I love how some of the world's top metal drummers are standing behind Dave Lombardo with their phones out recording their metal hero, Lombardo is the best ever thrash drummer of all time.
@@specialedyay Bostaph did fine filling in, it's just that...Dave has such a smooth rhythm and groove. Very natural. And..well fuck..he's a founding member of fucking SLAYER!!!
I'm 46 and switch back and forth between playing air drums to air guitar at several metal shows in the stands and in the pit, lol. I probably look like I'm having a fit vs how musicians actually look whilst performing on real instruments
@@Vegeta_1990 Tom circa "South Of Heaven" was epic. Just gritty and all business. Never got into Death Angel, for no particular reason, we just never crossed paths. I'm impressed with Mark's capabilities on Angel Of Death.
I thought he was just impersonating Tom. It was pretty good. I saw Slayer 5 times with the original lineup before Dave left the first time. Only saw them twice after that and there was no match for Dave on drums.
@Eric Deniora I personally dont like Kerry Kings Slayer. i think Kerry is very talented but his ego has for me cost the band and me a dozen playlist songs. Dave and Geoff wrote most of my favourite music...
This is why dave Lombardo is legend. The combination of punk/metal drumming and his unpredictable fills/rolls are great. Also everybody in this performance kills it.Have'nt heard these songs sound this good in a long time.
Beautiful! Mark's vocals just sound so aggressive and Dave's drumming is insane, they sounded tighter than Slayer in the last few years (except for whatever the hell happened before the Raining Blood chorus)
This genuinely sounds fucking amazing. So good to see Lombardo back behind the kit playing these songs. A fucking crime the way we was treated in the end by Tom, Kerry and management. RIP Hanneman
Man I am enjoying this!! What a line-up! In my mind I feel 30 years younger, then I feel the pain in my back and knees and reality comes back! HA! ROCK!!!
Jings!! - even though I've taken a back seat following Slayer's career since the early 2000's, this made me feel like a 17 year old again! I haven't heard these songs played with such energy and with an element of fun since Slayer's "Reign in Pain" tour in Edinburgh 1986. Dave's drumming is still ferocious, wild and technically brilliant. Everytime you think he might "go off the rails" he snaps it right back into place. I love that about his style, he always keeps you guessing. For a man in his mid 50's here his energy is unbelievable and it is testament to his skill that he has drumming peers, who are also highly skilled and technical players, grinning like Cheshire cats watching and recording him pulverising that kit. It is good to see him honoured like that. All the band play well here, but notably Mark does a brilliant job on vocals here too. Emulating Tom's original Slayer vocal performances combined with his own wonderful vocal style gives the performance added freshness. I get a real sense of the band just having fun with an element of "let's see what happens" and it's so refreshing to see. If I thought Slayer's farewell tour would have had this energy and sense of fun I think I would've attended, even though I haven't bought a Slayer release since 1998. If Dave had reunited with them for one final push I definitely would have gone. I'm glad I had the opportunity in my past music production career to work with 4 out of the 5 members playing here. Glad I wasn't working this show though, as I would have been like Mike Portnoy "fan girling" at the side and "air drumming" along with the master of thrash metal drumming.
Ive seen all of these guys with their respective bands several times since the mid 80s plus Gary with Slayer and Dave with Dead Cross and the Misfits. This ensemble here is one of the most amazing things I've ever seen 🔥🤘🔥🍻
Lombardo really is the best metal drummer ever. His technique is just worlds above the average top level guy. Much like Bonham that's because his eclectic background of many different styles, along with his creativity. Much as I like Slayer's music I've never forgiven them for how they shit on Dave. Men with no loyalty to their friends are worthless men
I can tell this wasn't filmed in Europe - the pit is still moving after 40 seconds!! Even Portnoy respects the Godfather. It's not like him to not be more visible, or heard, when he's on a stage! Two of my favorites right there!! \m/
I love how some of the world's top metal drummers are standing behind Dave Lombardo with their phones out recording their metal hero, Lombardo is the best ever thrash drummer of all time.
Fuck yeah
Fuck yess, awesome. 🤟🤟
👍 he is a "Drumming Legend" that's fo sho
Damn fuckin right 👍
100% True.
Holy shit it sounds so tight with Lombardo behind the kit.
@@nomadmusicbk2366 You're 100% right. There's the 'feel' that's missing w/Bostaph. Mark Osegueda did a great job on the vocals as well.
@@specialedyay Bostaph did fine filling in, it's just that...Dave has such a smooth rhythm and groove. Very natural. And..well fuck..he's a founding member of fucking SLAYER!!!
The Kreator and his Kreations......
This is how it's supposed to be \m/
yeah, but only when he plays the drums… - and not falls out... Maybe Paul should rehearse the songs with Dave next time...;0)
In my opinion it was quite ridiculous not giving author rights to Dave in these songs. His drumming is an essential part of them.
Music sounds so much better when you take money and egos out of the equation. Nothing but pure joy on that stage.
2:54 love how Mike Portnoy sits behind Dave and plays air drums like a 15y old kid.
Lol i though the same...love his enthusiasm.
lol, I'm 29 and I'll do the same
I'm 46 and switch back and forth between playing air drums to air guitar at several metal shows in the stands and in the pit, lol. I probably look like I'm having a fit vs how musicians actually look whilst performing on real instruments
MP recognizes greatness - he’s seeing the last of the great three (Bonham, Peart and Lombardo)...
mike is true music lover and he didn't lost any of that with fame
7:50 Mark's Angel Of Death intro scream is impressively close to Tom's album scream
Mark is a way better singer, than Tom. No hate

Not when it comes to doing Slayer songs.
I thought he was just impersonating Tom. It was pretty good. I saw Slayer 5 times with the original lineup before Dave left the first time. Only saw them twice after that and there was no match for Dave on drums.
@Jayson, let’s say different ;-)
Gary Holt’s living his best life right now.
Yeah personaly pisses me of that he is there.but thats just my opinion on how Slayer should have beeennn
@Eric Deniora I personally dont like Kerry Kings Slayer. i think Kerry is very talented but his ego has for me cost the band and me a dozen playlist songs. Dave and Geoff wrote most of my favourite music...
hes not dealing with kerry. hes doing great. lol
NO CLOSEUPS OF LOMBARDO? WTF!!!!
Totally
Vio-Lence, Exodus, Slayer and Death Angel on the same stage.. niiiice!
Yea it’s crazy. Love this shit
Bay area metal rules
And suicidal tendencies
Fukn a
This is why dave Lombardo is legend. The combination of punk/metal drumming and his unpredictable fills/rolls are great. Also everybody in this performance kills it.Have'nt heard these songs sound this good in a long time.
The best slayer drummer and one of the best trash drummer of all time without a doubt.
Now this is music played to perfection!
Well said
Mark is fantastic. Very good choice to Kerry
That performance made Jeff smile, I guarantee
Still reigning \m/
that's why dave lombardo will always be one of the best metal drummers of all time
Awesome set. Dave Lombardo nailed it. Funny that Gary seems to enjoy playing with him more than slayer
I like Paul but he just can’t nail the slayer songs like Dave can
Slayer died without soul.
In Slayer, Gary was playing with his employers and in this concert, he was playing with his friends.
Gary and Dave shaking hands at the end was amazing , so much mutual respect .....True OGs of the Thrash World .
Portnoy fangirling with Lombardo gives you the talent dimension of Sir Lombardo !
Definitely no shortage of respect there... rightly so
Mark Osegueda Gary Holt Phil Demmel Jack Gibson Dave Lombardo ...wow...its sick.....love love love it
Holt & Lombardo seem to have a blast playing together. Awesome shit, thanks for the upload.
3yrs later response but thanks for watching. Glad u enjoyed it. It was epic to witness in person.
Bay Area Thrash is a family. This band and it's ever changing line up proves that. So awesome. All these people involved are LEGENDS.
Man, it's so nice to see Dave up there smashing the kit. Hasn't lost a step, that's for sure.
I think that he always was the best at performing with his instrument in Slayer.
Glad to see HOLT and LOMBARDO aren't RETIRING!
mrpiccolo23 WHY are we SHOUTING choice WORDS in our SENTENCES?
It was absolutely amazing to see. Truly was.
You know Jeff was smiling down on that moment. Thank you for posting this!
Beautiful! Mark's vocals just sound so aggressive and Dave's drumming is insane, they sounded tighter than Slayer in the last few years (except for whatever the hell happened before the Raining Blood chorus)
Everybody is happy with Dave crushing his drums!!!!!
This genuinely sounds fucking amazing. So good to see Lombardo back behind the kit playing these songs. A fucking crime the way we was treated in the end by Tom, Kerry and management.
RIP Hanneman
That's how important a good drummer is to the song, he pulled that song together.
Dave Lombardo, one of my favorites drummer of all time!
I was expecting to cringe on vocals because no one ever seems to get that part right, but he did a good job actually.
Now you can understand why Dave IS Slayer and always will be part of this legendary band!
Lombardo is killing it on the kit and love the sound of his thunderous drums! The sound blows me away!!!!! Thumbs up to all of them!
4 bay area thrashers and a drum god walk into a bar!
That was fucking epic, wasn't it??
And fuck shit up in all the best ways!
Man I am enjoying this!! What a line-up! In my mind I feel 30 years younger, then I feel the pain in my back and knees and reality comes back! HA! ROCK!!!
Dave...unreal.
Dave Lombardo is da man.
Better than whats left of the actual band Slayer. sounds more lively, more powerful.
FXZZFX99 it always does with Dave behind the kit
This sounds more tight and Slayer then the Slayer i have seen at their farewell tour.
Painfully true.
I was there at the end...agreed
MARK IS AN AMAZING SINGER// HE NAILED THAT SCREAM\,,,/
All star line up!!🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻mark osegueda shines like a diamond!! Death angel!violence!exodus!slayer!
This is the best Slayer show I have seen in years.... they should tour.
Mark Osegueda sounded like Araya in his 20s
Hellyeah especially the screams
RIP Jeff 🤘
Master Dave shows how it's done.
Thanks for uploading this!
SLAYER II for our children's children.
Dave Lombardo will always be my favorite drummer ever 🤘🤘
Look at Mike Portnoy givin Lombardo mad respect watching him the whole time and air drumming.
8:41 switches sticks mid-song like a boss
from a closer drum-cam it shows that the stick broke, that's why he had to change!!

Damn this is gooooooood! I especially love the way Mark is doing the vocals, so fitting!
Master Lombardo doing his natural job :)
In his natural habitat lol
In 1999 Dave Lombardo put Testament to new levels never heard of before. I hope next album will be close to The Gathering.🤘🤘🤘
Dave is the Man...
1000% badass!!! So good to see dave the legend behind the kit. \m/

Dave Lombardo owns that chair. Fucking Kerry King took that away for us fans. You can't have a farewell tour without Lombardo.
Ok, this just about blew my mind!!!!!!
Lombardo sendo o mestre de sempre!!
half of slayer is there anyways :D and how the fuck can lombardo still play at that speed AND at that age?!?!? dude's a freak of nature!!!
just awesome. Mark is in fine form as were all there!
Mike "F'ing" Portnoy is right next to Lombardo is totally having a Fan moment. That is how giant Lombardo is!
No I change my mind! Everyone on that stage is also having a Fan moment.
Jes ,all right Berry cool and perfektionell this Video
