giving away? Thanks!
I’m wondering about the book as well.
“The Peter Potential “ by Emily Belle Freeman and David Butler.
Hugs from Canada! You both are awesome!
Wish i can get one of that book 😘

Which book are they giving away?
@@cynthiafish2180 It is in the video.

I love the part where Jesus talks about John tarrying until Jesus returns. It seems all of Christianity misses that point, except JS.

Can you guys please add captions to your show to give access to the deaf and hard of hearing? Thanks :)

It is in come follow me end of the section the savior invites me to feed his sheep. “The first great commandment.” Ensign Nov 2012
