    Aayla Secura has always struck me as an interesting character. Having survived the Arena on Geonosis and the subsequent battle at a young age, and soon after becoming a Jedi Master. She showed much promise.

    I strongly stand by the idea that any Jedi that survived the Geonosis Arena battle must have been very proficient in either Shien or Soresu, so I think that backs up your assessment of Secura despite her not being credited with Shien. There's also the fact that she survived until the end of the Clone Wars as a front line combatant, and that her clone troopers chose to wait for her to be distracted before shooting her in the back. Both of these implied to me, without being very familiar with many of her legends feats, that she had a fair amount of skill with either Shien or Soresu.

    Absolutely outstanding VS video Matt. I love both characters featured and I especially loved your editing and music choices. For me, black or blank space is a waste of space and a waste of visually enticing your viewers. This video is the perfect example of using the entire space that's given to the editor extremely well. I love seeing the evolution of VS videos and how they change over time especially in post. Well done sir, it was an exceptionally well made and entertaining video.

    Well done, I doubt you recognize my account but I am among those who constantly requested that you use Dass Jennir, and I must say that you did him justice. Truth be told I have never considered Aayla and Dass to have any kind of parity, but your excellent work has convinced me that the gap between them isn't so large. It's always a treat to watch your videos and I appreciate the effort you put towards them.

      Yeah, I actually grew more impressed the more I researched her. Hadn't read some of the comics she features in, in a long while. While I think she's solidly above Dass Jennir, I don't consider her powerful enough to completely blow him out of the water. Hope I managed to do him justice without undercutting Aayla too much.

  • @DarthWill3
    @DarthWill3 7 лет назад +4

    While I had no doubt as to who would win this match-up, it was very interesting to hear the complexity of Dass Jennir as a character and a Jedi Master. Another job well done!
    A few things I feel I should point out, though:
    1. Aayla also practiced Jar'Kai, as seen in the Dark Horse Extra, _Heart of Fire,_ and the original _Battlefront II_ game. She could even outmatch a trained soldier like Commander Bly in unarmed combat in _Reversal of Fortune._
    2. Aayla _did_ fight Asajj Ventress once in _The Clone Wars: Republic Heroes_ (in case you haven't played or watched the game). However, accompanying her was Luminara Unduli, who had firsthand experience of Ventress. It's near impossible to suggest that Aayla could've held her own against Darth Tyranus' protege.
    3. The biggest irony is that for all her skill and power, Aayla couldn't escape the Great Jedi Purge; Dass Jenner, the weaker Jedi, survived.
    Meanwhile, the Force stealth/cloak ability section gives an indication of Sora Bulq's grossly overlooked Force senses. He could barely detect a hidden Aayla and Tholme, who were right in his midst. Should prove useful in a future video.

    • @GreyJedi91
      @GreyJedi91  7 лет назад +3

      Glad you enjoyed!
      1. I admit that I don't consider her fighting style in Battlefront II relevant. Just seemed like a game mechanic/gimmick to make her hero character play a little differently than the others. And it doesn't jive with many other sources. However if it appeared in another source from Dark Horse then that's worth considering. Good to know.
      2. Definitely WAS considering Legends over canon in this as I don't really know much about her at all in canon. I definitely didn't play that game. I knew the confrontation happened and that she had help from Luminara...but that's really it. I will say though that I agree with you, I certainly don't think she could take Asajj...but a proper fight with Asajj vs. Aayla might have allowed us to see what Aayla's actual weaknesses as a duelist were first hand.
      3. Yes...but this is not an uncommon occurrence. Several "average" Jedi survived the purge whereas the real power in the Order was most killed off almost immediately...with a few exceptions of course.
      Where Bulq's concerned...I'm more inclined to view those feats as very STRONG for Aayla and Tholme rather than really weak for Bulq. He did ALMOST sense Aayla. I guess I just think it's more that she's really good in that regard rather than he's really bad.

    48:08 This applies perfectly to Cal Kestis from Jedi Fallen Order. Another Disney character (like Kanan Jarrus) with a similar background to Jennir. Cal was just a middling Padawan who didn't touch a saber in 5 years, yet he patched together the first 4 forms into his own interpretation of Niman.

      The only one who consistently used Revan was Antoine, and Jensaarai covered both Traya and Thanaton, but I agree, so many underrated characters that could be used. Serra Keto, Micah Gyatt, Sian Jeisel, Yaddle (if she can be used), Cin Drallig, Agen Kolar, A'Sharad Hett (Clone Wars Era), Desann, Sariss, Cilghal, Leia Organa Solo (still baffles me to this day why no one used Leia yet), Anakin Solo, Tahiri Veila, Kam Solusar, Marasiah Fel, Shado Vao, Darth Jadus, Darth Marr, Darth Bandon, Vaylin. The list could go on and on

    A great video overall.
    I'm not sure if Aayla would have to divide her attention between Ataru and Djem So. I'm not saying she meshed the two the way Anakin Skywalker did, but it's likely she did try to incorporate Ataru's footwork into Djem So.

  • @notthedroidsyourelookingfo4026

    How is it that Ataru is said to be a bad option against multiple opponents? Ven Zallow comes to mind as a kind of poster boy practitioner, and he shows it to be highly effective on the battlefield, even against multiple enemy force users.
    I mean, due to the mobility granted by the form's acrobatic movements, I think the user should be able to face his/her opponents one by one, so even if the form is weak against multiple opponents, that doesn't ever have to come to play.
    Of course, exhaustion might settle in after a while, and then a fallback option is necessary, but that's how Ataru is supposed to be used anyway, right? Please explain.

    • @GreyJedi91
      @GreyJedi91  6 лет назад +10

      Yoda is quoted saying that only a true master of Ataru will persevere when faced with multiple opponents. This has been demonstrated to be true by the likes of Ven Zallow and Shaak Ti (though in both cases these Jedi were clearly superior in an overall sense to the many they were up against). Ataru is clearly not universally weak in that context. One thing all those masters made great use of though was defensively oriented acrobatic evasion. At it's root, Ataru is primarily offensive and was designed with the idea being that one would use the form to overwhelm the defenses of their opponent. And this amounts to a costly (if sustained for a prolonged period of time) effort and drains on one's Force reserves. As far as stamina and endurance runs are concerned, Ataru is an unforgiving style and if you waste your efforts using the form to evade one opponent, it hampers your ability to muster your energies to strike against the other(s). That's my understanding of the form's potential weakness when used in the context where one is outnumbered. This can be compensated for though, so it's less an absolute weakness, and more a calculated risk when used against multiple opponents of comparable power and skill. Honestly, I'd say most of the stated drawbacks of the various forms amount more to guidelines and general tendencies than absolute truths.

      IMO Kanan beats Jennir, he has a better grasp on Soresu, Ataru and Shien. In some ways, Jennir's style is somewhere in between Kanan's and Ezra's (who's more comparable to him).

    I was always confused was Aalya ever a Jar'kai user? In the game Battlefront 2 (2005) she was.

    • @GreyJedi91
      @GreyJedi91  7 лет назад +2

      In the odd minor source here and there she's credited with it. But I admit I didn't know about one of those sources until a few hours ago when a viewer told me about it. Still though I don't consider it a staple of her technique since she so rarely used it. As for Battlefront II, I would consider that merely a gameplay mechanic. That's the only source I'm aware of where she uses Jar'kai exclusively or even extensively.

    Yea, didn’t have to deal with it because SHE couldn’t escape it like Dass did. She didn’t have the survival skills he did; the combat skills sure, even better for the most part, but Dass Jennir was one of those few Jedi that also had something else on his side-luck.... But all in all, I’d probably still go with Ayla as well. Great breakdown of the both of them though.

  • @GAdmThrawn
    @GAdmThrawn 7 лет назад +1

    8:37 Interesting. I never knew that, but it does make sense as there are Twi'lek Jedi within every era. Where was that passage from? "Contrary to paranoia spread by the Empire, the people of Ryloth are not at all war-like" Well, that's certainly changed thanks to Dave Filoni. "They prefer cunning and slyness over physical confrontation." Huh, interesting. And I remember reading that final paragraph from Kevin J. Anderson's _The_ _Jedi_ _Academy_ Trilogy.
    12:49 "Not a mark of old age" Or of Elvish heritage. Lol
    "It is a mystery of how one so young attained the rank of Master." That has been quite a mystery for Aayla and Dass. There hasn't been anything to say *how* they managed to reach that rank. No books, comics, nothing. 14:04 Ohhhhh, what source was that in? _The_ _Jedi_ _Path_ ?
    27:41 You really think that's a Force choke? I've always thought that was using either a Mind Probe or an aggressive use of the Mind Trick to compel Senator Sai'Malloc to give her the information. Especially considering that their conversation was about Aayla reading the senator's mind and knew that she was lying.
    35:00 LOL I was wondering when you were going to use footage from TCW. I know that you're not a fan of that show, but you can't deny that they kept her physical prowess.
    Her potential *was* great. I just wished that she didn't die from Order 66. But I'm glad that we got the stories that we did that brought her to that destination. Would you ever consider her to be part of a future Jedi Council? Or is she more like Qui-Gon Jinn and continued to be proactive in the galaxy? (I think I'll start posting this question to the other VS series makers or when you guys do the next podcast.)

    • @GreyJedi91
      @GreyJedi91  7 лет назад

      8:37 The picture of the NJO comes from Essential Guide to the Force. The passage itself comes from The New Essential Guide to Alien Species. As you note late in the comment I'm no fan of TCW...nor the new canon in general for that matter. I don't wish to get into a canon vs legends debate or anything but I have generally given up on trying to rectify changes between what happened in TCW and what was established about the galaxy in the sources I grew up with.
      12:49 Good one ;)
      14:04 is indeed taken from The Jedi Path. I forget which page but it's from the segment detailing the role of a Jedi Master and how one attains this position.
      27:41 yeah...I'm pretty damn sure. If Aayla was already reading her mind for the info why's she forcing her to tell her the answer? I don't doubt that Aayla is CAPABLE of an aggressive Mind Probe. But I don't think that's what she was doing here. If you notice she was actually using logic to prove the Senator was lying. Not just her Jedi senses. Also the senator goes “AAAK!” and has her mouth open and her hand raised. Looks like someone who's being choked to me. Hope this doesn't come off the wrong way. I've just always thought that's clearly what it was.
      35:00 I didn't actively avoid using TCW clips or info...but to be honest I'm not sure how heavily featured she even was there. I literally just searched RUclips to see if there were any clips of her fighting that I forgot about and I thought that clip was badass. I'm not a fan of TCW by any means but I don't hate EVERY tiny thing about it :)
      Interesting question there...would she be on the Council or be more like Qui-gon. Well, Tholme and Quin were always a bit like Qui-gon. They did their own thing, but heeded the Council's mandate at the same time. The thing is Qui-gon was actively kept at arm's reach by the Council because of his hardheadedness. I think Aayla would have the same willful, yet compassionate spirit that Qui-gon had, but I see no reason why she would butt heads with the Council quite as often as he did. I DO think she would have been a very likely candidate to join the High Council if Palpatine's conniving ass hadn't come along.

    In defence of jennir; I think you undersell the principle of Shi Cho. Being proficient in 2&5 (precision and counter attack) is the mark of any great duelist. Add form 1 as keeping it simple, while able to deal with a wild attack from secura, a form 4 stylist,much like how kit fisto dealt with grievous , and djems so's strength attacks would be lost against the 360 foot work needed for 1 and 5. Keeping it precise as well would keep her pressured, which jennir does in most of his fights.

      I am considering using Saba but I've not committed to a project with her. As or Forcecast episodes, I'm not exactly show when their coming. But I can assure you that they are. Reti4 is revamping how they're released an on which channel. We did see Aayla Secura and Luminara Unduli fight Ventress but they fended her off easily and Luminara on her own went blow for blow with Ventress before overextending on the platform so adding in Aayla made the fight lopsided but seeing how Ventress has put up a fight to Anakin and Obi Wan Luminara and Aayla's ability to fend her off like they did is still impressive and needs to be referenced in my view.

    Amazing work, friend. I've always put Secura on par with somebody like Luminara Unduli--not quite a top tier Knight like Kota, Vos or Swan, but still combatively viable. But after watching this, I may well put her up a bit.
    Also, what's the status on Aryn Leneer V. Senya Tirall? And if that's on the backburner, what are our chances of seeing Plo V. Jerec?

    • @GreyJedi91
      @GreyJedi91  7 лет назад +1

      For the record I DEFINITELY think that Luminara and Aayla are both at LEAST on Swan's level. It's not that I doubt Swan's abilities. It's just that I don't see anything she's done to place her beyond them. Kota is an interesting case and I'm not entirely sure what I think of him on the whole.
      I have not forgotten Aryn vs Senya. But it's not something I've devoted any time yet. I have at LEAST 8 other projects (5 of which are vs. videos) that I'm working on actively. So if I DO commit to doing that one it won't be for a while. As for Plo Koon vs. Jerec, I suggest asking someone else...maybe Evan Nova or Jensaarai if you want to see it any time soon. I actually think that's a pretty interesting one, but I have a different Plo Koon match in the works at the moment. Glad you enjoyed. Thanks for tuning in and for commenting!

      Luminara's performance against even an early Clone Wars Ventress in TCW puts her above most of those you mentioned.

    • @GreyJedi91
      @GreyJedi91  7 лет назад +1

      Well he only mentioned Swan, Kota and Vos. Swan's the most questionable addition to that list given her lack of observable feats...but that's it really. Even so, that's not proof she's low level. It makes more of an unknown than anything else.. Otherwise I'd say the others are more or less in Unduli's league with various advantages to be awarded in each case. She's most certainly the superior defensive fighter on this list, but how she'd stack up against the others on this list in all other regards is debatable. Not that I doubt her really. I just don't agree that she's so clearly beyond all of them. Not by any means really.

    • @williamhenning4700
      @williamhenning4700 7 лет назад

      GreyJedi91 Was referring mostly to Swan and Kota though Kota's performance against an early game Marek probably does allow him to hold his own against Luminara so fair enough.

    • @alexalexalex92
      @alexalexalex92 7 лет назад +1

      I'm honestly rather surprised y'all are lending that much credence to Luminara...she's talented, I don't deny that, but at least for me the Ventress fight was a matter of her being pretty severely outclassed. Maybe it's just a matter of how I view the fight, but somebody on the level you put Secura should be at least able to hold out for a while longer, and certainly not fall for the pipe-steam trope. I get why she's highly esteemed, don't get me wrong, but I also don't get why people tend to put her so close to Council-level combatants. I'll hold off on defending Swan, but I do feel like there's a certain uppermost echelon of Knights--again Kota, and I also put people like K'Krukh, Sha Koon and Rebels Ahsoka on this level as well as Swan--who operate at a higher combative level than many low-level, academic Jedi masters, for which I count Luminara. This is largely feat-based and though we'd all be bored if I listed them all, there's ample evidence for many being able to perform at a higher level than Luminara's ever shown.

  • @matthewhenthorn3343
    @matthewhenthorn3343 7 лет назад +1

    i agree with the verdict but i have a quibble about a comment you made about Aayla's fighting style.
    i wouldn't think the low mobility of Djem-so would be that much of an issue to an Ataru specialist. true form 4 can't generate as much power as the more grounded form 5, but being grounded doesn't necessary mean flat footed and the poise and agility of Ataru would still allow for heavy blows. indeed having limited mobility could affect a person's ability to counter effectively.
    this won't change the contest that much but it does imply that those 2 forms are a good balance and not as incongruous as one might think.

    • @GreyJedi91
      @GreyJedi91  7 лет назад +1

      Matthew Henthorn fair enough. I'm saying she can only really hope to use one or the other at any given time. Not that the combination of forms isn't worthy. Both apply well in the context of a duel. If Jennir was as skilled with his forms as she was with hers, I'd say his style would give him an advantage. As it is I agree she's mastered her own disciplines to the point she's limited the impact of the 2 forms' incompatibility.

      Aayla is more springy and hybridized Form V with Ataru, while Plo is a Form V purist for the most part who keep acrobatics and unarmed combat more supplementary, relying instead on his Force powers to end conflicts. They share similar forms, but the way they apply them are VASTLY different. And Plo is much more powerful.
      TL;DR : This is a mismatch and their similarities are only skin-deep.

      GreyJedi91 your voice is awesome. You should do more vids when you got the free time. Also I did watch zannah Vs oppo and maleval Vs ronhar Kim? Sorry if I got their names wrong I never heard of them till you came out with that vid. Do a versus vid involving Mace Windu, hardly anybody uses him.

    • @GreyJedi91
      @GreyJedi91  7 лет назад

      You did get their names right actually. And no worries. I just think its funny. I often have the impression people think I'm dead or something and can't believe it when I upload again...even though I've probably been more active in the last year and half or so than I've ever been. Concerning Windu, I'm tossing around an idea for him but if I do it it'll be a while from now. I did feature him in a team battle years ago. It's a video that's hard for me to look back on because I didn't make it very well compared to my newer material, but it still has my view of Windu in it. Is there anybody in particular you want to see him against? I'd like to revisit the character some time, but not that many characters are good competition for him...at least on the merit of dueling ability.

    • @Soriichi
      @Soriichi 7 лет назад

      GreyJedi91 you know Antoine did a dooku Vs Windu vid but it was rather short, when concerning versus vids of course haha, it was like 20 mins or something. Imaging a cool and composed flyod Mayweather type fencer Vs a channeled focused enraged onslaught. Mace and Dooku are like polar opposites but their demeanor's are quite similar. Windu as well is cool and composed while he fights but his style doesn't reflect that. While Dooku's style does. Imo it's one of the better sword duels. Also Kyle Katarn Vs Mace Windu is another option, I think would be really awesome, if you wanna step out the stereotypical battle between mace and dooku.

      Read it for the first time or reread it? If you haven't read it before I feel like giving you a slight warning...it's a very slow-burn of a series. It drags on and takes its time. I do kind of like that aspect of it because it allows for strong character development as the action definitely takes a back seat. But at the same time, I'm not sure I can honestly say that the series really goes anywhere in the end. It's full of interesting ideas and characters, but it's not essential reading and doesn't impact the timeline as a whole with the sole exception of the Vector crossover series. In any case if you still feel like reading it after what I told you, then it's probably well worth your time. I just wanted you to know what you're getting into.

    Hey everyone I've been subscribed to this channel for a while now as well as Antoine, evannova and jensaari and I've always wanted to get into the expanded universe could anyone give me any suggestions on where to start? Comic books or novels or anything idc I just want to try and get into it, I've played some video games like KOTOR 1&2 and Jedi academy both of which I loved, but I wondered if there were any novels or comics set around that time period? Preferably after ROTJ or during the madalorian wars.

    • @GreyJedi91
      @GreyJedi91  7 лет назад

      Well, you can read the KotOR comics...I'd recommend both series. One precedes the games by about 40 years and is about the war with Exar Kun and Ulic Qel-Droma. One is about the Mandalorian Wars and the adventures of the fugitive Padawan Zayne Carrick and takes place during Revan and Malak's fight against the Mandalorian invaders. With Jedi Academy, there are a few other games in the Jedi Knight series (though they are dated) and they deal in Kyle Katarn's adventures. Though those go back to the Dark Forces games as well which you can find on Steam for a cheap price. Those are even more dated though. The story is largely outlined in a couple of novellas if you don't want to play the old games. Also there are the Jedi Academy novels which are their own trilogy.

    • @lordliam9840
      @lordliam9840 7 лет назад

      GreyJedi91 GreyJedi91 I do own the dark forces and Jedi knight games as I brought them during the steam summer sale but have never gotten around the panting them and great thank you for the suggestions:) going through the games you here about exar Kun and the mandalorian wars but they're not explained in detail which is another reason why I had asked, in definitely going to try and check those out thanks for the advice man. :)

    • @GreyJedi91
      @GreyJedi91  7 лет назад

      I would recommend reading the KotOR comics first then. At least the ones that deal with the Sith Wars against Exar Kun. The ones with Zayne Carrick are both their own unique story as well as background information on the KotOR game series, whereas the Sith Wars detail Exar Kun's turn to the Dark Side 40 years earlier. And the thing is, the Jedi Academy trilogy of novels deals with Exar Kun's Sith Spirit returning to cause problems when Luke was beginning to restart the Jedi Order. Technically, the Jedi Academy trilogy began being published before the KotOR comics, but I think it flows better if you already know exactly who Exar Kun was and how he became a Sith Spirit trapped on Yavin IV before you read the end of that story.

      Whoa there! Don't get your hopes up ;)
      In all seriousness though, there's some evidence that they technically CAN...or at least COULD in the past. Leland Chee once used this idea to float out a possible fix for an inconsistency in artwork. If you notice Twi'lek males have human-like ears whereas females USUALLY have cone-shaped ears. In some artwork though, Twi'lek females are depicted with human shaped ears and so were explained away as hybrids in an issue of Star Wars Insider many years ago by Leland Chee. I wouldn't take this as definitive proof that they can...but it's possible I suppose.

      Haha yeah, to be honest Venamis was just a placeholder. I'm sure I could think of a better matchup, but I think Kerra deserves some attention. She's a solid character in spite of the whole "last Jedi" theme being done several times.

    Eh, Dass being a Shii-Cho practicioner makes little sense, if he have such a fragile connection to the force why focus on a form that extensively rely on it.

    • @GreyJedi91
      @GreyJedi91  7 лет назад +1

      I can see why you questioned this, but I feel strongly that it makes a great deal of sense. His weakness in the Force is relative. He's still perfectly capable of drawing upon the Force. I mean...he is a Jedi Master after all. He's just got no capacity for pulling off extreme Force feats. Shii-cho was (in my opinion, though I think even Kreia implied this during her description of the form in KotOR II) the most generally applicable form aside from Niman. It was always seen as a decent fallback option. It was also the only form which all Jedi of every era were known to have at least some training in specifically because it helped them learn to allow the Force to guide their actions in combat which every Jedi of any level of strength in the Force *MUST* be able to do on some level.
      So it goes without saying he knew it. Whether he specialized in it is debatable but it's all that makes sense to me given his strengths match up with it (the Form's viable against multiple opponents and as well as for blast deflection, though it's less specialized for blaster-wielding opponents than either Soresu or Shien in the long run) whereas his weaknesses (not so viable in lightsaber duels) also match up with the Form. Familiarity with Makashi and Shien help round this out by making up for the areas in which Shii-cho is either weak or average. Don't forget that ALL lightsaber forms require one to draw upon the Force. It's only that a Shii-cho master relies on being able to surrender nearly completely to the Force to make their attack patterns more randomized. Again to clarify, I consider him a Shii-cho user. Not a Shii-cho master.

    Corran Horn vs Count Dooku. Could a Jedi incapable of telekinesis defeat a telekinetic savant?

    • @williamhenning4700
      @williamhenning4700 7 лет назад

      drksideofthewal That's two separate questions but no, Corran couldn't beat Dooku for a majority.

    • @drksideofthewal
      @drksideofthewal 7 лет назад

      No, it's not two separate questions. Dooku is a telekinetic savant, as revealed in the New Essential Guide to The Force, despite ironically struggling with it as a child.
      If that's true, I'd still like to see the breakdown of their abilities.

    • @williamhenning4700
      @williamhenning4700 7 лет назад

      drksideofthewal I'm aware. I'm simply saying that in some scenarios the savant will triumph and in others the Force user incapable of telekinesis might depending on the characters pitted against each other who meet the prerequisites to be considered for those titles.

    +GreyJedi91 Another good video my good fellow. Would love to see you tackle more of the obscure Star Wars characters again in the future like Inquistors Tremayne and Draco as well as Ferus Olin, Shado Vao, and Kento Marek in the future. Not to mention I cannot wait until the day I see you or one of the other council masters cover Darth Krayt vs. Exar Kun.
    If you want to help out with some of the things happening in the Star Wars fandom the Twin Suns Foundation is working with the 501st Legion on the Hyper Reads event to donate Star Wars books to a children's hospital in Orange County, California; you can find out more at www.twin-suns.net/donate . Maybe you could address this in a video or the next time we see another Council ForceCast. MTFBWY.

    Dass Jennir retconned into Kanan Jarrus ?

    • @GreyJedi91
      @GreyJedi91  7 лет назад +2

      Dunno if I'd describe it in such simple terms...I don't actively watch Rebels at all. But from what I can tell, I'd say Dass Jennir's role has always been more cursory than Kanan's has become...and the nature of his story isn't similar to Kanan's in anyway save that they're both seemingly average Jedi (at least to start off with) who survived the Purge. Kanan is still learning what it is to be a Jedi and attempting to pass that on and has also busted out some impressive displays of ability at the 11th hour...whereas Jennir is a fully formed Jedi unsure of his place in the galaxy and forced to cope with the limitations bound to him by his modest strength in the Force and doesn't really have any ambition to bring down the Empire. It's important to remember that Jennir's story takes place when the Dark Times are just beginning. There really isn't a Rebel Alliance yet. Even in the context of the Legends Timeline the Alliance wasn't relevant yet. I don't really see any active attempt to supplant Jennir with Jarrus, but I can see the loose comparison between them. Still though, I'm not that invested in the canon really. So I may not know what I'm talking about here.

      GreyJedi91 Just curious to know what did u think of the Ben Kenobi vs Maul fight in Rebels? Did the outcome of the fight make sense to you as a fan?

      Yeh Kanan is more comparable to Rahm Kota and Kyle Katarn

    • @GreyJedi91
      @GreyJedi91  7 лет назад +2

      Gotta say man..ANYTHING with Maul being alive after TPM bothers me. Not to be a wet blanket on all things canon. But it just rubs me the wrong way and I have zero interest as a fan. In a more objective sense...simply as a viewer...I thought it was a pretty cool bit of choreography. I don't know enough about the mind of the character in that moment though to know if he was even fighting at his peak. I literally just watched the fight. I didn't watch the episode in its entirety. I don't even know how he found Kenobi. So my analysis wouldn't really amount to much.

    Orra sing vs Ventess

    • @CompositeCreativity
      @CompositeCreativity 3 года назад +1

      Ventress easily takes that victory. Aurra Sing suffers from the same problem as Komari Vosa in that her Jedi training was incomplete prior to her fall and wouldn’t really amount to much against better opponents.
      Ventress started off getting a good amount of training from Ky Narec and then her skills were further refined under Dooku’s tutelage. I really don’t see how Aurra Sing can compete with that, and I highly doubt her other weapons would make a difference either.
