  • Newtown Linford is a village in the Charnwood Forest area of Leicestershire, to the North West of Leicester. The church is adjacent to Bradgate Park, a popular tourist spot and location of the home of Lady Jane Grey, the nine day queen who claimed the throne of England and Ireland from 10 to 19 July 1553.
The church dates from the 15th century and consists of a west tower with small recessed spire, nave, north aisle, north trancept, south porch, chancel, organ chamber and vestry. The north trancept dates from late in the 15th century and is separated from the nave by an arch. The north aisle and chancel were built by Roberts & Simpson in 1894-95. The vestry and organ chamber were added in 1915.
The ringing room is on the ground floor. There are six bells, the tenor weighing 7-3-20cwt. More details about the bells can be found here: dove.cccbr.org...
    A note on the ringing:
The ringing was recorded during a Leicester District practice in 2022, and the method being rung is Cambridge Surprise Minor.
