I always look forward to your list videos! I can't believe I actually have most of these already because of your previous lists... smh Stay Awesome, Jordan!
great and colossal video bravo! PS. when I read "FARMAGIA" as an Italian I thought "farmacìa" (= pharmacy) pronounced in an overly effeminate way and it made me laugh too honestly
Finally, essentially a guide to dramatically increase my Physical collection. I went from 600 down to 150, now climbing back up to 200. I had some tough choices to make and decided my sealed physical collection could support hard times when i needed it. I took all my games to retro video game stores. Only giving me 30% of its value. Thats thousands of dollars lost. Oh well. Back to collecting again. So what games do i need to add back to my collection? 😂
I like it much better than 4! I think it’s just more charming and its adventurous spirit reminds me more of lighthearted ps1 RPGs. Plus much deeper systems. 6 still beats it out for me but it’s my second fav of the 2d releases!
Love to hear the positivity about Pokémon and also that it is still a good franchise for young children and for parents to play alongside their kids. The series gets a lot of flack, but I find them to be very enjoyable games and they just keep getting better.
Feels bad that I waited too long on certain publishers/series to get switch copies. VGP doing the lord's work on some reprints at times which is a big help. Might take me a week or two but I will get through this video! Well done!
Awesome video. I buy most multiplatform games on playstation but this is still a very extensive list. Might see if any on here that I don't have are exclusive to switch and pick em up.
@@WorldBurningTime i personally dont remember which developer made which game all the time so i feel like sub genres would have been easier if ever need to refer back to it. Also not everyone is interested in every subgenre so it would make it easier for people to skip genres they have no interest in. I understand the desire to mix things up though and do really really appreciate all the hardwork that went into this.
Trails of series is the best JRPG you can get into. I don't know why people say they don't know how to get into. Just start from the Sky Remame next year and you will love it so much that you will play the others.
They aren't all on one console. They started publishing on Switch halfway thru the overall story arc, making it difficult to get into if you don't own other consoles. I started in the middle, didn't hate it, but I wouldn't call it the best JRPG ever. DQ and Final Fantasy are still my go-to recs for starting JRPGs.
Thanks for this update, Jordan! The Switch is definitely a JRPG-heaven; 336 games (with your fairly strict limitations) is no joke! I'd guess that I have about 50 of these physically on Switch, and perhaps a couple dozen more that I went either digital or PS4 on. I'm currently selling my blood to survive, so I'm falling way behind on games...😂 Edit: Thanks for mentioning the Sega Classics Collection. Probably the best option for playing those games these days, and certainly the most affordable! Edit 2: Yes please to an Azure Dreams remaster!💙
No Level 5 JRPG mentioned? I know, most of them are not avaible in english, but Fantasy Life is coming, and there are some Inazuma Eleven, and Yokai Watch at least in Japan. But great video after all! Thank you Jordan.
Now I want to see Romance Saga salsa, a salsa that tastes different each time you try it. Final Fantasy farming should be Square's next game, a farming sim where you play annoying mini games to grow your crops. 😂
Very great list bossman! I own so many of these games thanks to you of course. There are a few omissions I would have added. Maybe something to add to the google document. 1. Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX. The biggest omission for me. 2. The Princess Guide: a very mid action rpg released by NIS America.
@PhysicalParadise It's an action rpg. Not a very good one but I would consider an rpg. But also not essential. It's one of the few NIS America games that aren't wallet busting after their initial release either 😂
I have been focusing mainly on jrpgs on switch but the library is so big that I can’t collect everything! There is now enough in my backlog to last a lifetime of playing! I have a ps5 too but switch just feels right for most of these titles
Finally, a sensible definition of a JRPG. Fucking tired of lists with nonsense like Astral Chain, Advance Wars, and Metal Slug Tactics. If you can call literally any game an RPG, congratulations, language is no longer fit for purpose.
@TheZestyCar you say that like Platinum Games are famous as an RPG studio. They've made a single game that could be considered an RPG, to my knowledge. Other than that it's wall to wall mindless button mashing character action games like Bayonetta. And Astral Chain is one of them.
I mean any definition is going to upset someone. Not sure why tactics games earned your ire. I haven't played Metal Slug Tactics, but if it's like Fire Emblem there are still plenty of RPG elements involved. Astral Chain is an action RPG. There are enough of them out there that there's a name for the subgenre, action RPGs. They still use leveling and skill customization, which are basic RPG traits. They may not be traditional, turn based RPGs, but then, neither is the latest Final Fantasy.
Every time someone mentions the non existence of Final Fantasy 11, I feel like I’m the only one who sees the Roman numeral in Final Fantasy maXIma. How is this not a thing?
I've asked my mum for Live A Live for Christmas... Does THAT count??? She's kinda accidentally got me the Italian import...Brand new £20 (!) I'm assured that it is fully playable in English... Here's hoping, coz I LOVED the demo!
Thats a nice RPG list but i wish that Cris Tales and Mario + Rabbids were on the list. But it is what it is. Also Persona 5 Strikers (altough it has a level up system) is not really an RPG. Its more of a Hack N Slash.
I've played and own all of Tokyo RPG factory titles, Oninaki is by far the best, followed by Lost Sphear, then I Am Setsuna. It kills me how the FF games are so expensive on Switch ancient games like that really shouldn't be more than £10-15 IMO. I managed to grab FF7/8 for £20 and FF9 for £25 (still too expensive IMO for how old it is) so I'm holding off on grabbing 10\10-2 and 12 for now. I have Silent Hope as well and it's a lot better than it's given credit for, 7-7.5\10 I'd say.

I only buy physical switch games and this channel became my library for searching. Heck, even the video description didn't fail me. Cheers.
You're a maniac for putting this together but you have no idea how much I appreciate this video. Thank you!!!!
You're very welcome!
Unbelievable effort, I hope this gets your channel numbers up after the move from SW.
What a smart, informative, video... this is above & beyond status, very impressive, keep up the great work Jordan it's very much appreciated! 🖖
I always look forward to your list videos! I can't believe I actually have most of these already because of your previous lists... smh
Stay Awesome, Jordan!
Somebody's been a busy boi
Witchspring R is literally one of my favourite JRPGs of all time now that I've given it a chance.
It gives me radiata stories vibes
Best channel to ever exist in the history of RUclips! Period!
Exactly the video I needed! Thank you ❤️
thanks for the extensive list boss!
Incredible list, thanks for putting this together, man! I did notice Pokemon Mystery Dungeon DX was left out, though, so worth noting.
great and colossal video bravo! PS. when I read "FARMAGIA" as an Italian I thought "farmacìa" (= pharmacy) pronounced in an overly effeminate way and it made me laugh too honestly
I am Greek ,same here
Thanks for the video 🙏✨

Love the video. Would love to see an updated video of switch exclusives.
Finally, someone didn't either ignore or bash FFV! ... it's my personal favorite. 😊
Mine also. I first saw it as an downgrade to IV. But I fall in love with it. It's more like IX in spirit. Lighthearted and super fun to play.
I like it much better than 4! I think it’s just more charming and its adventurous spirit reminds me more of lighthearted ps1 RPGs. Plus much deeper systems.

Great list. My only critique if you ever do another would be to organize them into sub genres with chapters.
I did that last time. I find sub genres to be very nebulous. So this year I decided on something different
I don’t agree. Sorting by publisher makes more sense. Genres get messy.
@@WorldBurningTime i personally dont remember which developer made which game all the time so i feel like sub genres would have been easier if ever need to refer back to it. Great fucking video Jordan - you’re the king - so many JRPGs I need to get now 😊❤
thank you ser!
Instant sub!

There's no way anyone would have the time to play all of these. I think 50 is even a bit much!
One of many life goals added🎉😅🤩😍
Timestamps and all what a pro! I think it’s time to look into super robot wars
No Level 5 JRPG mentioned? I know, most of them are not avaible in english, but Fantasy Life is coming, and there are some Inazuma Eleven, and Yokai Watch at least in Japan.
But great video after all! Thank you Jordan.
Ni No Kuni is here. 😅 with Level 5 it’s a “I’ll believe it when I see it“
As soon as you said Rosalind i thought “f. ing nightmare”
Now I want to see Romance Saga salsa, a salsa that tastes different each time you try it. Final Fantasy farming should be Square's next game, a farming sim where you play annoying mini games to grow your crops. 😂

PMD is definitely an omission, The Princess Guide... is it an RPG? I'm not sure. Footage of it just looks kinda like an action game.
@PhysicalParadise It's an action rpg. Not a very good one but I would consider an rpg. But also not essential. It's one of the few NIS America games that aren't wallet busting after their initial release either 😂

Stay goated, king
🐐
and all of them are made with rpg maker 2003!
Jordan ya origin is not a spinoff it's the story of how ya became to be and why magic doesn't exist anymore
VGP had better prices on Red Art games then Red Art games themselves. Plus better shipping prices from Vgp.
I wanted to like DQ monsters, but that fps, load times, lack of voice acting, minimal animation variety, ended up parting with it early
Interesante, cuántos tendré?
Yes! Thanks for the time stamps too 🫡
Finally, a sensible definition of a JRPG. Fucking tired of lists with nonsense like Astral Chain, Advance Wars, and Metal Slug Tactics. If you can call literally any game an RPG, congratulations, language is no longer fit for purpose.
If by sensible, you mean still overly broad, sure.
Just from the companies that I care enough to watch those parts: P5S, P5T, Fire Emblem... lol
So true
I get the other two, but why would Astral Chain not be a JRPG? I mean it's made by Platinum Games.
@TheZestyCar you say that like Platinum Games are famous as an RPG studio. They've made a single game that could be considered an RPG, to my knowledge. Other than that it's wall to wall mindless button mashing character action games like Bayonetta. And Astral Chain is one of them.

In before someone tells you one you forgot 🤣
🔥🔥🔥🔥
I wanna get persona 4 golden physical, but it's stupid expensive everywhere lol
One Piece Odyssey is pretty good.
Yes, Final Fantasy VIII was my gateway to the Final Fantasy series and to JRPGs in general!
Hero
Every time someone mentions the non existence of Final Fantasy 11, I feel like I’m the only one who sees the Roman numeral in Final Fantasy maXIma.
How is this not a thing?
Because maxima came out like 10 years after FF 12? Sorta hard to shove it in the order ten years before it came out.
Did you miss Master Detective Archives: Rain Code?
I think that doesn't count as a JRPG. It's more of a visual novel and adventure game.
I've asked my mum for Live A Live for Christmas... Does THAT count???
She's kinda accidentally got me the Italian import...Brand new £20 (!)
I'm assured that it is fully playable in English... Here's hoping, coz I LOVED the demo!
I loved that game. It’s very unique in the sense that it’s about 10 different mini RPGs that intertwine together in the end.
And one of the greatest finales of all time
Thats a nice RPG list but i wish that Cris Tales and Mario + Rabbids were on the list. But it is what it is.
Also Persona 5 Strikers (altough it has a level up system) is not really an RPG. Its more of a Hack N Slash.
Cris Tales was South American I believe and for me, Mario + Rabbids is just a strategy game. 👍
Donde esta la lista de ps4 y ps5 ? 😑😑😑
Why don’t you make one? This channel is primarily for Switch.
It's a surprising amount of research. Maybe I'll do the other systems one day.
@PhysicalParadise 😭😭😭👍
@WorldBurningTime soy pobre
