👏 Thank you Dr Maasai and those that made her speech possible and shared it here on RUclips.
“Much of the resources you’re using are coming from other parts of the world”.
As far as I can see All countries of the world should be lining up to do what they can for Africa, and Native Africans, India and Indians, and South America and Native South Americans we know these areas and populations of the planet are just to important to planetary and genetic viability to think that life on this planet will survive long if these lands and peoples are continuously and literally raped. There is no replacing the natural environmental and genetic diversity they hold period. I don’t say that to say those populations are the only important populations all populations are they are just the most abused, exploited, and suffer the most. in case it has not been figured out yet there is something uniquely valuable about each population each is a piece to the whole. I don’t see that as a coincidence, I see it as a natural order. The narrative is we are all one and not there can be only one. One will not make it without the others. All Populations should be made aware of the cultures lost not necessarily to reinstate them as they were but to synthesize them for a better future we have to admit parts of past cultures become irrelevant for the present and the future. That’s just what it is. Not every tradition/culture is needed or will survive forever. Life changed constantly and eventually created us we are the same. What many call god, I have no words to describe it, is always with me and has never thrown me out of the garden. earth is the garden, hello. Wewill constantly run into things, wreck, not know where we are going and become lost if we are always looking back. We should pay respect to the past let it teach us not worship it, steal it, hide it, or distort it. The relationship between populations should have changed along time ago. The state of our human family today with all this knowledge and technology is tragic. Everybody is intangibly fat on feelings and set on avoiding a healthy consumption of natural order, facts and reason. no wonder our intangible aspects on a macro level are out of order. Understand natural order, facts and reasoning are not weapons for me but tools. Africa is the mother of all populations, I say we need to quit forgetting where humanity came from. Quit forgetting that as human beings we have to contend with tangible toxicity and intangible toxicity. We are our brothers and sisters keeper they are us an we are them. We need to Wake up and shake off whatever mental and emotional disfunctions that plague us and remember we are one human family, we all need to work together to get our house the planet and ourselves back in order and back on track. That’s the grueling challenge inherited question is are we just gone keep passing the buck pretending and prolonging this lesson life is trying to teach us Earth by its very nature produces abundance on auto and has been doing it a long damn time, we got to remember all knowledge isn’t encoded in language. Had we of listened to earth before declaring we know better we be in a better position. This planet is always communicating with us. I agree There’s no easy way what were meant to be and eventually do , steward life, populate (as many species as possible ) the universe is not an easy thing for known reasons. Anyone looking for easy street incarnated to the wrong planet/plane. If there are any Plans to murder off any but especially the older genetic populations that will be the beginning of the end of the human race. I heard the term Useless eaters, it sounded like ignorance to me, the human being is a magnificent marvel that imagine earth is proud we are so complex and have so many abilities and capacities I mean think about it what has earth created that can be described as a useless eater every organism has a job. In current human economies that is not the case. Earth does not produce waste economies do. It must be understood murder is a disconnecting from life if we make that a habit take that path, life here is a lost investment. It is done for. We are always tested always lured to stray we have to be challenged if we are to become what we need to be. If we cannot wield power properly and demonstrate that to be a fact would it be wise for us be endowed with it? We make horrendous mistakes that’s just what it is. Question is how do we recover? or do we recover? Or do we degrade? We got humans walking round here right now talking about greatness which kudos all day for accomplishments but in the grand expanse we haven’t even truly touched that yet, hell we can’t even get past the first got damn test! I can’t see the denizens of life allowing some of the bullshit we got going on here on planet to be spread elsewhere. If I were one of them I would be like if they can’t get their own house, earth, in order lock em up let them perish better to not take a chance of infecting the rest with such virulent mental and emotional disease. Not to say life on earth is all horror and shame, not at all, it’s a spectrum one that is constantly being reduced though. we are at a point where we know better and need to do better. Even if we get off earth, because we have not followed a path of life we will not be able to generate and spread it, if you haven’t noticed, space is nothing but death in a sense. I also doubt we’re the only sentient life systems life has invested in. We’re special on earth not necessarily anywhere else. There are parts of indigenous cultures still surviving and parts of indigenous cultures of the past that likely hold the wisdom needed to restore the biosphere, the garden. The developed world must account what of all that they have built processes included is an environmental and humanitarian hazard and need to change course ASAP and must account the deep debt the eras of colonialism then industrialism placed on the planet, innocent populations and the current generations living today, a literal legacy of ills, lets not cry about that, let’s be about better let’s settle that debt, make better choices, and keep it moving. There are some natural truths that aren’t debatable we should establish them and require cultures to build within those truths. Everything else is probably a drag on human development In a dozen generations we could be settling another planet all because we take the right path now.

Sad that the government's in Kenya only saw it worth that an assistant minister for environment position was the highest this environmentalist could serve. And then a person who could perhaps have sat at her feet to learn on matters environment was made her boss.
To add salt to injury, when one of the worst dictators Kenya had (who was also responsible for Wangari Mathai's tribulations during her struggle to save green spaces in Nairobi city) passed on, he was celebrated to the extent that Kenyans were akin to beautifying him oblivious of the number of citizens who suffered torture under his oppressive rein.
