As a “kid” born long after this era. 1999. And an amateur songwriter. I often look back to the masterpieces of electronic music/industrial music from Kraftwerk to Front242 to Nitzer Ebb to Depeche Mode to Skinny Puppy to Frontline Assembly. So hopefully not all will be lost in future generations when it comes to remembering the greats and writing good new music, I just doubt most new music in the “mainstream” will be good again for a very long time if ever again unfortunately. You have to dig around for decent new music.
@@locustboy8448 - You’re right. It’s going to be tough to find anything new that will have the impact this kind of music has had over the years. I have found a few newer groups I like. I just don’t think their music will hold much weight over the years.
Front 242, Nitzer Ebb, Skinny Puppy, Frontline Assembly, and others are amazing! I had the great pleasure of growing up in Orlando, Florida where industrial music was HUGE in the late 80’s through today even!
I'm a big (Belgian) fan of the Front. I agree. Yet, I think we all can agree they ain't no wussies. So maybe the energy levels & still admirablely great bodyshapes aren't necessarily the result of physical workouts but something rather more chemical.
About 5 minutes ago I watched Soul Coughing live on American TV doing Super-Bon-Bon, and it's like they were sleepwalking. They need to take a lesson from Front 242 - you want the fans to commit to you, show some commitment to them!
Saw them here in Austin this last October and was blown away the same as another comment, these guys have boundless frenetic energy. Even during the encore. It was a small venue but was packed to the walls. The audience singing and participating to Headhunter made me want run out into the streets and yell, "you gotta come see this sh*t!" And these guys are in their early 60's! (Im not too far behind in my early 50's) but i grew up with their music from around 15 or 16 years old (try 1984 or 85! 😮😊 was so happy I got to see them live. A concert in my top 3 now (Bauhaus, then Skinny Puppy, then 242). [ On a complete tangent, The 60's psychedelic Prog Rock band The Moody Blues (saw them in early 90's) is a solid #4 knocked down by 242.]
I just got home from seeing them live, LIFE CHANGING amazing band i love them so much, I hate that i was busy not being born in the peak years of this band because what i saw tonight was amazing
Their music aged really well. Actually, sounds more modern than today's music. I just can't get over how much they aged though. They look like Grandpas.
Легенды! Защемило сердце от ностальгии по далёкому времени, когда я будучи юным убеждённым металлюгой охреневал от того, какой может быть охеренной электронная музыка! Люблю их и регулярно переслушиваю.
so lucky to meet Patrick (keyboards) now and then in Jette. :) simple, humble, talented men, all 4 of them! In a word, Belgians. True original artists! forever in my heart, way beyond the triple final show of January 2025 to come! :)
Thanks Brett. When I was a child I lived in Illinois then when I was 10 I moved south and over the years I visited but mainly my point is that I Really Miss Real Chicago Style Hot Dogs, Pizza, and Pork Tenderloin Sandwiches. I will literally wake up in the middle of the night craving a Pork Tenderloin sandwich and say To myself that's 2000 miles Away I can't get my hands on it, Hahahahahahahaha 😂!!!
The sounds cooked up on this album (that Headhunter landed on) are insane. Even crazier that it was in the late 80’s. This is probably my favourite track (V 3.0 if I have to choose) but Welcome To Paradise V 1.0 gets a close second.
I'm shocked I was at this show and I didn't notice they counted the American 3. Using the index middle and ring finger not the European 3 using the thumb index and middle finger like they did in the music video. Also I was at the back of the room near the bar so I could dance.
Awesome funny as heck that the DJ messed up at the end not the first time. A very sure it was Alex Patterson from the orb guest DJing in Tampa in 1997 and Rodney looked over and said what the f***fuk fuk LOL

All these years later and still levels better than modern music to me.
I miss this so much all the time.
Agreed! This song was composed by Front 242 in 1988!

Fucking hell never thought I'd hear the name nitzer ebb again, same as I never expected to hear this gem of a tune again either 🤪👊🏻
@@Disc023-ps6le 😀 You can be sure there's a lot of people around like me, which never leave their house w/o such music in the blutooth device.
you forgot to mention RevCo
An eletropunk hit unforgettable !
Абсолютно тоже самое слушала в России🩷
They still have absurd energy live. Amazing band

Jean-Luc has 16 years on me and my knees couldn't take the jumping he was doing.
They've always had the sickest dance moves

I do believe that this is the best version of this song that has ever been recorded!
I had to record this one. That whole show was brilliant 🎶
Just amazing..
Dude in sunglasses hobbled up there like he has ankylosing spondylitis. Then pogoed like a hero. Commitment. 👍
Es gibt einfach Leute die der absolute Hammer sind. Neben der Front sind das noch Andrew Eldritch, Nitzer Ebb, Jürgen Engler und Ralf Dörper.
Love front from belgium
