I have discovered this late in the game, but this was magnificent. Your commentary at the end give the perfect explanation of what the Disney SW has lost, and what Lucas seemed to forget: these are stories about people with feelings, goals, hopes and dreams. I only with you could do more...
Some damn Sith Assassin is force cloaked in a corner force crushing onions. Beautifully told story. A reminder of why we SHOULD NOT forget the "Legends Continuity" It MUST NOT be forgotten. There is no Ignorance, There is Knowledge.
Disney is a lie, there is only Legends Through Legends I gain lore Through lore I gain fandom Through fandom I gain joy Through joy my chains are broken
I am actually at a loss for words with your work. You are literally what I envision as a great storyteller and I aspire to have such incredible narrative skills like you.
This. This is why we consider you the "Grandmaster" of our little Council my friend. As ever, this was the perfect blend of stirring passion and keen intellect, wrapped up in a wonderfully presented package. 'Had to be you. Someone else might've gotten it wrong.
Well damn. That was excellent; great editing, writing, and of course voice work. This only makes it further evident how painfully tragic A'Sharad's fall to the dark side really was. I really hope the new canon steps its game up soon, nothing has even come close to the sort of mythos the EU had created. I can't help but to be a bit scared for the future of SW storytelling. A fantastic tribute, looking forward to more of your storytelling in the future
+SciFi Soup Thanks man! And good luck with your channel. Fantastic work on your end so far. Keep an eye out for Sharad's Versus entry...I have a feeling you'll enjoy it...
GreyJedi91 Thank you dude, much appreciated! I had my suspicions that Sharad would be making a versus appearance, I of course will be looking forward to it!
Wow what a fantastic profile of Sharad Hett, that truly was beautiful to listen to and watch. I enjoyed every minute of it and despite Outlander being one of my favourite stories, I have not read it in over 10 years and completely forgot all about Sharad's struggle on tatooine before being accepted by the Tusken Raiders. I must find a copy of Outlander and read it again. Thank you for such an in depth account of one of star wars' many obscure but legendary characters. I look forward to seeing Sharad Hett in a versus video. :-)
Masterful Indeed... You've just taken these bio clips through a beautiful evolution. The narration & accompanying musical composition, Absolutely next level. ☆☆☆☆☆ Thank you.
"impressive...most impressive", this was great man i loved it Evan Nova and you have a great idea putting little known characters in there own little bios Thanks also thanks for the new age music, with the calm voice you have it feels like relaxing narration.
I have watched this so many times, and will keep doing so, simply because I just cannot immerse myself enough in this loveable story, told by a voice that ensnares the listener and compells to listen to the magic of your eloquent and atmospheric storytelling. I hope that should Disney ever make a decent movie in this Universe, that they employ you as its narrator. You have a gift. Please keep using it ! Greetings from Germany from a true fan. I salute you !
You are a fantastic story teller. This is probably my favorite Star Wars story manly because of the way that you told and presented it. Great job and keep them coming please
You have the voice of a professional storyteller , an intriguing voice that draws the unwary ever deeper under your control like the Pied piper of Hamlin, and though I have never followed anyone before, you now have a follower more. I salute you. May you tell us many many more stories, and may the force be with you !
As excellent as always! Phenomenal voice-over and editing and a fantastic character analysis. That was....... phenomenal...... This entire video sums up what I love about the EU. It had such complex characters and riveting story lines that can never be replicated in this new canon. Well done Matt, thank you for sharing your love and passion for the Star Wars mythos and it's most obscure characters.
As negative as this sounds, A'sharad technically lost a third family when Obi-wan caused him to be exiled from his new tribe in the dark times That was brilliant!! Can't wait to get a versus with this characters
Love the hett story how it’s such a big part of the skywalker legacy and how it brought out amazing characters like Cade skywalker, Darth talon, all the other one siths, Delilah blue and Cade’s other friends and gives eeth koth some glory and ki adi mundi even aura siing and the hutts
Best video to date - it's clear your hard work is paying off - editing / music choice / story telling / narration - absolutely superb it's impressive to see the progress and evolution in your videos - gained a new subscriber here. Thank you this is excellent bravo.
What a well put together video, I enjoyed your approach to the character, and the subject matter. You have a very calming and sure voice. Excellent, hope to see more like this. **Cough** Darth Bane.
The videos take long, but they are EXCELENT. Some real tears had been shed here, my friend. The wondrous works which can be drawn from the universe of SW continues to amaze me. It is of a particular greatness and great significance to me, as a man and a human being. It encapsules most of my conflicts and reminds me of the good care of my father. I thank you for being part of it. For bringing this unto us. Thank you. Your work is magnificent.
You know, the character profiles on this site have never really interested me. Until this one came along. This profile is the profile that all others should aspire to be like, a love letter to a character. Well done Sir, well done.
GreyJedi91 thank you. The video was beautiful in every sense of the word. Thank you for doing such a great job with Sharad Hett and Darth Krayt. Krayt is one of my favorite characters in the old EU and I am so happy you did the story of his father and showing why Krayt fell to the dark side. In my opinion Krayt was a good person, but he was broken as much as a person can be broken. Thank you for pointing that out, this was a great video.
plus, it was Obi-Wan sticking his nose in when asharad hett was fighting for his people, and had to cut his arm off and exiled him after he forcibly peeled hett's mask off.
+Darrel Smith True, but not necessarily that simple. Hett was planning to make war with the Empire during that time of his life and Obi-wan was concerned he would lose himself in the process. Also, the sandpeople under A'sharad's command were beginning to encroach upon the territory where Luke was being hidden. Obi-wan didn't interfere without reason.
+GreyJedi91 Well Hett was, for lack of a better word, bad shit crazy when he was making that army of Sand People and getting beat sobered him up a bit. But someone made a comment that this is 2 Lords of The Sith Obi Wan let loos upon the galaxy. Its funny, but a little bit true. I have to ask, of topic I know, but why do you not like Kylo Ren? I am curious and, sorry, but I did not understand your reasons.
+Darrel Smith I love Krayt, but, to be fair, Krayt was crazy as fuck while he was making that army and Obi Wan had his reasons. It was not just him getting beat by Obi Wan that made Krayt embrace the Dark Side, it was one of the reasons.
GreyJedi91 yeah, Obi-Wan didn't want luke to get killed. I understand his reasons. But I guess we all know what happen to Ashard when he met Xoxaan and the Yuuzhan vong.
This is the first time I am subscribing on your channel, but I just want to say, that I REALLY loved this video. You tell the story in such an excellent manner, and your voice really enforces it. The points and ethic questions you bring up, really sets your videos apart from others. It's great to have you back, even for a little, I really missed you (ironic, considering that I saw your Revan review earlier today. excellent job. Just subscribed to your channel. Very carefully made, you have deep knowledge and are one of the best narrators, SW youtubers. Carry in friend
+GreyJedi91/Matt Chatman (whatever name you prefer) you are absolutely brilliant. Sharad Hett never really intrigued me as a character which is odd considering his son is one of my favorite Sith Lords. But your narration, brings him to life makes me reconsider my thoughts on the character your narrations crafts his story into a masterpiece. Your voice, choice of words and music is brilliant. You take one character and show just how vast the lore and connected, Star Wars EU really is and one of the main reasons why I am huge fan of the EU. I know everyone says these kind of statements, but it needs to be stated. I always look forward to your future work. Also for a match, Nomi Sunrider vs Darth Sion? I know Sion cant be killed, but what if you use Sever Force on him? He is a corpse held together by the force, without it he kinda falls apart.
if I can give a video reaction to this video, you'd see tears rolling down my face, followed by a one man standing ovation. Kudos, sir ...kudos! 👏 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 👍😎

+GreyJedi91 thank you so much for telling this amazing tale. This one gave me chills and the many different factors on Tatooine and the Hutts that I never thought of before. And it is great to know that even if a Jedi left the order it was not because of an influence of the Dark Side but someone more. This was indeed a master piece and I hope to see more soon my friend. Sharad Hett was the hero that Anakin would have done well to emulate and perhaps the life he had dreamed of could have been his.
very nicely done, im a huge starwars fan especially off the eu more now since the new disney movie. but one thing at the end someone to fight fof someone to protect. reminds me of inuyasha and his older brother sesshomaru.
This video is art. I watch it some times when I feel down. Always cheers me up. Thank you.

+GreyJedi91 Do you believe that there are others who need someone to fight for
GreyJedi91 that was beautiful man
I have to say, Sharad Hett died with honour, even if it was to a hounourless bounty hunter. Also, nice use of the BSG soundtrack. Very fitting
Does anyone know the outro music please? (@45.40)
Hett's son is one of my favorite sith lords in history. I'm excited to see his dad in the upcoming battle and i'm glad you did a profile for him
all hail the eu screw the new Canon and disney plus Lucas arts for betraying us
plus I don't hateall the Canon novels
+chunky karma maybe maybe not
+chunky karma I don't think they will make most legends material Canon again 😭
+chunky karma they wont only some good stuff it gave them money to start over

I especially liked the way you used the screenshot of Aurra Sing for the words "among other things." Helps foreshadow Sharad Hett's fate.
