  • Higham on the Hill is about three miles away from both Hinckley and Nuneaton. The parish (and the boundary between the East and West Midlands) is bounded by Warwickshire and the A5 to the south-west. The oldest remaining part of the church, the tower, was built between 1130 and 1180, though there was probably a Saxon church here before. The rest of the Norman church was demolished and replaced in 1791 by the current nave and that was further extended in 1854 with the south aisle. A 360 degreee view of the inside of the church can be found here: www.nationalch...
The ringing room is accessed via the rear of the organ. A steep wooden staircase leads to the ringing room, accessed through a trap door. There are 6 bells in the tower, the tenor weighing 10-3-8 cwt. More details about the bells can be found here: dove.cccbr.org...
    A note on the ringing:
The method being rung is Cambridge Surprise Minor, and was recorded at a Hinckley District meeting in November 2023.
