The entire "Toxicity" album!
You will become a fan immediately!
Wonderful album
This song has an effect, and emphasis, on life. It seems to speak about the cruelty, unfairness, and selfishness not only of life but of the human mind. Very cool. My favorite SOAD song.
The song is about life, the kid represents your ego, not humble, dissatisfied, extremely materialistic, controlling, narcissistic, ect. "lose small mind and free your life" ego death frees your life from suffering, also another interesting lyric in the song, "Life is a waterfall, we're one in the river and one again after the fall." It's talking about our souls all being united like water in a river, then as the water falls over the edge, its separated into droplets, (our bodies) then finally reunited after the fall...(death)
"Swimming through the void we hear the word" swimming through the void because we died, what word do we hear? We hear the word of God. "We lose ourselves but we find it all." Losing our life, but finding God. Thank you for reading my comment
That was nice. Please do more System of a down reactions. System of a down - Chop Suey
and Needles...
I was lucky enough to see these guys live!! The energy was mind blowing
When angels deserve to die!!! Chop Suey.
Amor odio Amor the song is chop suey by system of a down
Kel-n-Rich thanks for this MetalDna for Alexis. She has no idea and she will totally be surprised! Alexis and I love so many SOAD songs because they are all so great but this is her favorite one of them all. Thanks again K&R you two are awesome 🤘🏽
Raul thanks SO much Uncle Awesome! Please send her our rustiest regards.
Big hugs to you brother!
Kelli Gafter absolutely will do and thank you again for the reaction. I really appreciate very much!
Raul back at ya!
Nice reactions. This is a SOAD classic. Have listened to this for 15 years.
Back when I was a "patriotic American" it was SOAD that assisted in bringing me down to reality. They were my gateway drug to leaning on truth over propaganda. Their songs are similar to Rage Against the Machine. They speak truth to power.
This is one of the first songs I ever heard from System. Really good choice 👍😎👍
system, the band from my adolescence!
I Love!!! Thanks to react.
I've been listening to this band for almost 2 decades now. Great reaction... glad you enjoyed!
The harmony between the two voices is just... I can't even put it into words.
I still feel the same listening to their songs after all these years.
You should definitely check out some of their other major songs.
- Chop Suey (Probably the most famous song)
- Hypnotize
- Toxicity
- Sugar
- BYOB
- Lonely Day
- Spiders
It's worth it!!!
Yes!!!!!! More System!!!!!!!
Awe, you're listening to my fellow Armenians. 😍 Btw, they use Armenian and Middle Eastern elements in their music. And Serj Tankian, the singer, has great personality.
And voice
Awwwww...they're talking about growing old, having horns spike out of them and shedding their skin like reptiles while they snuggle. Adorable! :-)
SOAD - Toxicity !!! I'm so glad you started reacting to this band lol I love it so much, it's powerful and melodic. Many great tunes to find in their catalog
Spiders. Great song
I've been listening to that song for 18 years now. I still get goosebumps
do yourselves a favor and listen too Lost in Hollywood by system of a down
If you want more system of a down, 'Spiders' is my favorite. Keeps the spooky mood of aerials but has beautiful intensity at the end.
A few years back I was listening to the radio when this song started playing. These guys are social advocates and play really hard rock. I was blown away by the lyrics, please read them and enjoy the song. This song is about transcending your idea of self. I know this is long, and please read this. I am an elderly American Buddhist Monk who loves good music like you and your wife. I am 63 and grew up listening to most of the songs you and your wife review.
Nirvana, the Waterfall, Shunryu Suzuki, Roshi
“Our life and death are the same thing. When we realize this fact, we have no fear of death anymore, nor actual difficulty in life.”
I went to Yosemite National Park, and I saw some huge waterfalls. The highest one there is one thousand three hundred forty feet high, and from it the water comes down like a curtain thrown from the top of the mountain. It does not seem to come down swiftly, as you might expect; it seems to come down very slowly because of the distance. And the water does not come down as one stream, but is separated into many tiny streams. From a distance it looks like a curtain. And I thought it must be a very difficult experience for each drop of water to come down from the top of such a high mountain. It takes time you know, a long time, for the water finally to reach the bottom of the waterfall. And it seems to me that our human life may be like this. We have many difficult experiences in our life. But at the same time, I thought, the water was not originally separated, but was one whole river. Only when it is separated does it have some difficulty in falling. It is as if the water does not have any feeling when it is one whole river. Only when separated in many drops can it begin to have or to express some feeling. When we see one whole river we do not feel the living activity of the water, but when we scoop a part of the water into a dipper, we experience some feeling of the water, and we also feel the value of the person who uses the water. Feeling ourselves and the water in this way, we cannot use it in just a material way. It is a living thing.
Before we were born we had no feeling; we were one with the universe. This is sometimes called “mind-only,” or “essence of mind,” or “big mind.” After we are separated by birth from this oneness, as the water falling from the waterfall is separated by the wind and rocks, and then we have feeling. You have difficulty because you have feeling. You attach to the feeling you have without knowing just how this kind of feeling is created. When you do not realize that you are one with the river, or one with the universe, you have fear. Whether it is separated into drops or not, water is only water. Our life and death are the same thing. When we realize this fact we have no fear of death anymore, and we have no actual difficulty in our life.
When the water returns to its original oneness with the river, it no longer has any individual feeling to it; it resumes its own nature, and finds perfect composure. How very glad the water must be to come back to the original river! If this is water it must come back to the original river! If this is so, what feeling will we have when we die? I think we are like the water in the dipper. We will have composure then, perfect composure. It may be too perfect for us, just now, because we are so much attached to our own feeling, to our own individual existence. For us, just now, we have some fear of death, but after we resume our true original nature, there is Nirvana. That is why we say, “To attain Nirvana is to pass away.” “To pass away” is not a very adequate expression. Perhaps “to pass on,” or “to go on,” or “to join” would be better. Will you try to find some better expression for death? When you find it, you will have quite a new interpretation of your life. It will be like my experience when I say the water in the big waterfall. Imagine! It was one thousand three hundred forty feet high!
We say, “Everything comes to emptiness.” One whole river or one whole mind is emptiness. When we reach this understanding we find the true meaning of our life. When we reach this understanding we can see the beauty of human life. Before we realize this fact, everything that we see is just delusion. Sometimes we overestimated the beauty; sometimes we underestimate or ignore the beauty because our small mind is not in accord with reality.
To talk about it this way is quite easy, but to have the actual feeling is not so easy. But by your practice of meditation you can cultivate this feeling. When you can sit with your whole body and mind, and with the oneness of your mind and body under the control of the universal mind, you can easily attain this kind of right understanding. Your everyday life will be renewed without being attached to an old erroneous interpretation of life. When you realize this fact, you will discover how meaningless your old interpretation was, and how much useless effort you had been making. You will find the true meaning of life, and even though you have difficulty falling upright from the top of the waterfall to the bottom of the mountain, you will enjoy your life.

JUst found your channel. Love you guys, just subscribed. Keep Rocking It. XOXOX🤘🤘🤘
Toxicity. My fave off the album
Aerials is probably in my top 5 SOAD songs, I still listen to their music daily, can't stop & won't stop loving their music. Radio/Video is also one of my favs, you should really check one of the live vesions out! :D
Hell, even Revenga!! I'm 100% sure you'll love both songs I just suggested haha
Chop Suey???? Great reaction as always!
Amazing song.
I’m not a big fan of SOAD but Aerials is without doubt an absolute classic. The guys formed in the States but are of Armenian roots and you can often hear that influence in their music. It was particularly noticeable in the harmonies at the very end of the song. Great song choice!
the harmonization on this song is pretty awesome.
you two are great, give vibes, goodtimes
There is SOOOOooo much SOAD you need to experience!
More SOAD buckle up! You guys are killing it.
These are the channels I love lol The open-minded and genuinely honest people that like to expand their horizons. You two are great. Definitely subscribing.
We are so glad that you found us and are enjoying the experience. We can’t wait to turn the camera on every day and the whole ride is just one big ball of bliss. Tonight we’re starting fairly late so the posts will be probably after midnight. Please check in as often as you want and contribute in anyway you feel moved to. There are so many hands on deck at this point that the ship is able to Add more levels as we sail!!!! Unreal!!!! Rich
Suger and Ariels are my favorite SOAD songs....they remind d me of The Dead Kennedy's ( okay maybe not Ariels) in a lot of their material. Besides Prog(#1)and metal, I really loved punk ,hardcore, post punk and ska back in the early 80s ( typical bass player... listened to everything really). Nice to hear the influence in younger bands.
#Painintheask Riverside Escalator Shrine+Coda
Your favourite two songs and yet you can't spell either one correctly?
Nice T-shirt Rich.

More system of a down!!!
Kel your top is awesome!
Might I suggest "Lonely Day" as it completely steers away from their heavy side. It's much more acoustic but very meaningful and lovely. It shows a different side of the band and their overall versatility.
Hey, I just wanted to say, you guys have a very cool channel here. It seems you react to a lot of the rock and prog stuff that I enjoy.
I may have to write something soon about your channel in my blog as well.
Thanks again, and I'll throw in some requests soon (my birthday is not until June, so I'll hold off for awhile with one of those).
I took my little brother of 11 years younger to see Beast in Black in concert. He loved it. Try Blind and Frozen.

I only say S.O.A.D. Live in ROCK AM RING!.....check also out all the Side Projects Serj Tankian did,for example his Chris Cornell Cover or his work together with David Draiman/Disturbed......you just scratched the surface of System....it will be a looooog journey!....especially the Lyrics will blow you away for sure.As political as the old RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE Lyrics. You have to see the Live Videos and the Audience Reaction. After you joined a System Moshpit, you look like coming back from war 3:)

The Piper Never Dies - Edguy #painintheask
Kel-n- Rich I have a request, will you listen to Asking Alexandria "I Wont Give In" Its a metalcore band and this song has powerful music and a great message and means a lot. First time hearing this song I remember having the surround sound headphones on and it started and it pulsed through your veins and awoke that inner rock demon so to speak and next thing you know its on full blast and your jumping around in your room... OR... something a little slower Asking Alexandria Into the Fire *Acoustic Version*.. that song really displays the vocalist talent and range of their lead singer and shows that even though they may scream from time to time they still have amazing vocal capability. I would love to see someone else feel any of these songs the same way I do, all the best. #FuelTheInnerDemon, #TurnThisShitUp!
PS. He shops at Hot Topic, she shops at Hot Something? And pet smart. Haha. You guys are great fun
