Excited for you Bill, I could definitely see your excitement when the starter cranked! Great job man! I appreciate the step by step explanation, very helpful! Thanks again for the video Bill!
Man, that was truthfully unscripted and it was the very first turn of the switch in that video. I was so giddy that when I got the radio playing I started singing along to Buddy Holly, but RUclips flagged it on upload, so I had to delete it. There was a lot of happiness and excitement!
No joke! That was a totally cold "here goes nothin!" turn of the key!
Long time coming but very happy for you brother! It’s funny, the small things I get completed on my car, I talk about it for a week! Lol
Real and honest happiness when the engine bumped....that's awesome!
It was!
Fantastic that is a mind boggling job i am also dealing with alot of wiring on my 71 cutlass installing holley sniper efi on the 455
I've never put one in, but I'm sure it's got its own quirks to sort out and learn! Good luck!
I bought my first classic car (a 1970 Pontiac GTO) this past May. This winter, I'll be completely re-wiring it with the American Autowire Classic Update kit as well. So, seeing the in-depth 3-part series has been helpful. This has been wonderful and you've earned a subscription. Thanks!
That's great! There is also episode 138, which is the unboxing of the kit. If I had better foresight, I'd have made THAT Part 1. This is my 2nd go-around with this kit. The first was for a 71 Cutlass. They are very, very similar.
I'm new to the channel. I rewired my Chevelle with AA in 2016. I recently swapped motors and trans and added new components. This series of your installation is a great tool for anyone who needs a guide on how to properly do this. Congratulations!!
Thanks! It's useful if you're going to dive in as deep as I did, but for entertainment value, it's probably like watching paint dry!
An amazing job Bill. You have a keen eye for detail.
Thank you, sir!
Great job, I enjoy seeing your excitement. It gets me motivated to work on my 41 Dodge Deluxe. If it were me I would just turn off the headlights every time I turned right😊 I bet you figure it out in a hurry though. Keep em coming.
I'm trying!
Great progress!! Had to be an exciting moment when you heard it start to turn over! WOW. Hope you have safe travels and the surgery goes well. Please do videos when you do the pinstriping--I would love to see how that's done!! Thx!!!
Man, it really was! The big deal was the neutral safety, which was a made-up modification. That sort of change is bound to not work on the first try!
Wow, I really enjoyed this video! And, I got my wife to watch with me, and she got a big kick out of your happy feet moves!! Now she understands me better!! ;) Glad the wiring has gone so well. I'm next! ;)
You should have seen the karaoke that u had to cut out! LOL!
Great job Bill! Love the well deserved happy dance! We’ve all had that moment at some point and it does feel so good! Congratulations on your current progress. So excited for you!
Would be willing to bet you have a ground trouble at either front or rear running lights. It’s finding ground through the turn signal circuit causing the indicator to glow.
I haven't had the chance to look into it yet, but I don't think it's a ground. Somehow I'm feeding running light power to the blinker circuit. It works like it should with the headlights off, but when you turn the headlights on, it's stuck in the ON position.
Good job Bill.dont sweat getting it done asap, just enjoy the journey
Everything came to a screeching halt once Cruisin' approached and I wasn't going to make it. Holidays, vacation, surgery... all sorts of things slowed me down for about 6 weeks!
So Happy for you good work
Thanks!
So happy for you. Great to have a neutral safety switch on the clutch. Things are really looking up for Christine. Thanks so much Bill!
That switch was the big question mark... and it WORKED!
WOOOW So Proud and excited for your success on your build!!! Well done and you provided us many hours of goodness. Eager to see the first drive.
I am too!
Happy to see
YES!
Great job on your car and the videos. Extremely well detailed and very well explained.
I received my Classic Update kit for my 67 GTO today. I've been searching for videos and info to get a better idea of how this all goes, before I get started. Your videos have been very helpful in giving me a whole bunch less anxiety over doing this. I just subscribed and look forward to your next video. Thank you very much!
Thank you for your educational videos! Will come in big time for me on my 55 project. Ps pat yourself on your back you deserve it.
Awesome! Thank you!
You pulled a He-Man! I HAVE THE POWER!!!!!!
BY THE POWER OF GRAYSKULL!
Scotty: Give it more power! “I’m trying Captain ,if I give it anymore it will explode!”
LOL!
I usually make a whole in the lug terminal and feed the solder into it, I also double up the solder so more gets fed in. Twisting the solder
If you put the hood on, your workbench will be bigger. Looking good.
LOL! The hood is at the warehouse and I keep looking at it, thinking that one day I'll bring it home to mount!
Also I would check the bulbs for feedback on that turn signal, the wrong bulb will do the same thing
I’ve been watching your videos and I’m impressed with your work. What kind of clutch linkage are you installing?
@josephwindham1066 Nice to hear! basically factory original. All manual, no slave cylinder, original pedal and z-bar linkage.
I'd like to suggest using protective fender covers. Why risk damaging that beautiful paint work?
If only I were that smart! LOL!
I wouldve thought on the tail lights, the rubber boot goes in first and the plate with the 2 screws locks it down?
Bill, How many hours do you estimate that the wiring project took you to complete?
@@jimmanke4767 wow... I'm betting about 30 to 40.
@ Thank you, I’m thinking about tackling this on my 57 two ten. I think it is safe to say the previous owners didn’t have a PhD in 12V direct current theory. Fubar
Hello Bill. Just wondering if all is Ok. Missing your videos.
@bobbyclark6843 YES, had surgery last week and am getting back on my feet slowly. I should have a small video this weekend!
@@RestoringChristine1956 Hope your healing well. sorry to have bothered you when you probably need your rest. Take care.
@bobbyclark6843 nah, I'm totally stir crazy! Appreciate you asking!
That's usualy a ground problem in a socket ... fire that baby up ...
I haven't yet dug into it to find out, but that's going to be the next video when I get back in the garage!
